I looooove the fact, that you also ask about No Limit, the korean Album. Maybe they didn't have a hand in the making of the Dreaming, but you can see how talented they are listening to their korean albums where they do participate. Also, The Dreaming sounds like them, All About Love sounds like them, cause they put so much of them in everything they do, and that's why we loved them so much.
I love how they ask the host questions back and you can see all of them are trying their best. Especially since all 5 members are now established hosts in korea and they have so much insight to give, I wonder if they actually put on a serious interpreter not just Changkyun, the answers of all members may be as deep as the questions being asked. I'd love to hear about that because no one asks these questions in korean variety shows
They had an interpreter here (you can hear them sometimes translating the questions or just clarifying things), but all the members have improved so much with their English. They can understand most of what is being asked, they just need support sometimes when giving longer answers. I was very impressed by how they seemed to be giving very thoughtful answers where they were trying to be as honest as possible and helping each other out with completing their sentences. Especially liked when Jooheon said "Don't go up, just look forward and go straight" in regards to success and Minhyuk mentioned that its shared (not just personal).
It is funny that in every interview that they have in Korea I.M barely speaks, but in the USA Daniel just can not shut up. I love it!!! But also I want to listen to all of them. Maybe in the future when they get even better in English they will express themselves more! I love u all!!!! Jooheon you are so amazing thank you for Rush Hour!!!! Hyungwon, Kihyun and Minhyuk and I.M thank you for being you!!!!
I really like what Jooheon said. "Don't go up, just look forward, go straight." If you go up you can go down but if you go straight you have no reason to turning back. If you go up you can fall but if you go straight and eventually get lost in the path you can take your time, find your steps again and keep going forward.

and i loved how zach defined success back ! Like even for us people, the hustle culture is real, becoming the top is 'success'. But now theres a changing perspective e.g having a work-life balance, being truly happy is success
Monsta X is in a league of their own. They don't feel success , yet success is Monsta X. Love them . Fighting
It makes me feel some type of way that they dont think they are successful, I wish they could see from our perspective just how much they have accomplished since their debut, how talented they are and most importantly I will like them to know that things like billboard or grammys are not the only things that makes someone successful, but making things that are meaningful to the people who listens to it IS being a successful artist, many singers have #1 songs that are empty and popular for a moment and then forgotten, I think that to all monbebes everything Monsta does is something that we are going to treasure for many more years and even after they retire because they do it from their hearts and always thinking about us, to me that is so much more special and what being an artist truly means. Love u guys, I hope you never change your humble, kind and beautiful hearts.

Kihyun seems quite tired here and even dropped his mic on his lap for a moment. The way he's speaking also doesn't really seem like his usual self. Maybe it's jet-lag or their sleeping schedules got messed up, but I hope he's doing better and can get some rest. We all know he'll keep working even if everyone around him tells him to rest or recover. Of course, the same applies for the other members. Go get some rest when you can, boys!

Zach is my favorite interviewer for Korean artist to go to when in America, he always is able to pull the conversation forward with the answers from artists even if they struggle some with communication. He respects them as artists and not like other interview who revolve everything around a gimmicky kpop group perspective.
Monsta X is already so successful to us we are so proud of their hard work and amazing music

Awesome interview as expected! It's sad to think that MONSTA X don't feel successful . Like grammys and amas would make them feel that. And if they don't reach that dream which is rare for Kpop will they not be fulfilled? I think just from having a loyal growing fanbase that love and support their music and hard work is Success itself
I think some of this was a bit lost in translation. What I took from it is that they don't feel successful necessarily cause they don't really feel they know what success is or means. They're just focused on doing a good job for their fans, families, and company. If perhaps they did things like the AMAs or topped billboard they suggest "maybe" they'd feel successful then but even then it seems more like they don't really know what'll do it, just that those may be things that make them feeel that way. Yet I still took that they feel good about what they've done/are doing since their families are proud and they're still going strong. Just make takeaway anyway.
i think you misunderstood what the context are...its not that they will feel successful when they won awards but its just like what minhyuk said..they dont really know what success means and how it was defined..but people around them said that they were already succesful so it is enough for them

No. You got it wrong. They don’t feel successful not because they don’t win awards or didn’t get to attend huge events. It’s because their numbers are not doing so well compared to other kpop groups with the similar seniority. You see, they don’t chart high, their albums and merch don’t sell well, even their current arena tours aren’t selling out tickets. Whereas Ateez who is a younger group already has multiple soldout arenas.

I loved everything about this interview. I love that everyone spoke, everyone attempted English, Zach seamlessly responded and invited Korean responses. I love the raw glimpse into who Monsta X is and each individuals character. I love that Dan did his research...Monsta X captivated me and stole my heart a little over a year ago...this interview just reminds why I love their music and them. They try their hardest not to act like idiots but they're human and always striving to be better for Monbebe.
The first performance back with fans in person was right after this bc these were the suits that they wore for Jingleball Philly 🥰🥰🥰 ahhhhh
I can't believe they have 2 English albums, their first album was extraordinary, I love it and this second album is even better. I played their first English album regularly for a couple of months and now whenever I listen to their second English album I can't help but gravitate towards the first English album as well. Also side note, I really loved this interview, Monsta X English has improved a lot and their confidence in speaking it has grown as well but as a bilingual speaker myself I know there's times when we forget a word but the interviewers were so patient in letting each member finish their thoughts and I'm sure they all appreciated that since they all seemed comfortable.
Also talking about kdramas, Mr. Sunshine is a great kdrama it even had my mom on the edge of her seat, it's on Netflix just in case anyone wants to watch it. I also recommend Reply 1988, it's one of my favorites.

The only long interviews I watch because they don’t feel long at all, this was another great one thanks team for inviting Monsta X again to your show.

This was actually a really good interview. The guys looked relaxed and comfortable despite the language barrier for Min or Hyungwonie, and I really really appreciate that the MCs made them feel that way. 💜
MX is so good at interviews. Their answers are thoughtful, and the members don't use frivolous English to draw attention to themselves. They're content to let Changkyun answer, but the others will talk if they feel like they can respond. I've been a Monbebe since the beginning and am so happy how far they've come.
zach's interviewing is incredible and it reveals so much about monsta x that i feel like korean interviewing doesn't touch upon.
i'm really happy to see monsta x releasing these amazing albums -- like literally no other kpop group releases english songs like them. their producers and songwriters are amazing and the members' execution is incredible.
as a monbebe i do get worried about their relative levels of success compared to other kpop groups, as well as how the kpop industry can really give up on artists who aren't complete cash cows, but i'm really eager and hoping that monsta x has many more years, albums, and stages in them!!!

I mean it wasn't even not caring about SSE, in the sense that it wasn't thrown in out of context to snub them. The context was their last appearance which was when they were 7 members, so it was relevent. You could tell their response was "we can't talk about it" and Zack quickly moved on to focus on Shownu's military service and absence so it wasn't awkward.

monsta x always makes masterpieces they may not think they're successful but they've touched my heart and many with their music, and in my eyes that's what's made them successful. they've always shown their true colours and didn't change their music for the general public to like them, i'll continue to love and support monsta x for as long as they stay true to who they are. they're definitely one of the most genuine kpop artists out there and no one can challenge that.

As an American fan I am so touched that they wanted to make a whole album in English. As said English is the international language it pleases their fans across the world to hear their music in English, although I personally believe music is a language of its own that we all understand even if we can't understand the lyrics, our hearts understand.

I like how open Monsta X was in the interview. I also liked those interesting questions Zach had asked them.
I usually don’t leave comments 😳 But I feel like the way they discuss success is rly interesting in this interview, as well as what the songs mean.
I think that The Dreaming is such a beautiful and relevant song to this stage in their career - a place of success and experience but not what they themselves deem as ultimately successful. Even though they didn’t write it, the way they sing The Dreaming is full of so much feeling.
At least to me, the song expresses the difference between hoping for success (a dream) versus attaining what you dreamt of becoming. It’s almost asking: If our motivations are for the end point and not for the journey/experience of that life, then what is the point of brief success?
“If finding the gold is losing the rainbow, the colors are there, they’re not the same though”. “Is it the knowing, is it the seeing, or is it the dreaming”. It’s the magic of being hopeful and excited about your life and your future- as to say that truly living your dream is a journey and not just a moment of touching the sky and feeling empty.
I hope Monsta X can live in their dream and feel that they are already living that journey/success. But at the same time, that they don’t stop “dreaming” and following their passions.

Really pleased with Zach Sang and MX interaction, they kinda being comfortable with each other. Teasing one another and making jokes, thanks Zach for making my boys feeling comfortable to share their story.
It's really wonderful they try to do their best speaking english. Learning a new language can be difiicult but I think one of the most important things about learning an idiom is practicing and they did it so well. Remember that, in Korea, the language is so different: while in occident, many countries based their lannguages in the latin, in oriental side, specifically in Korea, they have another type of alphabet and different way of phonemas, pronunciation and writing so I really admire when the people try to speak in another language. They're not just try to speak but also they feel confident. Congrats guys, you really have improved your english speaking skills.
