Typical British understatement "not much done today", after making sure everything fits correctly and nothing goes amiss during welding. Enjoying this sooo much.
I’ve got to hand it to you Dom, when I first saw the shell I thought it was scrap…. Now it’s starting to look like a car again, respect to you for putting the time and effort to save it!
Need to keep patting your backs lads, every panel or spot weld is a step closer. Really need to give yourself credits it’s a massive undertaking but you’re being so precise and accurate. This is gonna be so so good when finished!! Favourite UA-cam channel and love seeing honestjon and working together, great guy 👍🏻👍🏻
I am 77 years old and these videos take me back to the 1970s when I built and registered new, the Mini OFD 113M. ....(which was later given the log book label 'BUILT UP') ....and restored a couple of other vehicles. The banter reminds me of the humour we had all those years ago! Thank you so much. (Also an avid viewer of 'Repair Shop'.)
I woul just like to add that the filming, editing and overall presentation of your videos is TV quality and easily the best I've seen on UA-cam. Brilliantly done everyone!
Thanks for the video. I sympathise with you on the low temperature. It was always going to be a long term project and you're dead right to take as long as it needs. Best wishes.
This build is my favorite project video at the moment. Your attention to detail for precision fitment will pay dividends all along the way. No "close enough" gor you lads. Good on you both.
I am in no way mechanical in nature but I find your videos so informative and interesting. Thank you for educating me in the many processes you undertake in your restorations.👍👍👏👏👏
Hello Dom, I used to have a unit like yours. In the winter if I didn’t have the sealing fan on when heating the unit all the heat just sat near the roof. So if you don’t have one I would get a couple of room fans high up on the mezzanine pointing down. You won’t believe the difference they will make.👍
Better taking your time and not rushing things, especially with a project like this. Is actually a lot of work, you can actually see her shape now where before it was nothing. 👍
You guys continue to provide me with my absolute best weekly entertainment. Once again absolutely absorbing sections of this video and cant wait till the next episode. Richard
What superb progress!!!!! It's all about making sure it's right before you weld it up. We have all done it, whack it together then you find it's not quite right and you have to take it apart again. She is starting to look really good folks.
Measure three hundred times................... "err have we got it right? says Dom..... YES!! says John .... cut once! Lol Seriously though, I know when you first started the Porche project I said "Chop it up and chuck it in the skip," but it's really looking good with the new panels now and I take it all back. Dom you could clearly see that it was possible, where I could not. So fair play to you. Now I'm looking forward to more Porche videos!
Always great videos Dom looking better every time you underestimate you ability all the time great to see Jon again you both work brilliantly together well done guys looking forward to seeing the next video 👍❤️
Brilliant Dom! I know exactly how tough it is and how vital it is to get stuff like this aligned correctly as I'm currently trying to get the back of my 67 MGB all aligned before welding it together, it was accident damaged decades ago, but I kept it with the intention of restoring it. Its an unyielding 3D steel juigsaw of wings, boot floor, back panel and boot lid that HAS to be right.
This is just amazing work being done by you two. I love the laughter during the process too. 2 pleasant chaps having fun in the workshop. Makes me want to join in 😂 nice hair cut Dom 🫵🏻👍🏻
You are spot on, Dom. You get it even slightly out, the job will NEVER be right. Taking your time gets all the basics right. Tedious, time-consuming but utterly, utterly vital.
Interesting to see the inner rear panel comes kind of with the sides as on piece , rather than an inner panel with separate sides , and I need a big old spot welder , I go nuts plugging everything!
Absolutely the best videos every week! 'Not much done!' You are too modest.
Typical British understatement "not much done today", after making sure everything fits correctly and nothing goes amiss during welding. Enjoying this sooo much.
Well done lads! I think it’s time for a proper heater. Surely there must be a vendor out there that would sponsor you and offer up what you need.
I’ve got to hand it to you Dom, when I first saw the shell I thought it was scrap…. Now it’s starting to look like a car again, respect to you for putting the time and effort to save it!
wow, things really are starting to take shape. When you guys get going, you really get going.

7 P's, time is never wasted in Preparation! Great work and progress guys 👏
Interesting video Dom, good to see you are remembering "cut/weld once - measure 27 times" !! 🤣
Looking good guys. It's been quite a project. Keep at it. Happy Motoring!

Fab progress! Well done both! Nice to see new bits going on 😍😎👍🏻
Quality over quantity. Great to see the engine bay take shape!
I woul just like to add that the filming, editing and overall presentation of your videos is TV quality and easily the best I've seen on UA-cam. Brilliantly done everyone!
Wow, thank you!
Great to see another step to a 356 being saved! We also get a free lesson on restoring a 356, no regrets.
The 356 is the best shape in the the whole of the car world. You're doing God's work Dominic. 😇
😂
Thanks for the video. I sympathise with you on the low temperature. It was always going to be a long term project and you're dead right to take as long as it needs. Best wishes.
5:52 Product placement perfection 👌🏻

Getting there
Hello Dom, I used to have a unit like yours.

Thanks for the info

I like the improvisation, using a paint stirrer to help position the spot welder 😂
Good progress . . looks like a car now.
What superb progress!!!!! It's all about making sure it's right before you weld it up. We have all done it, whack it together then you find it's not quite right and you have to take it apart again.

Much appreciated!
Love the progress! You and john Keep it interesting! Its like hanging out with my friends!
Far more interesting and inspirational to see fresh metal being fitted than the task of cutting out the rust-ravaged hulk! Carry on!
Wish I could push the "Like" button several more times!!
Well done Dom and John!
It’s a wonderful job you and John are doing take your time to get it right, if it’s out you’re going to have all sorts of grief down the line ❤
So awesome to see the great John with you. You are a great team. Did I tell you I love the music? Reminds me at times of the legendary JJ Cale.
Hi Dom & John, Coming along nicely VROOM, measure twice fix once. Back fits a treat 😅, Stay safe All the best Brian 😃
Wonderful job gents. If you’re not careful that’s going to start looking like a car!
Obviously, better not to rush these things. Big job, you guys have taken on, but the way it's shaping up, I'm
sure it'll all be fine in the end.
Outstanding progress 👏 👌. Can't rush stuff like that. You'd cure for months of you found it was in the wrong place later!
You need to get some heating it helps I promise it does keep up the great work.
Great job guys!
Great work guys
Nice one boys, it's looking so good.

I like that spot welder.
So do I!!
Interesting to see the inner rear panel comes kind of with the sides as on piece , rather than an inner panel with separate sides , and I need a big old spot welder , I go nuts plugging everything!
Just brilliant
Well done boys, you do right dry fitting the panels. Thanks for the video.👍👍
