Thanks very much for this! So useful for when you can't demo these very easily in shops now and gives you an initial starter to decide which direction to go to. Having put some headphones on, you can really tell the difference in the recordings. Just a quick question, I've got an old analogue MJ acoustics subwoofer. Is there anyway to use this instead in the setup without buying the Sony sub. Maybe using one of the outputs or using some converters for the cables? Thanks in advance
Because of budget limits I went with just the HT-A5000 and no regrets so far. So glad I had to wait to buy the rear speakers. I'll be getting a set net year. I'll probably have to pass on the sub woofer for the other people living in the house.
It's seriously nuts. It's actually a bit crazy to see all of these things that used to be a manual process for the audio production stuff I've worked on over the past 15 years and how it would require a whole team of people to get it all done a certain way.... And now it happens in seconds. Honestly, I'm glad because the setup and tuning was the most tedious part. I always wanted to get to the fun part and mix the audio lol
@@bortaom2minuter ok....so their large party speakers are meh. I will take your word for it as I don't own any of them. Hey! I haven't personally used the HT-A7000 but you can use the SW5 and RS5 with it as well! From a fundamental level and how much of a difference the sub and rear speaker makes on the HT-A5000 it is a dramatic expansion of immersion and fullness. I'd say the bars are great for front coverage and ceiling coverage while the rears full in rear coverage and rear ceiling coverage to the point you can hear things up and FAR behind you, and a sub really fills in the low end more and adds some deeper rumble. I hope that helps!
Are the speakers supposed to be so quiet? I received the RS5s about a week ago and have updated the speakers, changed a few settings, and even customized the spatial mapping to boost the rears to max dB with the soundbar to min dB (+-6 allowed), yet I can barely hear them unless I put my ear about one foot away... When I do the optimization they are loud and clear, but in use they are super quiet! Not sure if they are supposed to function that way as merely ambient noise to not take away from the main audio. Any advice?
How much of a overall sound quality is this from the HT-CT770? The 770 has been fantastic but does lack the spatial stuff. Thinking about upgrading. Also, how does 2 subs do? Can you? Worth it?

Hi Brandon I've got the HT-A7000 and RS5 sub, currently waiting for the SA-RS5's to become available in the UK. I've changed to this a soundbar set up from A Denon/KEF receiver to simplify everything and get rid of cable clutter. I'm very impressed so far just with Bar and Sub configuration. The difference in quality is barely noticeable and once the rears are added i'm confident this will be a simpler and superior setup. My question is where did you get the AV cabinet from? I'm looking for a new one and like the style of it.

I have that exact same sound bar my TV is sitting on top of a TV stand. There is a small shelf underneath the stand. It’s about 6 inches high. I have my sound bar under that shelf. Do you think I would have better sound quality if I took it out from under that shelf and put it right in front of the TV like you have it.
So it is able to convert any audio I have to be in 360 ? How about my stereo music ? Or concerts in Dolby digital? And Does it improve the Atmos and DTS X experience ? In other words, does the audio content have to be encoded in Sony's format for me to enjoy this feature ?
It will definitely make it more immersive because of all of the phantom speakers that will make the stereo spread even more robust and beyond just left and right, but also above you. It does really show off the 360 experience a lot more when you have content that is designed for that like Dolby Atmos.
Like in the actual theater? Not even close, but most things aren't. You'd have to spend closer to $15K+ for something to get similar. That would be more like an SVS system.
Hey! At the moment I don't have access to that soundbar setup so I'm not able to. Samsung has been quite disinterested in working with me for some reason.

I have the A80J which is plenty bright (not as bright as the a90j) but my surround sound is from the early 2010s. Definitely need to upgrade. Yeah! I would definitely get the RS5's as those up-firing speakers really make a noticeable difference in how immersive things sound. The sound profile is more towards the clean and airy sounding because of that dome effect and EQ. I think the binaural ears did manage to capture a lot of that sound profile fairly well.
@@ARIN4UK I was originally looking at the A9 but I can't find those anywhere but the rear speakers and the a7000 might be the best compromise to make. I'll definitely need the 500 series subwoofer though
Using A80J here too. When I went to Sony website to check out the local price, there are plenty of reviews mentioned same connection flopping issue similar to the A9 system so I’m bit concerned
When I power ON (or OFF) my HTA-3000 soundbar, how come it does not power ON (or OFF) the RS5 speakers as well? If it should, what must I do to correct it?
These speakers are not audible to most listeners, there's several forum and reddit posts about people claiming they cannot hear these speakers at all, myself included. Maximum rear volume, every setting you can imagine- these speakers add absolutely nothing. They're complete junk. When testing/testing up the speakers however, they're clear, vibrant and loud. It's not dud-speakers, it's dud-software. I regret this whole Sony system immensely and I recommend anyone interested in this unit to search for reviews beyond UA-camrs.
Hi I'm having same problems and its nuts.. Synchronizations works great but we can hear almost nothing.. With.. Have you sound solution for that? I have newest firmware.. Or shall I download one from the site? Or wrong settings?
Last year I bought the HT-Z9F. I also bought the rear wireless speakers. Now they keep losing signal and drop out. So I'll lose my sub or one of the rear channels. Recently I've started having the sound bar cut in and out, and when watching a movie having the source change from the bar to the TV speakers is aggravating enough to just turn the movie off. Sony had me send it in for warranty and said it's a known problem with no fix currently. Hopefully this was resolved in this system and it will not have the speakers cutting on and off.
Oh, dang, Jaime. So sorry to hear that! So far I haven't had any stability issues like that on my current setup. I'm so sorry that it's working that way and hopefully Sony is able to find a solution that works for you.
It has 4K@60 passthrough. You could plug in something like a blu ray player into the bar and it would "passthrough" the signal to your TV. Sometimes that makes sense to plug something into the bar instead of into the TV directly, sometimes it doesn't. Depends on your situation and setup.
Help, I have the Sony HT A7000 bar, it sounds incredible and it is a sound quality that only by listening to it and being there you can appreciate the clarity and forcefulness of the sound and I only use the bar, but it generates cuts spontaneously, like when changing gears. auto sound or cinema mode, the bar makes a cut and comes back, this is exactly what happens to me but intermittently and it does it alone, that is not normal, what can I do to solve it, I am new to this and I don't know much about this type of product. I use it with e arc Thanks for your comments
I have had this system about a month(with the smaller surrounds)and have the new 360 firmware which sounds amazing with the right multichannel content. The only complaint I have is the content from my Apple TV connected to the soundbars hdmi input the picture sometimes has trouble connecting to my A80j Sony TV even though I have checked settings and wires, not the biggest deal just annoying.
Oh, weird. I wonder if that's an Apple TV thing or the soundbar. Have to asked Sony directly? Maybe they are aware of it and have a fix or something coming, or they need to be made aware of it so they can adjust it, if they can.
if i have a samsung smart tv (for example the new neo) with the solar remotes can i use that remote universally for the tv & the sony soundbar OR do i have to use two remotes, 1 for tv, 1 for soundbar?
The cool thing about eARC over HDMI is that you can simply adjust the audio on your TV and it should adjust the speaker system as well. I haven't personally encountered a time when that didn't work that way, so it should be the norm. The controller for the Sony speakers does have the ability to balance certain things like the sub volume, etc.
so you dont go for the HT-A7000? but then have the latest and best offerings from Sony pairings to the soundbar in their subwoofer and rear speaker??? why not have the HT-A7000?
So if I connect my PS5 to this soundbar will I get the full features of the TV? Like the 4K/120fps, VRR, ALLM or Dolby V. I mean all the features? Pls let me know I have the tv I don’t know if I am going to return it cuz they only have 2 HDMI with 4k in it and one has the eArc. I have 2 consoles and I like the big sounds while I’m playing. Please help the brother out..
I have LG C2 OLED 83" and got one A3000 at discounted price $330 (Which I can return, if needed) and I to be frank I am very new to sound system as well. The Tv wall setup what I have does not have good room for upward firing speaker, so I thought I will add two rear speaker (SA-RS5) with my A3000, will that give WoW effect or Shall I return A3000 and got something else. TV distance from my OLED is 12 feet.
I haven't used the A9 so I don't know, sorry! I'd say the top one is the closest to my setup, but better, so that seems like a great setup. The HT-A9 would have more flexibility if you don't have much room for a soundbar and stuff.
@@ThisIsTechToday 2700$ is both when maxed out so i am confused. I have space for sound bar. Idh any space issues and i’m stuck in between 2 which one to choose
@@ThisIsTechToday Our 2020 Sony TV has outstanding speakers on its own. No bass, but great clear loud sound. It’s got small speakers at the top sides aswell
Would it be worth to invest in the rear speaker if my coach is literally next to the wall? That means there wouldn't be space to place them behind me but instead they would be at my sides.
@@ThisIsTechTodayfor the price difference do you think the $300 price difference is worth for the RS5 or should i go with RS3 , i have the A7000 and SW5
can you tell me do the rear speakers add a deeper bass to the the overall sound, I have just the sound bar and I’m wondering do the rears contribute in the bass department
The rear speakers are not sub-woofers. They're primarily able to provide more midrange and highs which would capture things moving around you. A sub can be placed mostly anywhere in the room and accomplish the same goal of providing more weight and low end to your sound. If you're looking for low-end, I'd start with a sub first.
Can anyone help me in the selection of which one would be better for home.. Thank you in advance for helping I am confused between sony Ht- A5000 vs Sonos Arc I am not a technical guy,but both seems to be similar..!!.
for the price we pay I can’t believe sony doesn’t even give any EQ option considering the sub and rear speakers are pricey, also they need to give up with the cheap remote
I have had an upsetting needless to say experience waiting for the the Rs5s, At first it said they were going to come out in spring, then they said early April then late April, now their saying June! quit getting my hopes up and just give us a true date for goodness sake.
Supply chain is affecting everyone and it's really hard on businesses. It even delayed this video as we waited for them. Trust me, Sony would love to make these available and ready to buy as soon as possible, but you can't push against an unfortunate force that affects everyone.
I have this setup, but with the Rs3, and sw3 sub. I never truly experienced the phantom effect during content watching, just in the setup demos. I’m thinking of upgrading the bar itself to the HT-A700, since it uses a different audio engine called “Immersive Experience” instead of the older sound field tech in the HT-A500. Im actually pretty annoyed about this because I first tried their more recent lower end bar which lacks in sound but uses the IE engine and the phantom and height effects were so much more noticeable. Sony dosent give the distinction that the HT-A500 lacked this version of the sound engine in any marketing so it’s a damn shame and a waste!
Wow thank you for this comment as I have watched probably 50 reviews ands comparisons but none mention this. I wanted the upward firing channels so the 3000 was not in the equation and the 7000 price is a hard pill to swallow so I’ve been hovering on this model. Not saying this is the deciding factor but def feels like an important piece of info
I haven't personally tried it, but I would be skeptical if they have the same tech for phantom speakers in a dome formation all around you like on the Sony's. The obvious thing is that matching brands between your TV and Sound system tend to have their benefits, and if image is your main focus, then what you choose for a TV will be the deciding factor. I can confidently say that the Sony A90J has been the best TV I've ever owned and even the speaker in the TV is astoundingly good and full.
Swapping the legs of that TV to get it up means having to buy another and uninstall and reinstall that giant TV, that's definitely more an inconvenience than you made it seem to be, well it would be for me
TV stand link is in the description or pinned comment. Sony sent me the A5000 not the A7000. Sorry about that! I'm actually surprised to get this comment as much as I have. Maybe we should go with the very top end of options for everything next time?
Because he used a very very good Sony A5000. It’s in the middle of the product range. Not everyone is in the market for a $1200 speaker bar. Most people use nothing at all with their TVs actually
Dear Sir, I have just bought Sony HT-A5000 soundbar without rears and Sw but I think it is a good quality product. The only thing I have found that it is displaying Dolby Atmos/Audio @ 48Khz even for SD channels too. Can you help me understand this problem as I have tested the sound quality on Disney+/Netflix/Apple but the sampling frequency remains the same. I expected it to change it 92Khz or more or less according to the signals from content. What could be the problem?
Ah, this is just like Nakamiachi 7.1.4 sound bar, with 2 subwoofers&4 external surrounds Priced@ 124,000/- Indian rupees,it is out of reach, hope Sony will not follow this 😃

Such a beastly soundbar, im rocking the a7000 and it was so good, it replaced my sonos arc.
Oh, hype! You have the big boy!!
This man has his PS5 is upside down at 5:15 lmao I can’t be the only one who seen that
The best engagement hacks are the ones that make people go "wait, man, wth?!" lol
And can you send some forums with this topic?
Is JBL 9.1 sound bar better option
If you don't mind me asking, what is hdr passthrough in soundbars? Like 8k hdr passtrough or 4k hdr passtrough?
It has 4K@60 passthrough. You could plug in something like a blu ray player into the bar and it would "passthrough" the signal to your TV. Sometimes that makes sense to plug something into the bar instead of into the TV directly, sometimes it doesn't. Depends on your situation and setup.
Can I hook up the HT-A9 High Performance Home Theater System with my HT A7000 soundbar together?
Can you hook them up primarily with apple tv or is it better to connect the tv via hdmi?
Which rear speakers do ypu think i jave the rs3 but thinking of upgrading to the rs5 is it worth it??
Could you test the sony ht-a9 please!!
Oh, interesting. We'll see! Depends on if there's an opportunity with Sony!
Hai bro super watched your review today your new subscriber from India good job
Yeah probably the soundbar connected a Nvidia Shield and after a day or two it did the same thing, guess the next move is to contact Sony🤨
What’s some of your favorite content to test the system…
@@ARIN4UK Race scene Ready Player One, Pacific Rim, Mission Impossible 6 among others
@@MrTrentonMakes Yes, I love that race scene. I’ll check out Pacific Rim! Thanks
Such a cool sound system! Does the screen noticeably vibrate when it’s being used to carry the sound?
I honestly don't visibly see any of that. I'm not one to put my hand on my TV screen though, so....lol
I have a question regarding this A5000? Will this soundbar works with LG Smart TV UK6360 it has ARC port only.
I HAVE THE SAME SETUP A90J 83" AND PS5 AND A5000 🔥🔥🔥
Will the upfiring speakers noise affect via the Selling fan ?
I tried one of the cheaper 2.1 soundbars with my x90k. It wasn't even an upgrade. I'd love to hear thoughts on the A3000.
if i have a samsung smart tv (for example the new neo) with the solar remotes can i use that remote universally for the tv & the sony soundbar OR do i have to use two remotes, 1 for tv, 1 for soundbar?
The cool thing about eARC over HDMI is that you can simply adjust the audio on your TV and it should adjust the speaker system as well. I haven't personally encountered a time when that didn't work that way, so it should be the norm. The controller for the Sony speakers does have the ability to balance certain things like the sub volume, etc.
so you dont go for the HT-A7000? but then have the latest and best offerings from Sony pairings to the soundbar in their subwoofer and rear speaker??? why not have the HT-A7000?
They sent these to me.
The A5000 is a very good speaker set, snob
My sound bar always displays "Dolby Audio 48khz".... does it ever display "dolby atmos"? Or are those 2 the same thing? Thank you!
When I turn on the soundbar, will it automatically turn on the rs5 rear speakers ? Or do I have to turn each speakers on one by one ?
Automatically
I am planning to buy one
I need an answer in one word. Honest reply
HT-A7000 + SA SW5 + SA RS5
Or
HT-A9 + SA SW5
I am so confused.
Super clear and crazy
Have you tried the Acoustic Center Sync?
yeah! The TV shockingly has great audio quality. Super unexpected on a TV.
I definitely think so! It provides more space in the sound and the ones I had in this video also shoot in so it gives it height.
i’m also wondering this i’m not sure if i should just point them straight at each other and i’m in between them?? not too sure
@@ughToxic having the height from speakers that bounce off of the ceiling is totally worth it.
@@ThisIsTechTodayfor the price difference do you think the $300 price difference is worth for the RS5 or should i go with RS3 , i have the A7000 and SW5
@@ughToxic yes
can i just ask what sony tv are compatible with this does it have to be a XR series?
Hi I have the same soundbar but I can’t see anything on my a95k screen is a black screen hdmi3 and ears respectively thank you
Brilliant. Thank you for the video …..
sa-sw3 or sa-sw5 which should i prefer? PLz guide

Really nice sound system's awesome 👍😎
It really is!
Can you use 4 speaker from front and rear ??
Does it having 3.5 mm aux in jack..?
Could you use both rs3 rs5 speakers at the same time for a combo system experience
Not yet maybe with a firmware update someday
can you tell me do the rear speakers add a deeper bass to the the overall sound, I have just the sound bar and I’m wondering do the rears contribute in the bass department
Do the surround speakers have power plugs and inbuilt batteries?
Only the RS5 has built in batteries. The rest you just plug into power!
how come nobody talk about the input or out put jack hidden on the back of this barsound ?
Can anyone help me in the selection of which one would be better for home..
Thank you in advance for helping
I am confused between sony Ht- A5000 vs Sonos Arc
I am not a technical guy,but both seems to be similar..!!.
Is this friendly with Apple TV ?
Yes I approved it is a excellent sound to watch TV great innovation?
Yeah, it's great!
I would like your thought on the RS3S vs RS5
Go with the 5s. Upfiring speakers are a big deal.
Does anyone know whether can we pair two subwoofers to A5000 ? 🥺
1 only and 2 rear speakers only....so far maybe until firmware update?
Is sub woofer needed with this bar
A sub definitely helps with all sound bars to fill up the sound. Depends on how much low end you want.
for the price we pay I can’t believe sony doesn’t even give any EQ option considering the sub and rear speakers are pricey, also they need to give up with the cheap remote
Do you think Sony's 360 audio is more immersive with better Atmos than the other default which is Dolby DTS?
I prefer Atmos proper (speakers mounted around the room). That's quite hard to pull off though for most.
I mean... Do you think the mapping is better than the other 2 options in the soundbar - 1.Dts neural or 2. Dolby speaker VIRTUALIZER?
Okay 5.2.1..
5 soundbar speakers
2 rear speakers
1 subwoofer
I'm new to this but the third decimal is height channels to my understanding.
I wonder how many people would do the A5000 with the RS3S over just the A7000 alone. Most applications only put out 5.1 max right?
How’s the latency?
There shouldn’t be much latency at all on any soundbar. That seems problematic for watching anything.
Can you do the same test with the 7000 sound bar
Unfortunately, I don't have the 7000 bar 😞
As long as it’s loud and low enough, I don’t care. For a speaker bar, this is perfect
I have this TV will be getting and good to know
Nice!! Glad to help
Sony is back.wish they could have sent me this package to
Haha, I am very privileged and grateful. It's a pretty amazing setup!
is it good for music?
Of course!
Is RS5 much better than RS3S ?
Definitely. You can even hear the difference yourself in the video, lol. Everything I said was true in the video.
How does it do against Samsung's best HW-Q950A?
I haven't personally tried it, but I would be skeptical if they have the same tech for phantom speakers in a dome formation all around you like on the Sony's. The obvious thing is that matching brands between your TV and Sound system tend to have their benefits, and if image is your main focus, then what you choose for a TV will be the deciding factor.
I can confidently say that the Sony A90J has been the best TV I've ever owned and even the speaker in the TV is astoundingly good and full.
@@ThisIsTechToday Thank you for answering. :) I have a Samsung Q90R 75" today. Would the Sony loose some of its features on a non-Sony TV?
Thanks for the video mate, but I'm just commenting to tell you that you got your PS5 upside down, lol. The disc tray is supposed to be on the bottom.
Secret engagement hacks 101, put your PS5 upside down so everyone comments about it 😅
Swapping the legs of that TV to get it up means having to buy another and uninstall and reinstall that giant TV, that's definitely more an inconvenience than you made it seem to be, well it would be for me
Why do these videos not use the A7000 instead? Thank you.
Wonder what those plant did to be put on time out
😅
I like the set up 🔥
but
Don’t have money to buy what a life 😑
Dear Sir, I have just bought Sony HT-A5000 soundbar without rears and Sw but I think it is a good quality product.
What's the TV stand is what I wanna know 😂😁
Good question! I updated some links. Here are some for ya!
