Seriously though! This 100% should have replaced “These are the Ways” which is a decent song, but it’s a horrible track that they chose to perform live like they did on Jimmy Kimmel, Fallon, and the Howard Stern radio show. Those vocals are just hard for Anthony to nail playing live. This one would have been perfect for him and the energy it brings is better than “These are the Ways” in my opinion. Oh well, I’m just happy they created this ❤️
Rock, Blues, Rap, Hip-Hop, R&B, Punk, Grunge, Hard-rock, Funk. RHCP is the only band that can play every style of music in a single song and it sounds so fucking awesome. They are fucking crossover genius.
An incredibly underrated song. I feel that this is one of RHCP’s best songs. Just feels like John pouring his soul out through his guitar. Definitely his most Hendrix inspired song. Anthony’s vocals are awesome on this too.
People outside of RHCP fans have zero clue how good a guitar player John is. You can definitely hear that Hendrixx background on this album. Strait killing it man 🤘
We get how good he is. However, it gets POWERFULLY cringe at how nut hugger it gets with him. There will be a solo where John just plucks one note and the next day there will be a reddit post about how only God could make a plucked note sound that good. Then some other nerd would say, "that's because he is God." Seriously it's gotten weird.
I think John better than Hendrix if you could possibly choose, Jimi was innovative but John just is the greatest guitarist we'll ever see in my opinion
This is a killer album, way better than Unlimited Love (and I like it). In 2022 an album like this? Who makes a record like this today? And this time we can listen to a bluesy song, too! There is everything on this record... some One Hot Minute vibes, some old school vibes, some blues, some 80's vibes, some distortions, some melodies, some everything. I love it!
Always knew he had it in him. Not just a 'good' Red Hots tune, but an AMAZING song overall! Whole damn album is killer, but THIS song? It breaks AND makes all the rules at once.
Knowing how low Frusciante was on drugs in the 90s and listening to this guitar trip now 30 years later is all all the motivation one should need to keep plugging away.

Wow, they should release that as a single, so good! Its quite an unusual track, sounds a bit 60s/70s. This album is very strong, feels effortless, experimental but not too much, nicely balanced.
Might be the best 2 albums they've ever put out, the best best rock and roll music I've personally ever heard. The guitar work is of legendary proportions, and I will argue that with anyone. I'm talking Hendrix, page, Clapton, frusciante is right there

I read a comment that caught my attention and intrigued me a little: "If Hendrix was on vacation in California with the Beatles, they would have composed this song." I love music with all my heart, I love RHCP, The Beatles, Hendrix, hundreds of artists from the 40's to the present, and that comment makes some sense, and when listening to it, I felt the essence of The Beatles and the hendrix style The melody is something you'd expect the Beatles to do, and Hendrix's solo, but at the same time you feel the RHCP style, it's a subliminal mix, Anthony's lyrics, Oh my God, I'm 20 years old, and really RHCP, no. They have aged, on the contrary, they have reached a point of rejuvenation and that relieves me a lot, because there is little quality music left.
Seriously though. I know its early and there isn't a music video to go with it (I hope they make one) but this should have the highest view count. Best song off the album. I had a hard time figuring out my favorite on Unlimited Love. This was instantly it on this album. I fucking love it. The message, the sound. The vibe. If it was a 6+ minute song it would be a hallmark ballad for this band.

This album's so fuckin rich You know... every single track has a manner of itself... anyone can choose one as them favourite... Look ... this is what the greatest rock band in the world looks like... #RHCPforever
Very few songs are able to invoke such specific feeling in me, but when I listen to this track, I imagine walking home in the snow carrying the lifeless body of someone I loved dearly while memories flood through my head. It invokes every feeling of hopelessness and happiness in me at the same time, in a distant future reminiscing upon a past that hasn't even happened yet. I was listening to the album last night and most of the album was admittedly meh and there were some pretty good tracks but Carry Me Home was the first song in a very, very long time that instantly made me cry. There's something incredibly poetic about it that I can't describe with words, as if the song itself is weeping and I am unable to comfort it in its moment of helplessness before being snuffed out. The only band I know that can create such vivid feelings in 3 to 4 minutes of song is the Red Hot Chili Peppers, thank god they're still around after 40 some-odd years. Love you guys.
RHCP play the Blues! I’m blown away- I’ve never heard them this soulful…and they’ve been at it since the mid 80’s! These guys are amazing, and getting better-
This is the best song on the album I've heard so far. No need to look to see if anyone says the same thing about another song from this album. Nobody is gonna say that. This opinion is universal!
this should have been a single.
So good it's ridiculous

The “please, give me your… “ bit at 01:07 is like the ghost of John Lennon coming through the speakers. Chills
If Hendrix was on vacation in California with the Beatles, they'd probably write this tune. One of the best songs on the record

Starts like Jimi, ending like Black Sabbath!!! I love this song
I’m not hearing any Sabbath here. I actually think the end is even more Jimi than the beginning
JohnHondo - The bassline at the end was clearly influenced by Black Sabbath’s “Hand of Doom.”
The Hendrix is also strong in this one. Love that break with Flea and AK. Then Fru and Chad just come crashing in. Epic 🔥🔥🔥🔥
For posterity, sir.

Love it rock on
theis break is only without chad but yeah this is + ears
Do you people appreciate the era we're in... ??? This is foundational...
John is channelling Jimi again. Love it.
He was born the same year Hendrix died.
There might be some channeling indeed.
you can tell that anthony put his heart and soul in to this, love it
People outside of RHCP fans have zero clue how good a guitar player John is. You can definitely hear that Hendrixx background on this album. Strait killing it man 🤘
Frus is the last of the great Hendrix disciples

This song would top charts in 1968. That's how freaking perfect it is.
1:27 I first listened to this on the subway and my jaw dopped when I heard that guitar solo. Hendrix vibes are strong on this one.

This song is perfect in its simplicity. The guitar is very emotional, bluesy and moving. And AK is great both with vocals and lyrics.
Muffin Man by Frank Zappa.

This is definitely Frusciante's homage to Hendrix. Such a beautiful song :')
Yes. I think the same
Yep the heavy section is pure Jimi.
First thing I thought when I heard it. Although I’d argue Flea as well. Sounds just like Noel Redding the way he and Jimi would play together
My first thoughts too! I love it!
Bro pays homage every time he plays a lick
when the haunting vocals and the guitar come together... there's nothing like it
This track has everything I could ever ask for, and as a kicker Anthony’s vocals sound better than ever.
Yep, this is one of those songs that we ALL gonna be playing for the next 15 years
My favorite from this album so far. Strong Hendrix vibes from John
'Return of the Dream Canteen' would make such a good album for a wedding after-party.

This has a Hendrix vibe to it, but they still own the song, which is why I love them. I can't get enough of the new album.
