Hello everyone, and welcome to our karate basics tutorial. Today, we're going to cover some fundamental techniques that every beginner should know. Let's get started!
    part 1: Basic Stances
First, let's learn about basic stances. A strong stance is crucial for maintaining balance and generating power.
    1. Horse Stance (Kiba-dachi):
    • Stand with your feet wide apart, bend your knees, and keep your back straight. Imagine you're sitting on a horse. This stance is great for building leg strength.
    2. Front Stance (Zenkutsu-dachi):
    • Step one foot forward, bend the front knee, and keep the back leg straight. Your weight should be mostly on the front leg. This stance is commonly used for striking.
    3. Back Stance (Kokutsu-dachi):
    • Step one foot back, bend the back knee, and keep the front leg straight. Your weight should be mostly on the back leg. This stance is useful for defensive movements.

    Part 2: Basic Punches
Next, we'll practice basic punches. Proper form is key to effective striking.
    1. Straight Punch (Choku-zuki):
    • From a basic stance, extend your fist straight forward. Rotate your fist so your palm faces down at the end of the punch. This is your standard punch.
    2. Uppercut (Age-zuki):
    • From a basic stance, punch upward with your fist. Keep your elbow close to your body. This punch targets the chin or torso.
    3. Reverse Punch (Gyaku-zuki):
    • From a front stance, punch with the rear hand while rotating your hips and shoulders. This punch has more power due to the hip rotation.

    Part 3: Basic Kicks
Host: Now, let's move on to basic kicks. Kicks require flexibility and balance.
    1. Front Kick (Mae-geri):
    • Lift your knee up, extend your leg forward, and snap your kick out. Keep your toes pulled back to strike with the ball of your foot. This is a straightforward and effective kick.
    2. Roundhouse Kick (Mawashi-geri):
    • Turn your hips, lift your knee, and swing your leg in a circular motion, striking with the top of your foot. This kick is great for targeting the side of your opponent.
    3. Side Kick (Yoko-geri):
    • Lift your knee, pivot on your supporting foot, and thrust your leg out to the side. This kick is powerful and can be used for both offense and defense.

    Part 4: Basic Blocks
Host: Finally, let's cover basic blocks. Blocks are essential for defense and can be used to redirect an opponent's attack.
    1. Upper Block (Age-uke):
    • Raise your arm to block an incoming attack aimed at your head. This block protects your upper body.
    2. Middle Block (Chudan-uke):
    • Bring your arm across your body to block an attack aimed at your torso. This block defends against mid-level attacks.
    3. Lower Block (Gedan-barai):
    • Sweep your arm down to block an attack aimed at your legs. This block is effective against low strikes and kicks.
