Yup agreed. Probably the best action game ever made. Myself and my little sister played the hell outta this. When you mastered it you felt so 100 percent in control. It was so fluid, so fast and smooth. Incredible game. Rock solid 60fps and looked great for its time too!
Ninja Gaiden 4 next gen must happen, its unacceptable that we still have skipped this game multiple times. Its a true master piece when it comes to gameplay execution nd the level of violence and the sound effects. A next gen Ninja Gaiden 4 will be a huge comeback that many fans will be dearly happy including me. Ninja Gaiden must come back in a next gen treatment that is done properly and not rushed.
The difficulty system is also relentless. The enemy level upgrades in a way that it doesn't simply makes it a damage spounge, like many other games. It makers their AI smarter and forces early encounters with endgame versions of the enemy.

Capcom's recent flagship games DMC 5 and Resident Evil Village both felt weird at higher difficulties where enemies suddenly decide to stop flinching from clean power hits or battles become 5x as long mostly because of HP inflation than new tactics

When you choose harder difficulty in Ninja Gaiden Black, you will face new enemies,. They did not just buff up the same enemies. This really blew my mind at that time and make the game so replay-able. And to me the best fights are Ryu vs them Dark Ryus. The bosses literally taught me some new combos, like slash --> kick to the air --> throw incendiary shuriken --> kick away, boom --> Flying swallow =))) Best action game ever.

Just replaying again on Very Hard on XSX (the update to resolution and frame rate). This truly is the GOAT. Combat was focus of video but other pros: Each new difficulty felt fresh The kinda 'resident evil/metroidvania' approach to level design compared to later iterations. Light Platforming and puzzles to break up combat. Omission from other iterations. So many costumes and unlockables and mission mode.
It’s easily the best balanced game overall, in addition to being one of the best action games. NG2 would win best action game at the game awards but it wouldn’t be nominated for GOTY like Black would.

His philosophy about this franchise is what made it great. When he was forced to leave the franchise, it's gone down hill since then. In term of pure action, Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2 are GOAT.
Considering Itagaki hasn't been able to pull off a decent game since he parted Tecmo and that Team Ninja eventually found their footing after the blunder of "Ninja Gaiden 3"... I'm not so sure about that....

Itagaki was absolutely responsible for the success of reviving the Ninja Gaiden franchise, Devils Third is his only release since Ninja Gaiden 2 and really its biggest mistake was being exclusive to a console that failed to be pervasive in the mainstream market and catering to the quirks of that console. Many people still love that game for the deep and stylish gameplay it brought, even if it was clunky due to playing with a giant gamepad.

The Speed and Momentum of Ninja Gaiden's combat is the best on the genre. It's just so satisfying and rewarding to beat a chapter or a boss battle that has been giving you headache in a battle that you can actually understand what's happening but at the same time it's so chaotic and beautiful

Ninja Gaiden 2 is my jam. That staircase in the underworld is my favorite spot. Ther wer so meny ninja that the game slowed down on. Then on the next Jen it got crazy. Cus everything ran smooth and you're brane had to speed up lol

For me, the games in the Devil May Cry series from the third to the fifth the best in the slasher genre. Peppy action with excellent mechanics, very charismatic characters and driving cutscenes and music. Capcom clearly does not need to abandon the series, and release a new part or a remake of the first or third part.
Capcom peaked creatively in the 2000's when they had Mikami and Clover. Dante has played the same for the last 20 years. Sandbag juggling isn't all that epic, the series is like Shadowsl the Hedgehog for adults.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is my jam. That staircase in the underworld is my favorite spot. Ther wer so meny ninja that the game slowed down on. Then on the next Jen it got crazy. Cus everything ran smooth and you're brane had to speed up lol
Nothing ever top NG 2 in terms of pure style and tough challenges as much. Finding opening to finish of one guy in the arena, to then instantly charge up weapon and unleash the carnage.
Doom eternal exists tho
@@MILDMONSTER1234 not even close to the same level of challenge, (especially with how Eternal tries to enforce a combat loop) though the game's arena management is by far the top of the class.
@@TK-ev The holt slayer gate was more challenging then anything black and 2 threw at me outside of maybe purple laser fiends. Especially with forward y with the talons exists for an easy delimb plus ninja gaiden isn’t exactly about player expression either

Ninja garden black & 2 are my fav games of all time
Now imagine NG Black with a PvP mode. The combat system has just enough depth to pull off, they'd just have to remove most of the magic spells.

NGB is the perfect game that needs a remaster with ray tracing, while still keeping the core design at heart.
NGB got Enhanced on series consoles. Ray tracing is all over the place go play it.

For me, the games in the Devil May Cry series from the third to the fifth the best in the slasher genre. Peppy action with excellent mechanics, very charismatic characters and driving cutscenes and music. Capcom clearly does not need to abandon the series, and release a new part or a remake of the first or third part.

Capcom peaked creatively in the 2000's when they had Mikami and Clover. Dante has played the same for the last 20 years. Sandbag juggling isn't all that epic, the series is like Shadowsl the Hedgehog for adults.

Ever since Kamiya and Mikami left and Clover got defunct, they just went after the ones that make more profit. While Platinum Games focus on keeping this niche and unappreciated genre alive.
