Yes. But the final exam is in person. If your visa status is good you can start before moving in to US which will save time.

Yes. Find a location near you and take an appointment. Usually identogo will send the report to the ISD. But check with them for the process.

Yes, Teacher certification is a must to work as a classroom teacher. You don’t need certification for substitute and paraprofessional jobs.

Math is always in demand. Teacher jobs differ from state to state depending on the availability. Can’t predict it.

1 year. But as a I said you can apply for jobs and start working as soon as you get the approval from them.
Hi Priya, you are so good in sharing useful information. Recently we moved to Texas.. I hold a masters degree in Physics and I have registered in TEA for out of country certification. Is this the correct approach? Do I need to do ACP? Kindly help me with this.
You did it right. You can do it all by yourself. Once you get approval from TEA you can take the exams. You don’t need to go through a center to get the certification.

You can do the certification. But you need EAD or work visa to get a teaching job.

Grade level is your preference. Which grade level you feel comfortable in teaching with? Choose that one.

Hi Priya ..I am also in Texas and working as paraprofessional. As in India we have 3 years degree program. I have bachelor's in Science. One of the evaluation company gave me around 100 credit. Im 20 credit away for my bachelor's in USA . Am I still eligible for Alternative teaching certificate?.

Did you approach any ACP places?
Did they give you any suggestions?
First check with them they will help/give suggestions to get the credits. Take some courses in Community colleges which will give credits.

I have a 3 yrs bachelor's degree (BCOM) from India and needed 30 credits, I took classes from Austin community College and went to Texas Teacher certification, but sadly they didn't accept my credits as they were from a community College and adviced me to go to a university to get 30 credits, which I never did.@priyagopi123

I am not sure about who asked for it? If the ISD has asked for biometrics and you used their service, they (the biometrics company) will send it directly to ISD.

Currently, I am in INDIA and I am planning to go to NC in the coming year. I am a chemistry postgraduate with B.ed. It's been 7 years since I have been working in the education field.
You have a very good educational background and experience. Whichever city you are moving into NC find the school district and browse their website for teaching certification requirements. It varies from state to state. My best advice is start as a substitute first. You don’t need certification for that. Explore schools and see which grade level you are comfortable teaching and plan to get certification accordingly. Hope this helps. All the best!

How many hours does it take to prepare for the exam
It depends. If you are good and strong in your content you don’t need many days.
All over, We have be good at english accent, please tell on iteach programm in louisiana.
English fluency is sufficient. Iteach is good.
So if you pass ATC exam you are eligible to apply for jobs
First your eligibility to join the program next content test and ppr test to get the teacher certification. Once you pass both you will get the certification.

Check the ISD and school websites for job openings. Email the principals and attach your resume. You can email all the schools that you want to work. And you must register your certification with TEA.

Yo must have a valid work visa to get a teacher job. That is the first requirement.
To get the Teacher certification you must write the exams. You don’t need teacher certification to work as Substitute teacher. Watch my other videos. It has all the required information.
