I'm pretty sure you can just press Ctrl + m2 on a front to select all units assigned to it
then if you draw an attack order it will immediately be assigned to that front
without having to faff about with spacebar

Phew, micro guide is so dependent on your current situation, it's hard to really make a guide on that..
