Chat telling him that all he missed in the STCR dorm was some ammo pissed me off. Sure it's not mandatory, but there's a cool unique NPC in there and some lore.
Chat really went out of their way to trigger Pats OCD with this, I felt like he'd gotten better about it in recent years but damn some of this was hard to watch.
The fact that he looked like he was going to throw up after killing 2 enemies because he was panicking about not having enough ammo, and then immediately going back to the box where I can see he has more ammo than I ever saw in one place for the entire game was tough. No offense to him since I'm glad he does enjoy survival horror, but I don't know how he ever got into this genre in the first place when the goblins can be triggered that hard by it.
It amazes me sometimes how Pat just can't help but stick to the older survival horror mindset of "don't fight enemies". If you have so much ammo that you're literally having to keep putting it away because you're carrying too much to carry other stuff, that means it's okay to clear a room if there's an annoying enemy in it.
Pat being a Resident Evil veteran and then feeling bad (??) that he used ammo on two monsters stalking a hallway with multiple doors that he has to pass through multiple times and then NOT burning the corpses is driving me insane.
All he had to do is burn one corpse and just dodge around the single monster. I haven't watched part two yet, but I can already tell he's going to end up with so much thermite and an unreasonable amount of ammo by the end of the game.
Chat was particularly obnoxious this stream kept trying to backseat pat, shooting out spoilers (mechanical and plot) among other things. had to give up on watching it since I did not want to get spoiled past the point I played up to... which ended up happening due to chat.
Oh yeeeaaaa Chat is a real ass sometimes, especially when it comes to games like Mass Effect, or literally any other game where you have the possibility of missing things. Chat will forever want the most perfect, 100% no-flaw playtrough, in which no bullet is wasted, no rock is unturned, and every puzzle is solved at hyper speed levels. It's the number one reason why i do not like that Pat has added chat to the side of the screen, because now it is unavoidable.
This sounds like what Pat described the Omori chat being like. It takes a special type of obnoxious chat for me to say “yeah it’s not even debatable that pat’s reaction is justified”

I though so too but it makes sense within the wider plotline of this game, spoils below The entire plot takes place in a dream within a cryopod of Ariane, who, due to isolation in space and radiation poisoning just wants to fucking die and elster, the main character who fell in LOVE with her can't bring herself to do so, forever trying to overcome her love for Ariane and doing what needs to be done. The entire game is basically a sentient android coming to terms with having to put her lover out of her misery, and nearly everything that happens in the story is a mix of Arianes memory + bioresonant dream bullshit.

Dude, you're carrying so much ammo that you can barely hold it all. Just shoot every zombie you see. Spending ammo is preferable to wasting health-items.
I've found that this game has really good balancing as far as ammo goes. If you take down every enemy in the early game as you're encouraged to do, ammo gets really tight as you continue on, and you have to pick and choose which threats you can safely ignore and not spend ammo on, and the ones you absolutely have to eliminate. Not to mention that enemies can and will get back up if you don't spend another resource to completely kill them.
Pat's been cursed by old PS1 horror games being balanced so poorly that you could either hard lock yourself out of progress because you didn't have enough bullets to kill the mandatory boss or the games treated your gun as a last resort, where you were suppose to dodge enemies until you were forced to kill to not take damage.
