good to see glasgow getting back on track, i grew up in glasgow in the 90's the housing was disgracefull and the city was dodgy as good to see another bad area like sighthill be brought into the 21st centuary.
I looked at the plans and they look quite promising but there seems to be very few homes for social rent and more emphasis put on private homes for sale. The sighthill flats prior to being demolished were largely inhabited by asylum seekers who have now been moved into brand new homes, something the average born Glaswegian in the rented social sector has been waiting decades for. I just wonder how many of the new social rented homes will actually go to Glaswegians?
Glaswegian homes for Glaswegian people should be the priority FIRST they’ve endured decades of run down areas long before asylum seekers and immigrants fleeing from war torn countries but why should that put the local people on the back foot ??.
A grand plan which unfortunately cut off thousands of trees - suffocating Royston which remains poor and neglected despite the heroic attempts of the housing association there -
alot moved closer to the celtic park side, a good few moved out the country like me and my mother which was a bit devasting... bit sad to see only 650 homes can be bit knowing there was 1000s and 1000s before
GlitterBuzz rotten eggs? lol. when you forgot to turn the air-conditioning off in the car you would litterally taste it. Won't be the same going along that road without that smell lol
GlitterBuzz haha, yeah but best to pass mcghees after the stinky bit, didn't much like one of my favourite smells followed by one of the worst possible within minutes lol
Multiple back handlers and brown envelopes on this one. Abandoned new flats by Keepmoat over health and safety fears over fire stopping. Assume the SNP has sold the land to the builder.
it's amazing how close this is to the city center should of been done ages ago
Will it remain a working-class area or will it be gentrified (social cleansing)?
0:04 basement studio flats start at 200,000
