Hello doctor, I have been using Regaine 60ml monthly supply for month.(I used Reagine long time ago - on and off) Now I have irritation, dry scalp and dandruff. I'm using anti dandruff shampoo. Can you please differ & which is best for good results.
Option1: Taking Monoxidol lotion separate & Finasteride pill separate.
Option 2: Monoxidol + Finasteride topical solution. I can see in market that topical solution coming combination of Monoxidol along with Finasteride.
Medical shop person said that if am using option 2 then no need to take Finasteride tablet internally.
So my question is "taking Finasteride with Monoxidol is best (or) Separate tablet taking internally is best?

i had seen many videos on youtube of applying onion juice on hair...iam applying onion juice on my scalp since 3 months and i had seen good results on front part of the scalp.....there is not much improvement in crown area...i usually apply onion juice 3 days in a week......can i apply minoxidil for remaining 4 days in a week.....will there be any reverse effects and cause hair loss by applying both......please help me in dealing with this situation

Before experimenting with the minoxidil medication my advice you should consult with any nearby dermatologist for proper guidance, and as if you can apply the onion juice only at the frontal area then you can apply minoxidil to the crown area.
But apply it regularly twice a day(1ml) morning and at the bedtime.

This type of hair loss is absolutely normal, or you can say it is good sign... When you first start using minoxidil, Minoxidil soaks into the scalp and stimulates the hair follicles, providing further nourishment and encouraging regrowth. Once these new hairs start to grow, they push out the old (weak hair follicle), thinning hairs which is why you may start to lose more hair than normal. This shedding stage does not happen to everyone, however when it does, it can last for some time.

I did consult a private clinic which prescribed this for me. Though they never mentioned about kind of side-effect that I started experiencing. In addition i also experienced nose bleeding twice, something I never had before. Upon doing some research I came to know there are other people who complained about erection issues. I have now stopped using it.

first, stop using 10% minoxidil, this is not FDA approved, 2% minoxidil is FDA approved for female. if you keep on using 10% minoxidil you will start getting facial hairs so stop immediately. after you start using minoxidil there is hair loss always but its a good sign, it tells minoxidil is working and many hairs are going into anagen phase from telogen phase.

Sir, a dermatologist suggested minoxidil 2% to my mother when she suffered severe hairloss in patches due to some infection, she used it over year (daily, 2 times, 1ml) and it worked. I am suffering from male pattern baldness, I have been using same since 6+ months but i am not applying daily. I have not been able to see appreciable effect. Is it because of irregular use or it is not suiting me? I suffer from intermittent hairfall. There is no hairfall for 2-3 weeks and then suddenly heavy hairfall for next 2-3 weeks

it may not because of irregular use, but minoxidil 2% is only for female pattern baldness. For male pattern baldness minoxidil 5% is used and it is US FDA approved. Use minoxidil 5% but after consulting it with your dermatologist.

That's, not the only reason for the side effect of this medication, but if you get side effect then you can shift to another base medication which can suit your hair condition. If you have much dandruff or your hair are dry according to the condition the base will react to your hairs.
