Crazy, not every band that started out in the 60s could so seamlessly transition into the 80s. Very underated band.
Their music only appeals for adults like 👍 me. I hate that teeny bop stuff that’s out there 2day.😠😠😠😠😠
Thats cause psychedelic rock made a resurgence in the 80s. Its starting to have a slight comeback in 2024 too.
Indeed!
You dont fully realize the power of this song till you get older. You dont realize how special these times were till you are fully entrenched in middle age.
Amen Brother
'Fully entrenched in middle age..." I like that phrase
Yes, we were fortunate to have come of age in the 80s
Or old age
'sept most did not have those times.
15 years before, they made the greatest song ever recorded, and yet still had enough left to create this masterpiece. Decent video, too.
Which song are you talking about? Story in Your Eyes? Question?
@@macmacreynolds8712He was probably talking about Nights in White Satin, but Question is one of my favorites- it's so applicable to today as well.😮😊
@@mitzibaker9598 Lots of great songs, but if you're saying "greatest song ever recorded" about a Moody Blues song, you can only mean "Nights in White Satin."
OMG !!! I HAVE SEARCHED THIS SONG FOR THREE YEARS, AT THE END I FOUND IT! I LOVE IT.
it took you three years to find a video that been on UA-cam since 2009? Was your computer plugged in?
Moody Blues 2024 💕
See them 2x with an orchestra. UNBELIEVABLE! Especially when on some type of altering drug. Just awesome!!
Maravilha essa banda. The Moody Blues ❤❤❤❤
Been listening and loving them since the days of reel to reel home sound systems.
Saw them twice, and that wasn't enough....lol
The last time I heard this song was in 1987 when I was in 8th or 9th grade. I been searching this song for years and I just now found it in 2015! 28 years later, and never knew who sang this song until it showed on you tube today by The Moody Blues WOW!!!
And now they are on tour in the USA starting early summer 2017
very powerful song. happens to be my dad's on his tomb reads the other side of life
This song/video has many profound truths about life... There is much more going on than we will ever know.
Hello Susan, How are you doing?
It may not be what people want to hear from The Moody Blues but it's still fucking great.
s jones oh I always enjoyed this song. These 80s videos though. This reminds me of APP prime time. Ah memories.
"It may not be what people want to hear from The Moody Blues"
This is EXACTLY what I want to hear from the Moody Blues. I don't know what you're talking about.
I do
I was absolutely obsessed with this song and music video as a kid. I had a Moody Blues DVD, and I couldn't even begin to guess how many times I replayed this video. The atmosphere was, and still is, just amazing.
They say it's the driving beat of the world.
They will rock and move our souls forever, TY!!!
the neatest group from the early days and still me favorite at 64.
+ronald sebastian #1 for me at 67 (and counting). Tull, Parsons, ACDC, some Bangles (hot for them now).. but the Moodies will be etched into cosmic history.
one who has grown with them thru the years only will appreciate their music.Never to be forgotten.
+ronald sebastian Yep. But I miss Pinder., ron
Love your choice of music Tom.
There will never be better.
yes Mike Pinder is amazing too met him an his wife lovely ppl. I'm friends with Ray's wife Lee on Facebook she even helped me with a project I'm doing
Back when videos told a story, and the song was the story.
...And come what may at the break of day we all begin anew...
Tell me, what does this mean?
@@michignamymichigan to me, it means that what's done is done and the past cannot be changed. Every day is a new start for each of us and hopefully, we will make any necessary changes for past mistakes. As a Christian, I know that God's mercies are new every morning which is so freeing. He allows me to fall on His mercy when I know I've failed knowing that holds nothing against me because I trust in Him (Jesus) for my salvation.
@@cathygraybeal6516 Thanks. God bless us all.

Bella melodia
I woke up with this song in my head and not sure why. Amazon music only had it on unlimited so I came here. Damn, sounds better than I remember. 😂
Cool Video Even Cooler Tune These Guys Were like Magic Together!!!😷🤘
The greatest band in the world NOT in the Hall of Fame. That should change now. Please go vote on the HOF website for this incredible band that gave the world so much beautiful music. December 2017 is the deadline
Mic they’re in...BOOM!!👍
Hooray, 'the most deserving band in the world not already in the Hall of Fame' is now going in. Can't wait to see them in April. Thanks for your vote,
At least Ray Thomas got to see it before he died
That's what I was thinking this morning when I heard the news of his passing. The HofF waited much too long to nominate the Moodies, but at least they were all still alive when the news came down of their induction in April. I am more inclined to want to watch the ceremony now - to see how they (the rest of the band) honor Mr. Thomas
We win...
At one time, I could afford to go to one of their concerts, but not anymore. First time was in 1970 for 5 bucks, now it's like 20-30 or more times that.
I will always remember those nights watching THE MOODY BLUES. in concert on the lawn seats at the old WORLD MUSIC CENTER. in Tinley Park IL. they were magic.
Ray knew what was doing
We went cruise ing to this. 3.5.75
Epic song. Epic musicians.
Spot on!!!!!
@@robertastone7155 this song kicks Soo much Ass!!
Really interesting vid, just getting into the Moody Blues 💙
R. I . P Ray
I was 13 when this video came out. At the time I thought it was awesome. Now I wonder how in the world they pitched this concept to the band.
Love the moody blues bring back memories high friends (Rip) Scott Fuentes! We miss you!
Where is Justin Heyward? He has been with the Moody Blues since about 16967-68
CRANK LUCAS SAMPLED THIS, WHAT A GENIUS
Legend has it he's still playing
I just saw Justin Hayward and Mike Dawes at Plaza Live Orlando - October 14 - and it was his birthday. When he came on stage - all of us fans (audience) sang "Happy Birthday" to him. SPECTACULAR show by the way........He and the Moody Blues are the ultimate....
Masters of harmony.
I like it . its good and I like how every thing is done as I am writing this as I speak.
This song makes my head dance!
Одна из лучших песен Муди Блюз.
we all begin anew
The only Moody Blues song that my strict father allowed to be played in the house. He used to blast it on the stereo, relax on the couch, and smoke a cigar.
I can't believe I forgot this song
Think deep, this is where its at!!
#RIP Ray Thomas
This music video was directed by Stephen Hopkins, who went on to helm Hollywood actioners such as Predator 2 and Blown Away.
They clearly don't appreciate the better side of rock music. It's no point in arguing with these types of people.
enfin un français qui se manifeste ! je suis fan du groupe et cet album est super tout simplement et quel son !
This music video is straight out of a drunken nightmare, I love it.
Somehow, when I think of the Moody Blues, I don't think of them as being in touch with "the atmosphere on the street"....
The Moody blues never seem to run out of music. They have a lot of albums and are still the greatest band of all time.
Thank goodness we have you tube to hear it all now.
one of their best
My Chuck took me there. Been there 45 years. What a ride
WANTED TIME MACHINE to take me back to the 1980s
I saw them on Oct. 21st 2016 and like everyone else in the place, left with a big smile on my face and a happy feeling inside. Can anyone relate!? :-)
If I had only lived on the other side of life...
This is a rarity: a video from 1986 that had a budget. Labels were slashing video budgets and most bands had to do with stylized performance videos.
Strangely, I think the video goes great with the song... and I think I actually understand it in a way o.o
I don't know why, but Moody Blues always makes me think of Disneyland -- the orchestral stuff from the early days obviously, and the synth stuff in the 80s makes me think of 80s Disneyland.
BRILLANT!!!
The video blew me away. Would love to know who the woman was. Any thoughts?
I think this song was on an episode of Miami Vice back in the 80's.
It brings back memories
WHY don't we let our shining stars/heros grow up & be real folks ?
can't wait for march 26 seeing them live!!!
Wow it's been 11 years buddy how was it?...11 years ago
How come I never hear this song on the radio......ever!!!
Exelentes mody blues al otro lado de la vida mas que esquisita esta melodia que voz mostruo de la voz
A great MB song. Who is that model? She's stunning.
genuine came alive dancing with him at 2016 to blue word
one of the best videoclips from the best band ever.
greating from the Netherlands
So awesome
Way underplayed song
Thanks for self re-branding this! You own it and always will!
Esa música me hace volver al tiempo, la baile mucho en Circu´s - Leblon Rio de Janeiro. Fueron mis años dorados
I just found this song and it is great
When i saw them live a few weeks ago they played this video in the background, was very entertaining seeing the then and now :) still played awesome though Graeme edge turned 69 earlier this year :P
It's on the "Octave" album, I think it's one of the last vinyls from these guys
No
. It's in the album of the same title, from 1986.
This is from "The Other Side Of Life" album released in1986
They could create wan entire series based off this... Call it "The other Side of Life" and it features this cabbie as the narrator or "host" ..... different tales
Absoluta maravilla.
Another song that should have been way more popular than it was. But we have today's crap on the radio so it's alright.
Wonderful
This not the true Moody Blues. PERIOD.
This is a great song and a great and bizarre video...the only downside is that they don't play the entire song
Ray Thomas looks so pissed in this.
2:22 - "Goddamn it....they got me dressed like one of the Village People playing a tambourine. I'm a FLAUTIST, dammit! .....Seriously....YOU try playing the flute!"
sorry, sweetheart, you don't get it. remember, they are on the 'other' side....peace
LOL classic! yeah he didn't wanna be in this lol
That's probably what he was thinking R.I.P. Ray
I thought I was watching an Olive Garden commercial in the beginning 😂
Need more John Lodge.
But i do like it.
Buenisima.
This looks like a very expensive music video, at the time
Someone actually said: "Let's take a good song and make the strangest nonsensical video of all time"...and someone else said, "good idea".
Did you share this with me? I have NO idea where it came from!
Miami Vice flashback...
How's this for irony? I was thinking of this song in the shower this morning, but couldn't remember the title. I come on UA-cam & it's literally recommended to me! As for the creepy cabbie; he reminds me of the ghost of Christmas past on Scrooged, something else that I was thinking about before I stumbled upon this video, because of the holidays. This is the first time I've seen the video version, fab song, dorky vid! Didn't that beautiful woman appear on an ELO vid in 1984?
Moodies playing in a sewer tunnel. I always knew they could do anything.
Lindão Meio-dia Grã
Welcome to the world of insanity...Damn.
+Psyqhical "Celly" Yep.
Balance! The dark & the light. The wrong teachs what's right. No fear, understand it. & you'll know where you are.
80's excess personified here..Although it's nothing like today's self-absorbed iGeneration...
Was this filmed in the Cavern Club?
The guy with the atomic bomb is like "look what I found! Cool, right?"
