Awesome content as always, and appreciate you doing the biathlon. And I could not agree more concerning companies that choose to gouge and those who don’t!
Thank you for providing the ammo sources. At the very least I can learn what decent pricing should be and use it to find reputable deals. Really appreciate you sharing this and the videos. Thanks again.
You're doing a great service for the .22lr community and I very much appreciate it! Where I live, the PNW, I have to get it wherever I can find it and not worry about it, which does not find me in my "happy place" as often as before this c19 B.S. I don't shoot much target ammo, mostly hunting grade ammo, but I would shoot more target if it were readily available. My big plan when I bought my CZ MTR was to set it up for shooting ground squirrels and other pests and long distance field shooting for fun and to keep in reasonable shooting form. Being educated by your tests and knowing what ammo is likely to shoot well in my MTR is a great advantage and will save me money when I'm shopping around for target ammo, THANKS!
Thanks for your reviews. Many folks review ammo and don't really see much of a difference in ammo. We know there's a difference. I know this guy can shoot.
Shooting SK pistol match special Green Box and their Semi auto Black Box, gave me similar results in my CZ457 MTR as this test. Maybe the 100 yard tests will show more difference.
The testing you do on your channel is great info. Your running a mostly stock cz. So it’s nice to see what may work in my cz. Please continue thetesting. Like in the us canada is having trouble with match availability too. Keep it coming.
@3:00 I understand there are bad-apples (cheaperthandirt for instance) but most are just following normal supply and demand practices. A normal seller in a normal market does not just sell the product at purchase price + markup. The seller has to replenish the stock at the current wholesale price if it's higher he charges more for current stock with an eye on the cost of getting more stock. In the ammo world the average retailer does not sit on inventory. It's always moving in and out so he has to charge a price that allows him to bring in the next batch. The same is true of commodities like gas. The gas does not sit on the location long. It has to be purchased from the wholesale market every week or day depending on demand.
Having worked with both of the major ammo suppliers for match ammo you can be assured they are not increasing pricing to the retailers. They are increasing prices due to limited quantities. There are several select retailers still selling ammo at reasonable prices.
I've bought ammo from many places but I love Good Shooting and Champion's Choice. They will get my money before those gougers. Haven't tried that biathlon but I'm going to the Lapua test center in a couple months so I'm holding off.
Hey Josh - this is a great series. Thanks for shooting it, and your comments about ammo was spot on. We are really feeling it here in Canada. $C22 for Lapua Midas Plus! I shoot a CZ 457 LRP I am testing for shooting benchrest. I have done a similar ammo test. Right now I am testing a tuner on the barrel which is a bit of a challenge. Keep up the great productions!
Love your videos man! Keep them coming! Love seeing your daughter into the shooting as well. Great job dad! I have a ruger precision 22 lr that shoots cci subsonic really well. Thinking about getting into 22 lr shooting challenges. Cheers from Montana!
Nice grouping from that sk . The sk line does very well in the cz line of rifles for sure . Another great video brother . And I write down every price gouger I see and will never buy from them again. Keep the vids coming bro there great
Great series, tahnks for taking the time to do this. Can you do one on Aguila Super Extra 40 grain? For me, I use that and the Tac 22. Curious to see how it stacks up. Thanks
SK ammo used to be third rate ammo before it fused with Lapua. I remember trying it out many moons ago, and found that the bullet was actually loose in the cartridge case.
Shot RWS TARGET RIFLE today from my CZ 457 MTR. Sorted by weight. It made a slight difference. Might try sorting by rim thickness for fun as well next time! Makes a difference with the cheaper ammo, probably not so much at the top end as that is all the manufacture does in keeping higher tolerance and charges more! Consistency that’s all it is. I know you did a video on sorting…..off topic a little! Please do a RWS TARGET RIFLE video to add to your top 11. Thanks!
Really enjoying the content, would love to see some of the top contenders shot suppressed? I have been shooting SK for years in my target pistols and now in my Vudoo, have had great results with the ammo. Also would love to see some channel swag (decals, patches etc…).
That’s $318 for 1000 rounds (Tenex) $246 (Eley match/Centre X) now try buying just a couple of boxes to see what your rifle really likes😂😂 Oh! And we can’t get stuff posted to us and no Cabelas or Walmart, you guys across the pond have it pretty easy!!! Kind regards to all👍
You guys are lucky. We only have 2 brands of ammo to choose from at most retailers. And alot only sell the local brand. They only sell match specialty ammo in a few stores and they are in very short Supply and are only in the major cities. Not to mention they are double to triple to their suggested retail price.😩
Thanks Josh. I'm definitely going to check out your supplier recommendations. Looks like some great ammo to try. Enjoy this format, always nice to hear your comments. I've always noticed in your vids that the tree in front of the bench looks like it might have been nicked by some projectiles. Is your face cold now ? 😉
The tree gets beat down by the squirrels and the cat that thinks she can hunt the squirrels. Definitely not cold in this heat we have in NC right now but do miss the beard already 🤣🤣
Awesome test Josh, could you talk about how you clean your 457. Kinda want to know what your favorite solvents and patches are, and what are the critical areas to oil. What bore guide do you use to clean your cz457, i'm not having much luck finding one to fit the cz457

Hey Buddy Nice shooting Mate that ammo looks to be very accurate I shoot only SK high velocity match after trying just about every thing else through my CZ455 varmit , 20 inch l would give biathlon a try but it’s not available over here , what are your thoughts on high velocity ammo v subsonic at 50 yards it’s got me confused why my rifle will only shoot the high velocity stuff accurately at 50 which contradicts everything that I have read and been told , it would make an interesting video to see the difference in accuracy between high and subsonic ammo through your rifle I would love to see that and I’m sure a lot of your supporters would also please give it a try . Steve from Australia .
Sk high velocity will be my next ammo test. At 50 hv or subsonic wont make a difference. The hv falls apart further down range as it transitions from super sonic to sub sonic.
Can you compare the MTR factory barrel to the varmint. Is it worth the money to get the MTR. Thanks love the channel! CZ457 Varmint and synthetic are my babies.
@@PursuitofAccuracy Thanks I have been debating on ordering the upgraded MTR barrel for my varmint with the the Turkish walnut but I’m just not sure how much I will gain for the money or if I should dive off the cliff and get a Lija 20 inch.
