Floribunda

Floribunda is a hugely popular four-day painting course offered by Emily Ball at Seawhite. In essence, the course is a celebration of flowers and plants and the abundance of nature.
This film, made by Noah Carter Studio, charts the planning and preparation for the course together with the experience of painting and drawing in a studio transformed into an exotic hot house filled with sculptural forms, dramatic colour and heady scents.
“Flowers and plants are really a gift for painting. So this course is really an opportunity for artists to explore what the paint can give, but also try and capture some of the extraordinary qualities of the plants themselves.”

I loved this so much! I kept thinking - oh man, I'd love to come to that - but I'm pretty sure my bad allergies would only allow me about 5 seconds in that room. Really beautifully done video - I enjoyed it!

It's impossible for me to travel to England to take this course. I'm hoping that someday soon it can be done as an online course, parts of it, at least, though I realize that the strength lies somewhat in the face to face experience.
