Genuine question: do you not have kebab shops in the US? We have shwarma everywhere in the UK - it's like a late night drunk food here, so it's weird to see someone trying it like it's their first time. Or was it that it was absolutely amazing and that's why it looked like it was your first time trying it? No hate, just genuinely confused 🤣
This is a great question and the answer is two-fold. First, to give credit where credit is due, the shawarma was absolutely amazing, and we genuinely loved it. Part two is that I am sure there are kebab shops many places in the U.S., but to be totally honest, we didn't get out much before we started traveling and making videos for our channel. We are introverts by nature, so we worked a lot, and cooked at home a lot to save money for travel. Thanks so much for watching and leaving us a comment 🙌
@@ThePassportCouple that makes a lot of sense. It did look amazing! Kebabs are a British staple (especially after a night out) so I was really confused. I've seen them everywhere in Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Romania too so assumed they were a global thing 😅 Love your channel - I've been wanting to travel solo for ages, but taking that first step is terrifying so I've been watching your videos for a solid year which is giving me a lot of inspiration. For now I stick to cruising (that's not as scary solo!!) ☺
@@theowletblog I can definitely see it being a great late night food and you have named some countries we really want to visit soon so I am excited to hear that there is more Shawarma to be had. And thanks so much for watching over the last year, it means more than we can say. And we definitely understand that taking the first step is scary, we remember ours very well. I don't think many people thought we would follow through with it. Heck, I don't know if we believed we would. But with a lot of planning, a little luck, and probably more insanity, we did. We hope our continued adventures and misadventures encourage you to take the step when you are ready. Until then, cruising is an awesome way to travel and it sounds like you have seen many amazing places 🌎🛳
Karak chai ( tea) is form the south asia Pakistani orgin. It has 0 to do with arabs. Same with the parantha is from south asia . Arab over there also claimed to have made "pink tea" that is famous from Pakistan the name of pink tea is kashmir tea (pink tea) its not theirs. They have green tea and meat n rice. They dont have spicy food. Originally the arabs have bland food. They have tasty food but not like south asian. Uae is just a big fat mix. You will not see unique or cultural food their at all cos the locals dont even live there nor do they have anything remotely interesting.
you don't know what you're talking about. the karak tea served in the gulf is different than the one served in South Asia, its a blend between Indian masala chai and local milk tea. the term karak gained popularity cuz of people asking the usually Indian store owner to make it stronger. as for part no one claims it's arabic but the ones with chips and different kinds of fillings is an Arab thing. It's a blend of cultures just like Texmex for example. Also our food isn't bland

All of that food looked AMAZING! And we agree--meat cooked on a spit is the best!
It was so good, and the meat cooked on the spit was wildly good, but I don't think it can compete with your world famous tacos 🌮👏
Loving the long videos! You both are fun to watch! Thanks for sharing

Hi, how is abu dhabi?
Amazing 👍
Wow
Also when you say "chai tea"- it translate to tea tea. Dont have a clue why they named it like that.

Oh! Thanks so much for sharing that information! It’s always interesting to learn about different food origins and cultural influences 😊
