Adam you did well to score a free haircut in Saigon. Cheapest I've paid is around 70K dong over the years. Some how I knew they had to be students. Seeing they were set up under an overpass was a bit of a give away. That woman near bui Vien who sold you the food was great with the advice on thank yous. Use some basic Vietnamese with the locals. They will appreciate it. Btw 15K for an iced coffee is the right price. You are a happy western guy who smiles. Vietnamese will respond to that. I love Saigon. Wish I could live there. Vietnam is my go to OS destination. Hope you have a great bike trek.

Just happened to know your channel and I love the way you explore the city. I hope to bump into you one day to show you around. "Banh cuốn" is my favorite for breakfast, and "bánh mì" too. I always have them together with a cup of iced coffee every morning. Cheap and good and healthy too.

you can get a decent to good Banh Mi with 25 - 30k vnd
free haircut: they're new barber and they're practicing. A common scene you can spot in Saigon

Steamed rice means Saigon's broken rice with pork steak + a sunnysideup egg + egg casserole + pig rinds. Eat where the locals eat and you will enjoy the gastronomic value. For Pho eat in Pho 24H because it's clean and good quality. In free time you should discover other district: 1,2,3,4,5 (5+6+10+11+8+Binh Tan + Tan Binh is the world biggest China Town in area). Do some collab with other saigon youtubers like girlsontheloose on youtube. They even live in the famous youtubers building in Saigon. To not be sad about your gf, go to UNESCO's Bui Vien street of culture.

Go to Binh Thanh district which is 5 mins away. Food is cheap. 20k for good Banh mi and 10k for coffee.

I recommended you to get coffee from any shop on your ways which's have signboard "cafe pha máy". This is true coffee because people make coffee cup from coffee beans, and important you can see how they made it!

$12.50 for a room with a double bed you can't beat that, has a window. I was in HCM in 2016 at the hotel $15/night without a window. That's really cheap price man.

About Vietnamese cuisine, you should refer to the youtube channel (max mcfarlin), he is very knowledgeable about Vietnamese cuisine so he will be more helpful to you.
You should use google translate more when other people don't know english, at the barbershop - google translate will help to communicate more fluently.

15K VND for the coffee is a fair price , but 55 K for the Banh Mi is a bit high . It should be only 35-40K . But it`s still very cheap compared to the price in the States

The rule to win this fear is keep routin slowly walking when you across the streams of motobike! motor-bykers knows how to avoid you themself in chaos-order! remmember do not runs and stop suddently , accident immidiatly ! Don’t be affraid of and do it if you want to be safety in the crazy- traffic in Vietnam.

don't eat at D1 a lot of scams here, not really a scam but the price fucking high.
40k for a bánh mì on the street actually scam for sure 15k for that :).
Come to Bình Thạnh you can find some good stuff at a cheap price and Bình Thanh was neat by D3 and D2 D1 really good for the budget.

Ng Việt rất khó bị đồng hoá về ngôn ngữ dù đã bị rất nhiều nước đô hộ Anh,Pháp,Nhật..và dài nhất là Trung Quốc nhưng chúng tôi vẫn được giữ tiếng nói của riêng mình và cũng vì vậy chỉ có những người có mục đích làm việc,hợp tác với người nước ngoài mới nghĩ đến việc học ngôn ngữ thứ 2,3.. ( ng Việt học ngôn ngữ khác cũng rất nhanh ) còn đâu hầu hết người dân chỉ làm những công việc giao tiếp với người trong nước nên họ ko có nhu cầu học và cũng không cảm thấy cần phải học . Trong clip bạn cũng thấy người bán Cơm Tấm vì tiếp xúc thuờng xuyên với người nước ngoài nên cô ấy có thể nói những cơ bản để bạn có thể hiểu .
Các chàng trai trong đội cắt tóc là những người thợ trong 1 salon Tóc và họ đã quyết định dành ra 1 số ngày tròn tháng để cắt tóc miễn phí cho các bạn sinh viên bởi họ biết các bạn sinh viên thường không có tiền nhiều nên việc này sẽ giúp các bạn sinh viên tiết kiệm được 1 khoản nhỏ .
