      Thanks Nick! I still don't know exactly what I'm doing in YNAB, but I appreciate the walk through again.
      Right now I'm not even thinking about budgets, as I don't know how to do that with spending money on my credit cards. So I'm first focused on paying down debt, and using YNAB helps me figure out how much to put towards each loan or CC with each incoming pay check.

    • @mappedoutmoney
      @mappedoutmoney  4 роки тому +2

      @@PaulSolt Love it. That's where you gotta start my man. No reason to budget crazy or work yourself to death at first. Just focus on putting one foot in front of the other and kill that CC debt and use YNAB to help you know how much. That's a great place to start and keep working towards.

    It's funny because you described me at the beginning of the video. I'm in the trial period and I just can't wrap my head around this system. This was very helpful though. Why can't YNAB's videos be this helpful? I don't need someone talking AT me. I need them to SHOW me.

    I'm about three weeks into YNAB. Your tutorials is what made me take the plunge. They were a great help in setting up YNAB. I'm loving it! BTW: I did use your affiliate link.

    Hi Nick!
    I rarely comment on videos, but I want to reach out and say thank you.
    I started using YNAB almost 2 months ago. I followed all your tutorials, and they really helped me out with navigating this program. I have paid off 1 out of 3 credit cards and on track to half the second one paid off in 2 months! I have never felt so in control of my finances and beyond excited to be out of debt and building healthy, steady money habits with this program. Thank you again, Nick, for all the videos that have helped me.

    I got in when YNAB was offering the four month free trial and I'm glad it did because it took me 4 mos to get it down. I can't tell yo how many times I had to start from scratch. Now that it's clicked I can't function without it! Your videos were a huge reason why thank you for what you do!

    I knew for the past couple of years that I needed to update my archaic paper/pencil system. It suited me at one time, but our life is just too cumbersome and busy now for the hours it takes to do it all by hand. I have loved, loved, loved YNAB! And automating payments has been liberating. But I wouldn't be where I am without your help (2 months in). Thanks so much for your videos. I feel we are actually living on our budget now because we keep it up to date in real time. It's been a real game changer for us!

    I was needing this video without knowing I needed it. Super glad you made that analogy of the envelope system with the goal/budgeted/activity column. Very helpful.
    Also, major props for that Snape clip haha. It's a personal favorite moment 😂

    I got so excited to tell you how much I love your lamp and then my next thought was, "You idiot, you're about to say, 'I love lamp,' like Steve Carrel in Anchor Man, but not as a joke. :::mental shrug:::"
    I love your lamp! LOL
    Thanks for you help, too!

    How come when I move money to other categories, on the next month, my assign column show negatives. So many videos explaining ynab, i never seen anyone of you having negative assigned column. My problem is, when a new month, i need to top up the negative amount and plus the new budget i need to assign for the month. I need more money then. So confusing.

    Hey Nick, 1 month in and smooth sailing (love it) until I got some Christmas Gift Cards (specifically, Target and Uber). They make me feel stuck, which is why I came to this video. Do you cover how to handle them in YNAB in any videos? I have watched most of them and don't remember this topic? Thanks!

    Hey Nick! Thank you so much for these YNAB videos. I would have quit using YNAB a long time ago if it wasn't for your helpful videos on how to use YNAB. I have a question for you and hope you can answer it here. Due to some urgent circumstances, I haven't used YNAB (i.e. input and tracked all my expenses) for the last two and a half months. Is there a manual way to reconcile (or start over) without going back and updating all of the previous transactions? Also, I know you mentioned your preference for using "unlinked" accounts for the sake of keeping a close eye on ur budget. But is there any other reason that I should consider? Thanks in advance!
