    I live in a small Norwegian town that is primarily known for high-tech defense development. We recently (i think it was May) sent a batch of prototype anti-drone weapons called CORTEX Typhon C-UAS. It uses a 30mm MRAP mounted cannon to obliterate drones. Apparently its really effective, and Ukraine's feedback is already being integrated into future upgrades. Not really super big news that gets talked about but i figured i'd share it for anyone interested.

      It's entirely up to them to assert their independence. They would do a lot better as a member of the EU.

    • @leonnunhofer3453
      @leonnunhofer3453 7 днів тому +24

      Yes, but they should be fully independent. At least I, as a German, don't want them back, because it's too expensive. It's too underdeveloped, it's gone for too long, and having a part of your country seperated in general causes huge problems. Between WW1 and WW2, Königsberg's economy scrumbled because of that.
      The german reunion already was very expensive, and the circumstances were much better.
      We also don't need the territory, we don't need the port, and, in general, I think, they could do great, if they were independent. Like a Luxembourg in the east.
      Other countries in the region could export via Königsberg, if it was independent and part of the EU.
      Some germans would like to take it back, but usually they have a mindset, where they think, territory matters, Germany deserves it, and they don't think about, how expensive it is, that there is nothing to gain from it, and how complicated it is, or what Russia did to the city.
      A part of my family is from Königsberg, my grandmother, and I loved her a lot, and her stories about her ancestors in and near Königsberg, so I have a connection to the city, but still, imo the city should be independent 🤷‍♂️

    It's really weird to me (as an inhabitant of a former eastern bloc country) to see that the citizens of a country that was even worse than mine (not qualitatively ofc, but in the sense that it was actually part of the big bad bear) do not fear but actually are fond of their police.
    Over here, you see on the police cars "safety and trust" but the only thing the average citizen feels when talking about police is FEAR because they dont want to do their jobs. In fact, they are so reticent that if you do actually call on them, they will turn on YOU because you had the audacity to request that they do their job. My heart is lifted to see the opposite for Estonia, honestly.

      I did a search of all Putin frontal pics and then used a morphing program to match pictures. Logically, if you have the same face in the two pictures, there shouldn't be much morphing.
      When I morphed two of his pictures (one that is the Putin that stays away from people while the other is the crowd pleasing one) I noticed something that you can't see looking at the 2 pictures.
      One Putin has a taller forehead and the other, a wider face. The one that has a taller forehead, has 4 wrinkles on the forehead. The other, has 3.
      Realistically, once you have wrinkles, you just can't remove wrinkles depending on the day you are out!!! lol
      The spacing of the eyes, the height of the eyes, changes between the two pics.
      Not scientific but using Magic Morph program from the early 2000's, proved to me, something isn't kosher with the Putin's.
      If someone has a better technic , please do share. ☺

In his mind he thinks the West is shaking at the sight of him in NK and Vietnam, when in fact the world laughs at his pathetic predicament. Last night I was watching the weather report while sitting at an Italian restaurant in the middle of nowhere Kentucky. Right after the weather there was a 7 minute discussion on everything going on in ukraine then another few minutes on Putin doing Putin things in North Korea. Actually heard other people talking about it 2. It genuinely made me so happy. It’s not war fatigue that grinds down Americans, for some of us we track it like other Americans track the Super Bowl or March madness basketball. It’s media coverage that slowed here but hot damn it’s coming back. Very seriously happy to see people discussing it.

    • @7171jay
      @7171jay 7 днів тому

      @johnh. Funny thing is NATO couldn't actually draw Russia to add forces anywhere because Putin knows that NATO isn't going to attack Russia preemptively in spite of all of his ridiculous claims of NATO expansion and that NATO "threatens" Russia. Russia removing their troops and equipment from NATO bordering countries like Finland shows up Putin's whining for exactly what it is... lies.

    Insane difference between the treatments of prisoners, by Ukraine and Russia. Prisoners of Ukraine well fed and treated. Prisoners of Russia emaciated from hunger and not well treated. Similar stories in mid-2022, from exchange prisoners. Civilised Geneva convention on one side, barbaric treatment by the other side. Harks back to the 20th century.....artificial famines and gulags, Ukrainians maltreated then whilst being the targets by Russia, artificial famines in black soil Ukraine, and 60 to 80% Ukrainians in the gulags.

    A multimillionaire can donate several hundred thousand, maybe a few million dollars. It's meaningful and he'll likely notice the hit in his bank account. The family of four earning middle income while sending their kids to public schools, when they find a way to donate a thousand dollars it is somehow more meaningful. Yes, it may have less tactical impact. But the demonstration of doing more with less so that your neighbor will be more secure is obvious and priceless. Your Police do Estonia proud.

    • @leonnunhofer3453
      @leonnunhofer3453 7 днів тому

      Yes, but often times people just see total numbers, and don't understand higher numbers. Just look at, how impressed people are, if a multi billionaire gives a million to a good cause.
      Even if it's someone with around 1 - 2 billion, who makes around 200 million a year, so less than f.e. Trump, who gives 1 million or more per year, it's the same, like a regular person here in Germany giving 50 euro, or even less per year. The average German gives more, f.e. for the church, environment, Ukraine or other countries, but it's something normal. 80 mio Germans donated over 10 billion in 2019, so around 125 euro per person per year.
      Now just imagine, how people would celebrate Trump, if he would give just 1 or 2 million per year. Or over 5 million, to match the 125 euros, the average german gave 2019. It would be global news, and still, in comparison to how rich he is, it just would be average 🤷‍♂️

    As a German, I feel the need to explain: Germany's post-war armed forces were never highly regarded when founded in 1955. The war veterans mostly did not consider the Bundeswehr a "real army", and by the end of the 1960s, due to the Vietnam War and the postwar generation learning about the many war crimes and atrocities the previous generation had committed, started abhorring everything military. Additionally, we are constantly reminded of the terrible sins of our past by war monuments/ruins and unexploded ordnance that often requires the police to evacuate whole city blocks until the bomb squad disarmed it. It is only now that many of our people learn about the values of having a strong military and that the old Roman saying "si vis pacem para bellum" is sadly not something humanity can ignore.
