Chris, you are my go-to. I'm a Bigfoot researcher, but the witness reports are critical to archive. I saw mine in 1985 in the Sierras hiking to Baboon Lake. It changed my life.

Very similar experience happened to me in 1998, upstate new york. Working on a property building a house in woodland. Sleeping in a small 1 man tent in the woods i suddenly woke up, something huge circled my tent.It was trying to be quiet but i could tell it was huge by the sound of its steps. Terrified i yelled, felt pure terror and dread. It was behind my head, it took one step right over the top of the tent to the front flap. I got my knife, terrified i opened the tent door to rush it. I woke up HOURS later at sunrise in exactly the same position with my knife in hand.
Had no idea what happened. Had several other strange things happen there that i now know had to be Sasquatch. At that time tho as 21 yr old from the UK and city life, i was not used to the woods, i had no idea what it could have been.
Thank you so much for your channel!!

Similar thing happened to me and my bf…we were dead asleep and I woke up when I heard *crunch, crunch. Clearly something walking on 2 feet outside the tent. I whispered “what’s th- and my bf was like “shhh” it made it more scary that he was suddenly awake too because the footsteps were clearly footsteps but they were quiet. Then we woke up in the morning..til this day,I don’t remember going back to sleep or anything after the “shhhh”

Infrasound is believed by scientists to be the oldest forms of audible communication. It travels faster and farther through solids and liquids that higher frequencies. When you think about how the lowest frequencies that we can hear, bass, travels for many blocks when you can't hear any of the other sound frequencies a passing car's blaring radio emits and even after travelling farther than all other audible frequencies it still shakes windows and vibrates solid objects. Infrasound is far more intense and performs much better than the bass that we hear.
Underwater creatures have always used infrasound to communicate or as a weapon to stun prey. Some sea animals communicate to distant oceans using infrasound. The forests were so dense when the dinosaurs roamed the earth that audible sound would have been muffled by the foliage quick. but infrasound would penetrate through the solid vegetation very effectively. That is why dinosaurs have resonating chambers that amplify infrasound. When you go to the movies and they have sound effects of loud dinosaur roars, the reality according to science is we probably couldn't even hear the roars because they were infrasound.
So all animals evolved the ability to detect infrasound so they could sense things at the greatest distance. For most it was hair-like structures that infrasound vibrated. This is why our fine hair on our neck and arms stands up when humans sense danger. Those hairs were either already sensing infrasound (which is why we sense danger), or where preparing to detect it more efficiently in order to detect the danger we sense. The infrasound would make the ground vibrate, and leaves vibrate, so the insects and other animals sense infrasound through contact with the ground and leaves. That is why all the critters all go silent at once. Each is sensing the infrasound in the way that their species evolved to sense it . But the same signal is sensed by all the species at once. Predators use infrasound on prey. They always have since everything lived in the oceans. Of course they also did so after evolving to live on land. We wear shoes an clothing so our little ability to sense infrasound at low volumes are even further hampered. But high volume infrasound can affect the human body in many ways that vary greatly by the individual. Try putting your fingers against the ground or a leaf when your hairs stand up on end because you sense danger. You may find that your sensitive fingertips may detect the vibrations the infrasound is causing. But if you listen to the insects and amphibians, they will let you know when infrasound that indicates danger is close by them all of the sudden going quiet. If you become one with nature you can use other creatures to sense the infrasound for you.

Trey, thank you for sharing an explanation of Infrasound with us. This would answer some of the questions such as, "why does it get so quiet when the Sasquatch is around? Why are encounters with this being often precluded by feelings of dread and terror?" I hope one day to find some tracks of these beings but would never wish for a direct encounter with them.

This is interesting because just yesterday a channel arrived in my feed and it was about Bigfoot and paranormal activity. You can find it easily if you look. According to the man telling his story a woman he knows is acquainted and friendly with a group of Sasquatch. The man wanted to experience them and the woman made this possible for him. He said they didn’t speak in language but he had questions and other statements that occurred to him as thoughts. He realized how incredibly intelligent the Bigfoot🦶🏾are and his attitude of fear toward them turned to respect and awe. I have been terrified of Bigfoot 🦶🏾because I’ve not met any. But I’m changing my attitude so that if I ever encounter them I can be a friend. The narrator has a mixed Native American and European heritage. He said the Cherokee interacted with the Bigfoot 🦶🏾. I think they will know that I would not harm them because when I was a toddler birds 🪶landed on my head, squirrels and wild deer 🦌 will come up to me and growing up I rode all the horses 🐎 that wouldn’t tolerate any other riders. I always thought I have good energy but I think I have a gentle and non threatening nature. Maybe it has something to do with my autism. It doesn’t mean I’m going hiking 🥾 or camping 🏕️ in the wilderness 🌲alone. I’m more concerned about human predators, bears, mountain lions etc. than Mr. Bigfoot 🦶🏾now. I feel a lot 🦶🏾🩷better. Keep telling the stories. You are helping us heal ❤️‍🩹.

I lived in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in the late 80's, and my girlfriends were not allowed to go into the Teton National Park or Yellowstone. I would never get a clear answer but was told that the locals keep things silent because of tourism. Also, that there was a fear of Grizzy's and the "hairy people". Eventually I did go up into these parks, with my best friend, but we were warned not to camp at night or go during our monthly cycle. So, we made "day trips" then came back out of the parks before sunset and stayed at the different lodges.

I took a road trip to a small Alaskan town I used to live, decided to park the van back in a valley next to a creek one night and went right to sleep . About 2-3 hours later I suddenly woke, not by any sound but by the feeling of intense fear. The only sound I could hear was the gentle trickle of water from the creek and nothing else. After laying motionless for a few minutes on my cot inside the van , eyes wide open and trying not to panic, I very quietly and slowly got out of bed , slipped my shoes on, eased into the drivers seat, turned the keys and drive out. The road put was a very short distance to a subdivision. By the time I parked down near the boat harbor I was at a normal stasis, the vibe was completely relaxed and I fell right to sleep. Back in the 1980’s a local police officer claimed to see a UFO back in that same valley which made him the subject of public ridicule, but while still I was in the van intently listening for any sound besides the creek I thought of that UFO sighting and considered that one might have been hovering about in the sky above.

Can't imagine looking out of my tent at ground level and seeing three outlines of very large figures towering over wee bitty ole me! I love your words at the end. It's a crazy world we live in. I actually know that dread feeling and I never want to feel it again. When I was a kid, we used to go up to northern Ontario, Canada and stay in a resort. One time I went exploring a trail that went up to someone's vacation home. There was a structure I still don't know what it was, man made of iron and stone. I disturbed it by opening a small drawer that was on the front. That was when the feeling came over me. I remember running back down the trail to the cottage where we were staying. Probably someone pointed a shotgun at me LOL.

It is not only a feeling of dread, but strong fear. I was driving alone and decided to visit a historic site which sits on the top of a mountain. I parked my car and started walking up the trail. I took 5 steps and this feeling of dread and fear came all over my body. I was shaking all over. I saw nothing. Infrasound is actually common in some of our larger carnivores, not just Bigfoot. The yells and screams people describe as being able to feel in their chests and vibrating inside of them, that’s infrasound. What suprized me was that lions roars use this infrasound and people can feel it with overwhelming sense of fear & dread. Like you and a lot of others I’ve been doing some research into all of this in the last few years. It’s very interesting. I live in Oregon at the base of Mt. Hood. Just fyi. Infrasound is one of the theories for the cause of the famous Dyatlov Pass incident. They think the wind blowing through the mountains where they were camped may have generated the infrasound which caused them to panic and experience some sort of psychosis. Not sure if they'll ever be able to prove it but interesting.

The local tribal people were well aware of the area and the danger that was known to inhabit or frequent there.

Chris, glad to hear you are up for more Sasquatch stories, since not too long ago you suggested you might want to change to other topics. And you are so good at this! Infrasound (infrasonic sound) is not paranormal; several species generate it, including elephants and tigers. I've heard quite a few people suggest that Sasquatch does as well. Interesting to hear that some researchers suggest that it can induce a feeling of dread or a paranormal sensation in humans. As for the Wind River story-I never camp close to a trail, especially in bear country, since animals use them too. Keep hiking!!

I loved that video because it offered some more insight into bigfoot behaviour. The infrasound explanation really chimed as an explanation of not only the unexplained fear that Carl woke up with but also the common "feeling of being watched". Your channel is doing much to normalize bigfoot, gathering together a wide range of bigfoot experiences and locations. It took over 50 years for the US Govt to acknowledge UFOs enough to begin studying them properly. I hope it doesn't take another 50 years for bigfoot to be acknowledged at Govt level, when ridicule is replaced with proper scientific study.

I can look at someone who is walking a hundred yards ahead of me, and make them suddenly turn around and look right back at me. I can't do the infrasound thing. The bigfoot was deliberately putting that out, because it wanted Carl to leave, quickly.

I haven't heard of the vibration effect before but I believe it's certainly possible. I absolutely believe they can mindtalk. I would be telling him please don't hurt me. I will be leaving at first light. 😅

Excellent theory. If you've ever watched horror or suspense movies no doubt you've been manipulated by infrasound, it's a favorite trick of crafty sound designers. Search for infrasound for sound design. I love the idea of Bigfoot's ability to use infrasound to stimulate the flight instinct., a sort of auditory "snow plow" to clear the way. "You know something is happening but you don't know what it is!" (-Ballad of a Thin Man", B. Dylan) . So many questions, isn't life grand?!

    Well narrated, and with feeling!
I've heard another bigfoot story similar to this one, with a strong feeling of dread for no apparent reason. It seems like a deliberate and rather effortless way of getting intruders to leave their territory. Why confront the intruder and make a great fuss when you can just make them want to leave ASAP?
These creatures, it seems, have an amazing array of capabilities.

I went to a talk in 2017 by Tim and his pal, Jim King, two guys who grew up with Sasquatch on their family farms. I recall they discussed how it feels to get hit with their infrasound. This talk is on UA-cam also.

Love your channel and stories. Also love the locations you pick for the videos. I believe that certain animals are capable of emitting infrasound, cats in particular. If you have been to a zoo and heard a lion roar, particularly when it’s hungry you can feel the vibrations in your body. When cats purr they are emitting a sound very close to the low frequency of infrasound. These purrs are thought to have actual healing properties. Hope this is helpful or interesting to you . Keep up the great stories and , of course Keep Hiking
