    Not bad from someone who's never faced a top-level BK before! You could see Lima learning the match-up as the game went on, he adapted very well to learn how to play around Wonderwing on the fly.

      But even then, trela was learning his Bayonetta slowly if this was best 4 out of 7 he woulda won

      That's how it is with Bayo and with my main Terry. I win the first few matches, but if the matchup is unfavorable for me I'll eventually just lose most matches.
      The crazy thing is that Bayo has tons of options, mix ups and combos, but her lightweight and lack of ko options is such a huge hindrance players are forced to do risky edge guards that aren't even guaranteed.

      Because Sakurai doesn't know how to balance the roster, that's why. He never has.

    • @ekene4886
      @ekene4886 4 роки тому +26

      @@JulesThePsion the roster is pretty balanced. Don't forget he has to balance 70+ characters with more to come (as dlc's). No character is inherently breaking the game to such a amount that's its basically a free double W. I really think sakurai did a good job

    • @JulesThePsion
      @JulesThePsion 4 роки тому +8

      @@ekene4886 He's trying to cater to a casual scene with what is essentially a "party game". Just a party game that you can choose to play competitively by turning off the default items and stage hazards. Let's face it, this is actually not the way Sakurai intended the game to be played. If you have to go out of your way to make a game competitive by removing its base content, what does that say? Look at any other serious fighting game: Street Fighter, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat. They have final rosters of 30, maybe 40. Static stages. No items. Maybe you can jump, but you can't leap around the stage like it's a trampoline. Just serious matches geared toward the fighting itself. You praise the game and the developers for having a roster of, what 80 characters? Have you ever thought that maybe it's the very thing you praise which makes Smash inherently unbalanced? Perhaps, if he weren't so focused on giving us so many characters, so many items and so many zany stages to choose from, he'd be able to focus on balancing the actual fighting aspect of his game. But that was never his vision. Smash was always meant to be different. It's unique, and it breaks conventional molds. It's not really meant to be a strictly serious, pure fighting experience. Just look at the system it's exclusive to. It's fun, cartoon violence-- the Mario Party of fighting games. Now, sure you can choose to play it "competitively" if you want to, and I'll readily admit that the game's mechanics are complex and take real work to master. Smash is hard, and its competitive players are very skilled, but don't you DARE try to tell me it's balanced. It's absolutely not. At all. The game itself is too instrinsically chaotic and geared toward 4v4 spectator matches with items and flashy special moves. Just because we don't have a character who's blatantly broken á la Smash 4's Bayonetta, does NOT mean that this game is balanced by any stretch of the imagination. Fun, unique, creative? Yes. Balanced? No. Stop being a Nintendrone and realize this.

    • @ekene4886
      @ekene4886 4 роки тому +15

      @@JulesThePsion I agree with things you said on this comment but how exactly is it unbalanced? I shouldn't "DARE" try to say it's balanced even though I think it is. Again those are 70+ characters and no one manages to be "broken". He should balance the fighting aspect of smash but what do you mean by that?

    • @JulesThePsion
      @JulesThePsion 4 роки тому +4

      @@ekene4886 For the second time now, you've stated that "none of the 70+ characters are broken" as if that is somehow the same thing as those 70+ characters being balanced. Sure, it's lovely that the developers at the very least manage to ensure that no single character is strictly "broken", but all that means is just that: no one is broken this time around. That alone isn't equal to everyone being balanced. They're two different things. God. Okay, who do you main, if I might ask? How skilled are you? You must be nothing short of a Smash Virtuoso, since you seemed to enjoy telling me earlier that I should "git gud" :) Rather than having me sit here and try to explain it to you, why don't you try taking a Jigglypuff, Zelda, Robin, Kirby, Bowser (and not spam side B) or D.K. online and see how many Foxes, Wolfs, Roys, Marths, Terrys or Jokers you can consistently win against. It's easy to feel you're skilled and that the roster is balanced when you're using a "high tier". Watch how quickly all your skill and practice go to waste the moment your opponent is using a high tier and you're using a lower-mid tier or a character with poor frame data. You can easily begin losing to less skilled players than yourself (ahem, refer to this video), and if you DO still manage to win, it's much more difficult than it rightfully should be. All fighting games (and indeed all video games) are plagued with these balancing issues, but Smash in particular seems to suffer from them to a much greater degree. By the "fighting aspect" I mean take away the ability to jump 20 feet in the air, remove the gimmicky special moves and take away the ability to recover back to stage from all the way down in the bottom blast zone. Every character fights with only their standard moveset and matches are fought more or less in the neutral, with both players mostly remaining grounded for the fight. Soon, you'd see that there'd be about 15 fighters who could easily wipe the floor with the remaining 65 members of the roster (which historically, has mostly been true of Smash anyway). I mean, at that point, the game wouldn't even be Smash Bros. anymore, and in a way, that's my point. The craziness and unbalanced chaos of Smash makes it original and distinguishes it from its fellow fighting games. I'm not saying Smash is bad; it's a good game. The sales demonstrate that. I AM saying, however, that it's unbalanced. Of course, you're entitled to your own opinion, even if you are wrong. :)

      @@joseroldancolon2846 I never played Smash 4, so I don't have the same hate for Bayo mains that a lot of Smash veterans have. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, and I mean, obviously both players are skilled, but I'm actually happy the Banjo player lost. It was clear that the Bayo player really, really had to work for his kills and play intelligently, whereas the Banjo player didn't have to work as hard or play as smart for his kills. Considering how devastating it is to lighter fighters, Wonder Wing starts up too fast and could use a couple more frames of end lag, and Banjo's frame data is already good enough. He gets away with alot of stuff on shield that he really shouldn't. His forward smash, for example. Good to see hard work and skill winning out in the end, though.
