- Are you considering Towson? Did you recently commit to TU? Are you a current Towson student curious about what other students say about your school? Are you Kim Schatzel trying to figure out your school's reputation? In this video, I talk about what I wish I knew before I came to Towson!
TU is a unique school, with a lot of in-state students almost "ending up" here and many out-of-state students choosing to come here. This makes for an interesting college experience! From school size to student life to the graduation rate, I honestly talk about my experience at Towson and address some common Towson State stereotypes.
Towson is more intimate. You can find your corner and your people but it's not a mono culture and if you like being in multiple types of groups you will love it.

I didn't want to go to TU because I thought it would be too big. It definitely felt like a small school, though. I loved it as an undergrad and still love it as a grad student.
Yeah I totally get that! I honestly go through phases of liking vs not liking it. Overall I feel like the more involved I am on campus, the more I like TU

“Towson isn’t a lot of people’s first choice” Ouch! “The 4 year graduation rate is really low, its around 50%” Yikes! The one thing I would expect from a University is to actually PASS the Degree I am studying for!

I'm a senior in Highschool now but I guess I'm apart of the minority that genuinely want to go lol. But how long were you in Honors College?
I genuinely wanted to attend Towson when I was a senior as well! It was actually the only school I applied to. I was in the Honors College for three years. I definitely got to take some interesting courses, but in the end, the extra time commitment wasn't worth it for me any more. Good luck applying to schools this fall!
I go to Towson currently. I live with my parents right now but am looking for dorms from Fall 2021. I have never lived outside before so I am not sure about the whole dorm process. You mentioned "west village," I think. Can you please reply to this comment with which buildings are there and how I can apply? Thank you for the information.
I know this is a year late lol, but you can apply to either captsone managed dorms (WV1 or Tubman) or barton/douglass via the Towson website. The apartment style housing in west village you must be a sophomore or higher in order to live in those buildings.

I did meet my fiancé at school! I think it's about the same as anywhere else - if you put yourself out there and try new things then you'll be more likely to meet people
how expensive are the dorms?
Not too much, like 8k a year

Man i went to towson years ago. The one thing that I really would have known is how "clicky" it was then. Hope that has changed.

Most people graduate in like 4 and a semester which is nothing at all. It's just cause towson gives you alot of class freedom.
