I don't know why your comment made me cry. I used to have a dream to be a singer, and to travel the world. I didn't plan very well, and now I'm 36 and the mother of 4 kids. I had to put my dreams aside at 21 when my 1st child was born, now my job as a mother is to help my children realize their dreams. Sometimes it really hurts to have come so far and never accomplished those dreams I had for myself. One of my dreams was to become a mother one day, so I guess I accomplished something. Growing up it seemed to me that MLK's legacy has been taken for granite. The general consensus is dominated by identity politics which is the antithesis of his message. It's great to see his family but sadly, even they don't seem to make that connection. I think that Obama would not have had his endorsement. They ran parallel ideologically. "enough is enough" is fuel to the fire of the divide within our country.

For the people saying MLK was a conservative, explain this quote:

Now, things have changed, and there were some things he agreed with the then-Republicans about. One thing he frequently condemned was the rightward shift of the GOP. He became more and more critical of it later in life. But none of his ideologies even nearly fit with the Republican Party today.

GarudaLegends we need someone well grounded and not full of hate. There's nothing wrong with a woman running for president either. I could care less what the person looks like or what religion they believe in. As long as they care about helping one another and building a strong future for our young ones to be proud of and aren't full of hate I'll support them.
