@@nimaj53The Parsi community's migration to India traces back to the 8th century when they sought refuge from religious persecution in Iran during the Islamic invasion. Upon their arrival in India, they were graciously welcomed by the Hindu king of Gujarat. It's important to note that not all Zoroastrians who migrated to India from Iran are referred to as Parsis; rather, only those who settled in Gujarat are known by that term. Over the centuries, the Parsis have become renowned for their contributions to various sectors in India, including business, industry, arts, and philanthropy. Notable figures like Homi Jehangir Bhabha, the father of India's nuclear program, and the Tata family, owners of the Tata Group, have emerged from the Parsi community. Today, the Parsis are recognized as one of the wealthiest and most charitable communities in India, leaving a profound and lasting impact on the country's social, cultural, and economic landscape.

Lol how? Iranians under Islam established some of the greatest empires and civilizations in the world. The Persian language had a profound impact on the culture and language of the regions of central and South Asia and it could be found even today. Some of the greatest scholars and scientists in Islamic Iran include ibn sina, imam gazali, Omar khayyam , imam Bukhari etc. This is something which was unfound in pre Islamic Iran. You guys are so delusional. Your hatred for Islam makes you to make such ridiculous arguments. Iranians are and will remain proud Muslims.
I have to say that a Zoroastrian Iran would have a MAJOR influence in the Muslim World for several reasons: 1. Persian culture and philosophy heavily influenced Islam. Without Iran, it's likely contact with India would be less, and hence, entire fields like mathematics would not have developed the way they did in our timeline. 2. Iran and Afghanistan were the basis for the Abbasid Dynasty, which later conquered the Ummayads in the 8th century and promoted the Golden Age of Islam. Without the Abbasids, the Ummayads might have survived, meaning the Arab World would be far less intellectually developed, a lot poorer, and far less relevant. Incursions into Europe will never happen due to Ummayad instability at the Byzantine's borders, and also due to massive revolts in North Africa and Iberia led by dissenting Muslim sects called the Kharijites, who HATED the Ummayads. In this timeline, and thanks to Kharijism, Iberia would remain Muslim since the areas under Kharijite rule (like Algeria) experienced mass conversions, which were discouraged by the Ummayads, who later ruled Iberia. 3. No Ummayad rule in Iberia would mean a more stable and more Muslim Kharijite south, as well as a stronger Christian North. I doupt, however, that either would conquer the other, instead remaining separate entities to this day and fighting over central Iberia. 4. With the Mongol conquest (if it happened at all since Gengis Khan invaded Iran due to a Khwaresmian provocation), the Muslims in the West would have also been anhiliated, with only Kharijite North Africa and Iberia surviving. 5. No Abbasids means no Turkic migration because there wouldn't have been a Battle of Talas. This means the Chinese and Buddhism would still be influential in Central Asia and among Turkic peoples. This also means that the Byzantines would survive since there would be no Turkic migration into Anatolia.
Kuro Azrem, that is a fine analysis, but like the original video there is are things not accounted for. Like - would the Byzantine Empire now be weaker or stronger? This has huge impacts on western societies too. And let's not forget butterfly effects an wildcards. Persian Zoroastrianism wouldn't have to remain untouched by time either. Different rulers and dynasties might emerge; Turkish-Zoroastrian or even further spread of Buddhism doesn't sound tofsfh
Byzantine can't survive you just found Ottoman empire with Buddhist or Zoroastrianism as Thier major religions And a Janissaries who came from Christian children and convert to Buddhist or Zoroastrianism same as out time
1- Persian philosophy didn't heavily influence Islam( Islam would still thrive) 2- the arab world would still be rich and intellectually developed ( no one depended on the Persians, and most science/literature was made in Bagdad or translated from Greek books) 3- Iran would be intellectually deprived of Islams/Arab discoveries and science therefore a poorer weaker country
Non-official polls in Iran show around 8% of Iranians are Zoroastrian now, and its growing. Alot of persian anti-islamic nationalists and anti-regime ppl are starting to convert to it as a kind of objection of the islamic regime.
The whole "veil-up-the-women-completely" idea was introduced into Islam by Persian traditionalists pretty early, when Iran was converted. While modern zoroastrianism doesn't define itself over such garments, I do believe that ancient hardcore former-zoroastrian prudes had a certain impact on Islam that way.
@@jax1995 the "veil up the women idea" is _2000 years older_ than Islam, and was highly customary in Persia, right at the time of the islamic conquest too. In Muhammad's teachings (afaik) the veil only had a minor importance, but under Persian influence, it became way more important for islam. Cultures exchange ideas, and all.
Muslim mosques are designed based on Mazgats( Mazgat or Mazdagata that means the place of Ahuramazda), a specific fire temple with domes and burning fires under the dome, in many muslim mosques you still can find Minarah that basically means fireplace. Even the Mihrab that is a place that a muslim priest stands to pray and determines the direction of Qiblah is like Mehrab in fire temples that determines the direction of sun and Zoroastrian priests put the holy fire there and stand to pray beacuase in Zoroastrian religion the direction of praying should be toward light and Mehr in Persian means light. Some scholars says Ab was Hap or Ap that means honouring in Avestan so Mehrab means honouring the light but other scholars believe Ab here is changed from Av and Ave that means a room and a place built in the form of a dome and Mehrab means the place of praying toward Mehr and because after Islam new muslim Iranians used Iranian architecture to build their mosques, they built all mosques in the form of domes and they made the part of standing the priest a half-dome and called it Mihrab. You should read more about Iranian architecture and its influence on Islam to get a deeper understanding of it.
@@ramzan6949 As I said, there were specific kind of fire temples that mosques are based on them. Also it's important to know Sasanian and Parthian architecture so you can see the obvious similarity. Islamic architecture is nothing but the continuation of Parthian and Sassanid architecture. In many mosques, there are still pre-Islamic symbols even in the decorations of the mosque. Also, it is well recorded in the history of Iran that the Arab Muslims destroyed many fire temples in order to build a mosque on their ruins. After the Muslim Arabs encountered the four-arched fire temples, these buildings were transformed into modern mosques by the hands of Iranian architects. A very good example is the fire temple of Azar Goshnsap, where the element of the dome was well used in its structure. Also, after Islam, the first examples of post-Islamic architecture, in today's form, were made in Khorasan, Iran. Jame Mosque in Tabriz is another example of the transformation of the fire temple into a mosque.
@@ramzan6949You have confused the 1500-year-old fire in the Yazd fire temple with the fire temple itself. The oldest fire temples are located in today's Tajikistan, which are more than 5000 years old. After them, the fire temple of Nobahar in Balkh is placed. The most famous fire temples of Sassanid Iran are the fire temples of Azar Ghoshnsap, the fire temples of Azar Barzin Mehr and the fire temple of Azar Farnabagh, each of which had its own special function.
@@sarabkh79 Most persian became Muslim in the period of Abbasid chilaphate. Ummayad chilaph didn’t wanted to non Arab especially persian to become Muslim. I visited persepolis and various ancient historical sites of Iran but i find that there are major difference between pre Islamic Iranian Architecture is mostly different from post Islamic architecture. Most Iranian renowned mosque or Architecture were built in the period of Taimur lang rule. You have no idea that how Muslim prayer ceremony are performed, the leader of prayer stand in the front line alone and others behind the imam, this is created the idea of mehrab in mosque , mehrab is also an Arabic word. The idea of minarate come from Azan, when muazzen calling to prayer they used taller hill or infrastructure so that Muslims can heard prayer call or Azan. So in prophet time mosque had mehrab and minarte. So Mosque is not influenced by the Zarathustraian daneshgah or fire Temple, i have also seen how Zarathustraian perform their prayer. World earliest dome was first built in Babylonian civilization not persian civilization. Early Persian architecture and civilization were mostly influenced by Babylonian civilization such as idea of Garden when Cyrus occupied Babylon in Iraq.Arab people are also semetic they share common history and ancestry with all semetic people and civilization. So mosque Architecture was not come from Zarathustraian fire Temple.
@@ramzan6949 Well, these are the things that they tell you so that you don't feel bad that you are worshiping in a place that is essentially Zoroastrian. At the same time as the Umayyads, many Iranians became Muslims because they could not afford to pay heavy taxes on non-Muslims called jizya. Many Zoroastrians were forced to migrate to India to maintain their religion. The Arabs used to insult the Iranian muslims as Mawali, and they carried out large-scale massacres in many cities of Iran, and any uprising of the Iranian people was severely suppressed. Mihrab does not have a correct meaning in Arabic, because the name of the place in Arabic is based on maf'al, maf'il and maf'ala, and mif'āl, which is for naming tools, cannot be used for mihrab.Linguists have looked at the derivation of mihrab from harb with doubt and believe it to have a non-Arabic origin, and in Arabic texts, taking into account the appropriateness of usage, they have translated mihrab as palace, pavilion, and the highest place to sit. Ibn Battuta writes in his travelogue that the mosque at the time of the Prophet had four walls without a roof and they created columns with palm beams and covered its roof with palm skin. It was during the time of the third caliph Osman that the Mihrab was added for the first time and we know how the mazgats gradually turned into mosques from the time of Omar. Early mihrabs in mosques such as Damascus Mosque and Tulun Mosque have a clear impression of the Trinity of Mithra, and like Zoroastrian temples, they have a large altar in the middle and two altars on both sides. Even in mosques with one mihrab, this trinity is clearly visible in the upper part of the mihrab, like the prayer place of Omar in the Al-Aqsa Mosque. In the Quran, the word "altar" is repeated 4 times, but all 4 of them have nothing to do with Muslims and are related to Jews, who were very influenced by Iranians in their religion. The use of the mehrab in Iran is attributed to the time of the mythological king Jamshid, who was the manifestation of the god Mithra on earth, and the mehrab of Jamshid has been mentioned many times in Persian books. Also Persepolis is not the only historical building in Iran, and Iran has many historical buildings that are being destroyed due to the deliberate neglect of the Islamic Republic, such as many fire temples. The oldest remaining example of a dome from the ancient period in the world related to the Parthians is called Bazeh Hur, which dates back to more than 2000 years ago in Khorasan, Iran. In Iraq, which is considered the territory of Iran since before Islam, the use of the dome has non semetic roots, before the Babylonians, it was the Sumerians who used the dome in their buildings, and we know that the Sumerians were not Semites. Recent discoveries in the ancient site of Chaghamish Hill (6800-3000 BC), located in Dezful plain (ancient city) | Dezful, Iran, show the use of mud bricks and clay structures in the construction of the dome. The meaning of the word minara (place of fire) confirms its Zoroastrian origin. Still, in the ancient languages and dialects of Iran that are popular in smaller cities, people call the mosque, Mazgat. The mosques related to the beginning of Islam outside of Iranian territory in Hijaz, did not have the features of today's mosques and were simple rooms. The construction of the oldest example of a mosque after Islam in Iran is Fahraj Grand Mosque in Yazd, which dates back to the first half of the first century of the Hijri, but the main building was from the works of the Sassanid period (another fire temple turning into a mosque), which was built with the arrival of Islam and originally during the time of Omar. If you have seen the worship of Zoroastrians, then you should know how they pray five times a day and how their prayer time, which is based on the exact movements of the sun in the sky (the importance of light and the sun), is the same as the prayer time of Muslims, and each time has its own special name, which has a clear message for those who think. In the end you cannot claim other civilizations even if they are Semitic. This is like Jews claiming other Semitic civilizations for themselves or an Iranian claiming European civilizations. So ridiculous.
I mean the Persian imperial system survived the Muslim conquest and payed a huge role in continuing a Persian identity, I don’t see why not specially if Islam never came
The Islamic Republic in Iran doesn’t allow men and women born in a muslim family to freely choose their religion, and so many who wish to revert back to Zoroastrianism cannot do that.
i saw a doco where a guy visited a Zoroastrian temple in eastern Iran, where they have kept a sacred fire burning for 2000 years. That should count as one of the Wonders of the world.
Unesco wouldn't like that.they don't even want to write down scientist and poets who clearly identified as iranian in their works as iranian.and the islamic regime likes that and even cooperates with them.
Very interesting thought experiment. Though unfortunately the comment section like anything online surrounding Zoroastrianism tends to contain more people shitting on Islam than prople genuinely interested in discussing Zoroastrianism.
5:15 without arab conquered, Persian would stopped turkic settlement in western central Asia, so western central Asia would be iranic and likely adopt Persian religion
If Avestan and Arabic text look that similar, and the former is much older, then it's clear which was the artistic source for the style, unless it's an epic coincidence which I doubt. That alone is very interesting and may change how people view the interactions between Arabs and Aryans. Yes, the Arabs conquered Iran, but the Aryans may have been who ultimately legitimized and solidified the Arab culture itself.
Avestan origin is Aramaic so still older than Persian and more related to Arabic, arab culture legitimized itself by itself with its various scientific discoveries and language unification
Depending on if it was a theocracy again or not it could have arguably been worse, since it'd be the only Zoroastrian country it would discriminate towards more people, but if it was secular, it would have been more like the old Sassanid Empire government policy towards other religions, more specifically, Anushirvan's government.
Zoroastrianism with king Cyrus II was in fact the first form of democracy back in 530-540 BCE. In other words Zoroastrianism is not about ‘tolerance’ but the recognition and acceptance of all. Most likely it could have served as a model of justice globally.
How expansionist is Zoroastrianism? Christianity and Islam generally tell followers to convert other nations which often served as a casus belli for invasions or colonization. If Zoroastrianism isn’t like that then it’s possible that we would have a Zoroastrian heartland in Iran with significant minorities in surrounding areas. A strong Persian Empire that isn’t Muslim might also check Arabization into Central Asia and India. It’s even possible without a good sea base the Muslim traders might not have been significantly powerful enough to spread it to Southeast Asia.
Depends on how the dynasty in controll decides the acheamid didn't force anyone same with parthians but sasanids try to spread the religion more than the others
Iran: a great civilisation, incl with its Zoroastrism. Until VII century when gulped down & digested by Islam. Iran cannot be great again under Islam. Fortunately, Iran preserves some of its former identity, and together with free & democratic modernity it could relevantly revive
Answer: Persia would have been one of the greatest leader of the whole globe. Most cultured place. Islaam was the biggest curse on Zoroastrians and Hindus.
IMO I think it would be interesting if the Arab caliphate would redirect it's focus from Iran and into Anatolia, so we get the Greeks absorbed into Islamic culture instead of the Persians and Islam is seen as more of a Western focused region. I'd also imagine there could be a larger Manichean influence in Iran, perhaps one of the Central Asian khanates that conquers them follows that religion and attempts to spread it there.

I think Zoroastrian would’ve probably had some Europe mentality like the crusaders and us vs them homogeneous culture. And many don’t know this but before the Arab conquest the Azeri were Persian speakers azer literally means fire in Zoroastrianism. The Arabs forced them into forgetting there true language so they would’ve forget there Persian language. And give them Turkic slave which was popular slave trade in Muslim world for mentality. If this conquest ever didn’t happen I do believe Iran would’ve been even expanded into the caucuses region. And with the crusades against Muslim and Buddhist they would grab some part of Iraq and forced them into Zoroastrianism just like Spain in Europe. And in 1700 because of Russian conquest of Central Asia there would been alliance formed between Zoroastrianism and Russians Which would’ve led into another manifest destiny for both of those nation and some sorta way a “indo-European alliance” Which would’ve saw the Buddhist as almost as like the natives in the America’s which would’ve forced them out of Central Asia. And we could’ve sawn this century Russia even expanding into east china and diminishing the Asian sphere of influence in Central Asia. And with Pakistan and Afghanistan and Tajikistan and some part of Uzbekistan and Azeris I do believe because of there culture similarities this regions would’ve been a majority Zoroastrian. But in this 1700 there would be probably wars between russia and the Zoroastrian which would eventually after centuries of war came out as stalemate. Because of high population of both sides and high technology which would’ve slow down both sides advancement. And because of how the Zoroastrian were ahead of there time they would’ve probably been the first in 2000s to have space federation. Which would later follow up with the European countries Muslims and Asians. To describe the Zoroastrian they would’ve probably been the Spanish of space. But with recent revival of Zoroastrian which is now spreading in Iran and the turning of Iran into full Persian. Country and spread of Zoroastrian in Tajikistan I think we’re gonna dramatically see Iran changing there script of language and religion which would start a major war in bid of Islam to keep them in there sphere.
I feel like a Byzantine persian alliance would become more normal but by the mongol conquests, i can't say, although i think you're right without persia directly linking islam to the rest of central asia any proceeding caliphate would not be stong enough to completely defeat combined Persian Byzantine assaults (although i don't they would find much success either as egyt and indian trade would stil be alive and well) in the end i think this just means anatolia might remain more Greek Christian but with many turkish warlords and people who would both be Christian and Muslim and iran more persian with still some Islamic influence. But also i feel like Russian Orthodoxy might take the the place of islam in many parts of central Asia as there are records showing of Christian communities living in the area prior to islam existing but also zoroastrianism in there too
Bad timing for Iran at the time of arab muslim invasion. After the death of Shahanshah Khosro Parviz, Iran had internal power crisis. In a short time many kings took power and dethroned. but it would eventually be solved as before if there wasn't that bad timing of arab invasion for Iran. There was a guy named Atila Hun (similar to Genghis Khan) at time of Sassanids (not bad timing one) and couldn't do anything. they changed their route to Europe and Rome and terrorized them. If Iran didn't defeat to arab muslims. Iran would regained it's stability and would pushed back arab muslims to the deserts of arabia. Iran would be one of the top countries in military, science, economy, ... as before. At the time of Pahlavi dynasty, Iran was on the path to be one of the top 3 countries in the world in economy, ... but western governers like carter had devil plans and cause the Dark 1979 islamic so--called revolution and .... But todays lots of Iranians are leaving islam because they know and feel in every day of their life that islam is the cause of these dark ages of Iran.
Islam basically wants you to become 7th century arabia. Iran is too great for that. Thousands of years of history and culture shouldn't just be thrown away to desert cult.
Iran without Muslim wouldn't be either 100 % Zoorastrain If there would be no Islam in persia there would be Zoorastrainism, Christianity, and some new Persian Religion
Seems like the first Muslim missionaries to Indonesia were Arab, but later Indian Muslims also spread Islam. So likely less Muslim but still some Muslim
This was actually really good, way better than the other youtubers who do this. Still, i dont agree it would be china aligned, especially considering the fact the country as you predicted would be essentially an enemy of russia after unifying with its communist puppet. Russia might even have ambitions in iran because of that. Secondly, alignment with china and against the west mainly stemmed from the fact modern iran hates america and wants to destroy it, which probably wouldnt be the case with a Zoroastrian iran. in fact, i believe iran would be a lot more secular than it is today, as it was headed that direction thanks to the western aligned shahs which, as i said, would probably exist in this case as well.
Iran has given birth to two world faiths - Zoroastrianism, some three thousand years ago, and the Bahá'í Faith, in the 19th century. Ironically, the followers of both have been despised and persecuted in Iran itself. Although the Iran officially makes a show of honoring its Zoroastrian community, Zoroastrians have traditionally been treated as second-class citizens in Iran, with the result that large numbers opted to emigrate to India. Bahá'ís also bear some responsibility for the shrinking of the Iranian Zoroastrian community, as many converted to the Bahá'i Faith during the 19th century. It's fascinating to imagine what might happen were Iran's fundamentalist Islamic regime to relax it's grip and desist in its persecution of Bahá'ís, seeing as the Bahá'í Faith, which wholeheartedly recognizes the truth of Zoroaster's teachings while embrasing Iran's Islamic traditions, offers an attractive alternative to the fundamentalist Islam with which most Iranians seem totally disenchanted.
Thank you for doing a commentary on the country I was born and raised in with your 2 hours of research. You conclusion could not have been more wrong. Iran would be completely different if it didn't fall under Islam and 100s of years of Arabization (through rape, slavery and mass murders of thousands of Iranians) which is still on going by the Islamic Republic (which is incredibly anti-iranian). You know obviously nothing of the Iranian culture, and you dare to say it would be the same. Shame on you for creating such content with such limited research. Specially at a time where Iranian are fighting and dying for their freedom to get their cultural freedom from the Arabized Rulers. Just to educate you a little bit, Iranian sub cultures although share minor difference with each other share far greater bond and similarity that you realize. "without a unified Caliphe Government to promote the new Persian" is the most ignorant and false statement in your entire video ( and you made plenty of prediction that were super off, due to your lack of knowledge on our culture). I dont directly blame your lack of knowledge of the Iranian culture either. The Islamic Republic has been suffocating and doing its best to erase and falsely (Arabized) represent the Iranian custom and cultures both inside the country and outside. Literally re-writing the history books, demolishing historical sights, banning Iranian customs and celebrations).
@@wildviper So many possibilities. One big one that you missed was that the Arab conquests would most likely never even picked up momentum. They raided our resources to finance their fights against the Romans and expand into North Africa. Most likely Christianity however would have counties spreading into Iran and vice Versa our religion would expand into Anatolia. If Arabs would fail to Arabize all of their neighbors we would still have Egyptian spoken widely as well as Assyrian languages. So many knowledge that was burned down by the Arabs would be saved right now as well. In Iranian culture equality between women and men is far greater than what you realize as well, so civil rights would be 100x improved for generations.
@Amin Seyedi, It seems that this video got you thinking about and expressing your beliefs about an alternate history, which is good. No need to throw personal insults, perhaps they’re misplaced. What can be done to change the current state of affairs in your motherland? That is, “correct” for the rerouting that occurred?
@@joecat21 The issue is lack of proper research and making false conclusions that are incredibly surface level. It’s almost as if saying the Native Americans would have been in the same place regardless of whether different European countries invaded their lands, destroyed their culture, and forced their religion in them. I am not against on making such commentaries on other cultures and countries, but proper research is needed. On top of that Iranians are fighting the Islamic republic as of right now trying to get back their culture that has been suppressed by arabization for centuries, so the timing is a factor as well. This has nothing to do with what can be done with the current affairs of my country. And everything to do with the lack of knowledge on Iranic culture and what truly Arabization of Iran means.
@Amin Seyedi, We disagree. As I read your statement The issue is that you seem hostile towards others talking about your motherland if they weren’t born there. You start with your credentials, which in the world of debate are not important. I’m not sure I agree with the Native American analogy. But that is besides the main point. Also, I would like to hear about what you would do to change your country, how can you make it a better place??
I think that Kurdistan will remain Zoroastrian if Iran remained Zoroastrian. Kurds are still celebrating the Newroz, or Newroj which is an important day in Zoroastrian religion even though they are Muslims and Christians.
Your video neglected Hindustan and Hinduism mostly. Hinduism had existed prior to Zoroastrianism and there's a lot of influence in the philosophy. Even today, the largest population of them live and thrive in India where they fled from persecution by Islamic forces centuries back. Today's Afghanistan was a Hindu kingdom too and traces of Hinduism have been found in Azerbaijan and adjoining areas.
@@AYAM.M check the title of the video and then read my comment in context. The reality is that Zoroastrians were persecuted and fled Iran and took refuge in India. They assimilated with Indians, called Parsis, and became an integral part of India and that's the reason the Zoroastrian population even today is the biggest in India. A section of them migrated from India to USA, Australia from India and have a significant diaspora in those countries in the last 50/60 years. Even Armenians had a strong presence in India in the 1800/1900s. Of course, everything is not about India but you can't deny history.
@@dodul65 It still isn't about India because Zoroastrianism in this historical context deals specifically with that religion in relation to Iran, not India. Hinduism didn't influence Zoroastrianism in Iran; there are still Zoroastrians in Iran who didn't migrate to India. You bringing up India is one thing, but to bring up Hiduism is so irrelevant in regard to the topic the video is focused on. Take it easy on your ultra-nationalism, then accept that the world doesn't revolve around India.
I think you underestimate the British interest in Iran, not for their own benefit, but because if Russia controlled the whole thing it would have a warm water port, which would massively affect the balance of power. I think you underestimate the degree to which muslim subjugation affected Zoroastrianism, and I believe that even if it wasn't wholly missionary, it would likely still have a significant missionary wing. This would shape relationships with Buddhism, where in the east you would probably have fewer buddhists than you suspect, and also large communities in Hindustan and Avaganistan. Where they do overlap you likely have higher levels of tension, with the exception that some regions may have something like a survival of Zurvanism which syncretises the two of them. As a result, they would have less in common with China than you suggest, especially since the Chinese don't identify with religion in the way that westerners do. Others have mentioned that the Zoroastrians are famously trustworthy and industrious, which might lead to a more prosperous and stable Iran. While these traits have ancient heritage, so that even Herodotus mentions their honesty, my guess is that they became particularly concentrated due to the pressures of trying to maintain an ethnoreligious community in the face of significant external pressures. Therefore I think that this Iran might well be better off, it would not be quite so well as others have suggested.
All good and well but for future reference learn how to pronounciate the country's name it's Iran like India. It's not an Apple product. Be respectful don't be like your country's presidents and news anchors.
It is not a correct conclusion. Iran right now is on one of its weakest forma arguably after qajar dynasty its the second weakest form right now. In contrast , during achaemenian or sassanid dynasty iran was a super power. It is very likely that if the arab invasion never came as it happened , an strong iran would resist mongol invasion like mamlocks did at egypt later. So the history of world and everything would have been a lot different
In my opinion i think iran might have a future of becoming a Liberal society in the future considering when you look it up on Google it says that there are Christians, Jews and atheists living in the country
'Eye ran" lol is the correct pronunciation when speaking English, just how Persian speakers have a different pronunciation for the words American and America when speaking Persian. Neither are wrong.

. The sciences that developed in the Islamic Golden Age were foreign sciences and not the product of Muslims. Anyone could access these sciences without the need to link countries to one state like the Abbasid state. Sciences developed in Europe without the need for unification like Rome. + Muslims during the invasion of Iran burned Persian books and sciences under the pretext that they had the Quran and that was enough. Omar said in a hadith that there is no science after the teachings of Allah, meaning that the Quran is the best science and Allah told us everything we need in the Quran so we do not need the sciences of the infidels. Islam was the reason for scientific backwardness in the Middle East and still is. Perhaps if Persia had been Zoroastrian it would have developed science faster in the Middle East
If Iran were not a Muslim country, its geographical advantage of being equally connected to Europe and Asia, they would likely to become a wealthy regional power, which would inevitably be bombarded by the US. To link Europe and Asia is means to isolate US

Upon their arrival in India, they were graciously welcomed by the Hindu king of Gujarat. Over the centuries, the Parsis have become renowned for their contributions to various sectors in India, including business, industry, arts, and philanthropy.
I have to say that a Zoroastrian Iran would have a MAJOR influence in the Muslim World for several reasons:

Byzantine can't survive you just found Ottoman empire with Buddhist or Zoroastrianism as Thier major religions
And a Janissaries who came from Christian children and convert to Buddhist or Zoroastrianism same as out time
1- Persian philosophy didn't heavily influence Islam( Islam would still thrive)
2- the arab world would still be rich and intellectually developed ( no one depended on the Persians, and most science/literature was made in Bagdad or translated from Greek books)
3- Iran would be intellectually deprived of Islams/Arab discoveries and science therefore a poorer weaker country

Some scholars says Ab was Hap or Ap that means honouring in Avestan so Mehrab means honouring the light but other scholars believe Ab here is changed from Av and Ave that means a room and a place built in the form of a dome and Mehrab means the place of praying toward Mehr
and because after Islam new muslim Iranians used Iranian architecture to build their mosques, they built all mosques in the form of domes and they made the part of standing the priest a half-dome and called it Mihrab. You should read more about Iranian architecture and its influence on Islam to get a deeper understanding of it.
You should visit yazd oldest fire Temple, then you can differate Islamic architecture and sassanid architecture.

I wonder if a sect of Zoroastrianism called something like ''Messianic Zoroastrianism'' as a defense against Islam and Buddhism hmmm
And in 1700 because of Russian conquest of Central Asia there would been alliance formed between Zoroastrianism and Russians
Which would’ve led into another manifest destiny for both of those nation and some sorta way a “indo-European alliance”
Which would’ve saw the Buddhist as almost as like the natives in the America’s which would’ve forced them out of Central Asia.

Pakistan Zoorastrainism or Buddhism ?
I feel like a Byzantine persian alliance would become more normal but by the mongol conquests, i can't say, although i think you're right without persia directly linking islam to the rest of central asia any proceeding caliphate would not be stong enough to completely defeat combined Persian Byzantine assaults (although i don't they would find much success either as egyt and indian trade would stil be alive and well) in the end i think this just means anatolia might remain more Greek Christian but with many turkish warlords and people who would both be Christian and Muslim and iran more persian with still some Islamic influence. But also i feel like Russian Orthodoxy might take the the place of islam in many parts of central Asia as there are records showing of Christian communities living in the area prior to islam existing but also zoroastrianism in there too
Detailed analysis. Fantastic maps. Learned a lot. Great video!

I wonder if a sect of Zoroastrianism called something like ''Messianic Zoroastrianism'' as a defense against Islam and Buddhism

Lol Cope
The Mahdi shall rise again and he shall deal with you guys first
Islam basically wants you to become 7th century arabia. Iran is too great for that. Thousands of years of history and culture shouldn't just be thrown away to desert cult.
This definitely undermines how much better off Iran would have been as zoroastrian
Iran would have been most peaceful, developed, beautiful country, most civilized if islam had not entered iran!? 😮
please do an episode "what if the US and the whole west were normal countries and kept their head where it belongs?"
Iran without Muslim wouldn't be either 100 % Zoorastrain
If there would be no Islam in persia there would be Zoorastrainism, Christianity, and some new Persian Religion
If iran stays persian india also stays totally dharmic civilisation

Would Indonesia still convert to Islam?
Seems like the first Muslim missionaries to Indonesia were Arab, but later Indian Muslims also spread Islam. So likely less Muslim but still some Muslim
Parsis They still maintain the Zoroastrian religion.
Iran is still Zoroastrianism technically
Great vids
Plz also made a video if spain , portugal and phillipines ramained muslims and never converted forcibly into Christianity.
Yes but why do you use for this video the Iran and middle east Map of new middle east project but not the greater Iran.

Iran is give Islam a new form
Iran help Islam to spread
What do you think would happen if Iran wasn't conquered by Arab Muslims then?
@@wildviper
So many possibilities.
@Amin Seyedi,
It seems that this video got you thinking about and expressing your beliefs about an alternate history, which is good. No need to throw personal insults, perhaps they’re misplaced. What can be done to change the current state of affairs in your motherland? That is, “correct” for the rerouting that occurred?
@@joecat21
The issue is lack of proper research and making false conclusions that are incredibly surface level.
@Amin Seyedi,
We disagree.
You basically destroyed the Islamic Golden Age (and probably even Islam).
The islamic golden age was just the Persian golden age

I think that Kurdistan will remain Zoroastrian if Iran remained Zoroastrian. Kurds are still celebrating the Newroz, or Newroj which is an important day in Zoroastrian religion even though they are Muslims and Christians.
Current day Iran also celebrates Newruz. As well as Iranian influenced cultures in Central Asia.

This video is about zoroastrian not hinduism not everything has to be about india
@@dodul65
It still isn't about India because Zoroastrianism in this historical context deals specifically with that religion in relation to Iran, not India.
In short, there will be Peace ☮❤

What the hell is Islamism. Do you just mean Islam? Also have you heard of the Ottamans or the Mughals or the Mamelukes?

It is not a correct conclusion. Iran right now is on one of its weakest forma arguably after qajar dynasty its the second weakest form right now. In contrast , during achaemenian or sassanid dynasty iran was a super power. It is very likely that if the arab invasion never came as it happened , an strong iran would resist mongol invasion like mamlocks did at egypt later. So the history of world and everything would have been a lot different
In my opinion i think iran might have a future of becoming a Liberal society in the future considering when you look it up on Google it says that there are Christians, Jews and atheists living in the country

thanks for your great video i can say as iranian todays iran people arent influenced so much by islam we can say at the biggest point in now days there is atleast 15 or 10 million people who believe in islam in iran today and near 5more millions other religions or they believe in some part of islam but not some part of it most people seeks for zorastrian things much more in these days like the zorastrian Marriage or reading some scripts about it the huge amound of people mostly today doesnt care anymore about the religions but thats doesnt mean they dont care about thier history and their country most of us may be different from each other but our country is the only thing all of us have the same idea about it to fight for it no matter it costs and because of today failure of islam in iran happily we can say most of people can and will destroy the bones of government and make a new one out of it
and i think it can have a big impact atleast on the middle east like today we see the eqyptian people telling in media they are not arabs and have history
because islamic republic is one of they key things in the islamic world and with out it islam can be faded in countries like turkey iraq syria and even saudi arabia which the ruler take to many tasks to modernize the country i think in some cases we can see better relation with china and india like you said but its erupt some wars of religion but nothing can change the border because of people who will honor them selves for it
at the end most of us in iran may hate islam and arabs because they attacked us and their religions have some holes in it but thats deoesnt mean anything personal we dont want to seek revenge for a old war and start killing children and families like barbarian we can know most of people in middle east are not counted as arab but their own races but we accept our neighbors as what they are people are people most of the time leaders and rulers put them infront each others and we know it very well from every part of history in our own country
also this video had some holes about how arabs could invade iran im not sure about the castle but i know there were some people who worshiped abrahamic religion mixed with some zorastrian and more named mani and unfortunatly some of the followers betrayed us and help arabs at thats time and byzantine empire thought if the arabs attack persians they could use this as advantage for them selves but they did forgot thats you cant be friend with someone who already sold his soul to a god for killing other people in the name of him i hope someday not only my country but all countries can live peaceful life in this world full shits and thats can be happen only with the power of people not some celestial or spiritual power named god
I love the speculation but take poetry for instance. Do we know for a fact that Persians were at all into poetry before the Arabs invaded them?
I don't think poetry is more important than inventions and cultures and music and architecture and heritage and most importantly independent. just look how they were looked during sassanids and parthians and achaemenids, and now look at today's iran. bunch of turban wearers ruling over iran.
you are wrong about the alphanet, Iran gave it to them
Still would resist against Zoinism and West's tyrani for sure.
If Iran were not a Muslim country, its geographical advantage of being equally connected to Europe and Asia, they would likely to become a wealthy regional power, which would inevitably be bombarded by the US. To link Europe and Asia is means to isolate US
How do you know that the US would exist in this timeline?
What would have happened if the Muslims did not burn down the libraries of tisfoon and alexandria.but kept the books and the knowledge
Islam would collapse
lol i came here expecting some over the top Anti-islam alternative utopia but nah u did well it will still be a shit show there even without islam although the fact that Islam did have a lot of positive influence on Iran was not pointed as much, but well done was fun alternative history.
Great video!
