Man, Ice's movement with that trail mix bag should be illegal. 7:40 was _too_ clean.

Troubled Shepherd pretty easy to do especially with fox. since his has more start up time.

Otto's a very backair-heavy fox. It must be an old school playstyle because so many veterans perform similarly.

holy junk, my favorite matchup of top 64 up to this point
I've actually been wanting to see this matchup for a whille since Ice has been getting noticeably more crispy in the last year, about since idk smash summit 2?
Either way gg's they're both playing so well this tournament its so explosive yet controlled. I think Silentwolf has better recoveries, but Ice has better deep edgeguards. I think they're both great at normal edgeguards with Silentwolf definitely having some setups for some bread and butter cookie cutter quicky edgeguards that catch people off guard; but overall they both have some great tech and great neutral. Superrrr appreciating they were both doing so well this tournament, theres been some matchups I wanted to see in the past like Hax fox or PPMD or Leffen or Axe vs someone and its like it finally happens and they just have an off day, like no johns just its so much better to see FIREEEE VS FIREEEEE THEYRE ON FIREEEE

wtf was that shine spike at 2:43 literally killed him from the middle of the stage at 8%

Slow the video down and watch it closely.
Pause when the shine connects and you'll see that it didn't happen anywhere close to "the middle of the stage". Although it may look like that from first glance because of Ice's followup aerial, the shine was actually really close to the edge. What happened was completely normal.

Silentwolf has been around for a while, was in the top 10 the last 2 years. Even though he's inactive, he's still a great player. Ice is great and has definitely been leveling up in 2016, I can see him getting sponsored soon.

ice was sponsored by myInsanity but left after a year

Silentwolf has a good record overall with notable wins/upsets. Not at many tournaments but placing high out of nowhere for a while now whenever he does show up. Ice on the other hand only more recently started getting in a bunch of tournaments with a hand full of top placings, but all more recently? And I mean isn't like either player is significantly better than the other after looking at this video
If you want a different answer its probably because sponsors arent directly* correlated to how good you are in the game. Of course that helps, but whats also important is how known you are. Silentwolf is #1 in WA and was sponsored there first? He also seems to be good with all the NorCal/SoCal players and developed a lot of fox tech/had a tech combo video(thats huge, people think scar is still a top top player cause of his video) a super long time ago and is probably just all over smashboards with tech? Ice on the other hand is all the way over in Germany and is a great player of course [switched mains more than a few times], but within the American scene he's been underrated until recently with fox and was actually underrated during drafts for Smash Summit 2 (westballz was sayin you'd be crazy not to pick ice cause hes just soooo good, but he said the same about silentwolf too lol). Also other than this tournament there isn't any American tournament where he did amazingly well at for his rank? This tournament he did AMAZING though
