- At Broadway Backwards 2015, stage and television icon Florence Henderson got the second act rolling by exploring a fleeting attraction to “dames.” Henderson and a stage full of leggy beauties delivered a decidedly bawdy twist on the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic “There’s Nothing Like a Dame” from South Pacific.
Broadway Backwards, the annual Broadway extravaganza celebrating the LGBTQ+ community through the great songs of musical theater, returns to Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre on Monday, March 13, 2023. The beloved evening and its star-studded cast will embrace love and self-expression in true Broadway fashion.

Broadway Backwards creator Robert Bartley directed and choreographed the show. Mary-Mitchell Campbell was music supervisor and Tim Rosser music director. Adam Roberts served as associate choreographer with lighting design by Ryan O’Gara, costume design by Bernadette Banner and sound design by Matthew Kraus. The production stage manager was Peter Lawrence.

Florence was a wonderful actress who brought joy to millions. RIP dear.
This video started and I wasn’t expecting that... at all...
Just think, all those people just got felt up by Mrs. Brady
This video makes me miss Florence Henderson even more. What a game girl. How wonderful that Florence Henderson held onto her superb talent her entire life. I wonder what Oscar Hammerstein and Richard Rodgers would have thought of one of their favorite sopranos doing this version of their great anthem of male desire.
What a dame. RIP Florence.
Rest in peace marvelous lady Born on February 14,1934 and died on November 24,2016.She will be very much missed
Absolutely love it... Florence Henderson can't go wrong here!
Also, that hot nurse's high note at 2:29 before the drop... Goodness gracious! Even Florence's reply that came afterwards sold it! 😊❤️
What a bummer we dont have Florence Henderson with us anymore... :(
I remembered this performance after finding out she just passed. What a dame!
i didn’t know what to expect but it definitely wasn’t that and i loved every second of it

Florence Henderson wasn’t a mere dame. She was a legend! I’ll never forget the first time I saw this and was a gay man falling in love with a talented lady!
No wonder Alice never married Sam the Butcher.
Who played Alice???? Loved that!
GODDESS!!!
I still think Florence Henderson was one of the most beautiful women that ever lived!
2020???
hermoso
does anyone know who played the delivery woman who does that crazy split? she looks familiar
RIP
I miss Aunt Florence. She was so sweet, but so naughty
gahh I hate the objectification of women.....but when it's gay, i'll let it slide
Dick Rodgers must have been turning over in his grave, though Oscar I suspect might have taken a somewhat more enlightened attitude.
But what about Sam the butcher? 😂
Richard Rodgers must have died again! She did anything to stay relevant. Her voice was long gone!!
Doesn't work for me and usually these reversal things do... just an opinion
