Tbh. Dragon age was never as good as we remember. It was a great concept we wanted to see more of but got watterd down with every installment.
Oh and the pirate chick. I liked her. The only elements of the game I liked was the way they treated magic and the " kill knife" I want that knife...
If they gave a replica of that original knife with the collector edition I would buy it... I'd throw the game away but I would buy it.

Fan service is one of the smartest thing a gaming studio can add, especially if it is well designed. Make sexy characters tease and make fan favorites look awesome. Fans will absolutely love it will be amazing for positive word of mouth spread. They are extremely naive to think otherwise.

DAO had alot of spells that were uneccesary (most of them should jsut be normal passives in a skill tree ) and some should just be removed for beign shitt and DA2 had really good implentation but could further be expanded with alot of DAO spells and ofc DA2 combat system (i love action combat sue me) but instead we get dragon age inquisition... no fireball gtf out bioware and u replace it with a insta mine?? i mean WTF and where is my firestorm or lightning storm?? nahh removed. something else that would be cool is if u were a mage u could specialise in an element like lightnign or fire and u would be better at casting spells aligned with that element and had buffs and bonuses if u used that elemetn at the cost of other elements beign weaker. and for those who like spellsword deff have the lightsaber type weapon from inquisition and some other spells thats more defensive and melee oriented (maybe inquisition there was fine i always played a rift mage soo) and they completely reskinned force mage and then was like ohh look a new magic tree never had that before.. im not gonna start on blood magic cause jezus bioware.
mage is always my first choice its why this was directed at being a mage but yea other than that they could have added alot more from Origins into inquisition maybe in a dlc or something atleast but nope lets have a dlc that lets dwarves be mages and then let everyone be a mage now (i did enjoy that dlc dont get me wrong its just in a way it kinda ruined the whole dwarven thing about not being able to wield magic) srry was abit of a rant but yea they deff killed magic in theyr games (they killed it in veilguard with only having 3 hotkeys WHY ONLY 3??? u can have 8 hotkeys in inquisition on all plattforms, anyone know why they would continue with this crap?)

I was so excited for another Mass Effect game, but if this is what they're doing to Dragon Age...maybe Shepard should just stay dead.

Anyone remember in the mass effect trilogy where your choices and relations carry from game to game. Even small characters we meet in ME1 make a return in ME3 and so one even if it’s just a little role relating to your original meeting. What happened to that ?

Devs got lazy when they found out how dumb the average gamer is. Complain complain just to buy it anyway.
It's part of what draws people to these franchises. Shaping the world so each playthrough is different, not only between our own characters but those of every other player. We are playing in OUR version of the Milky Way or Thedas. Bioware doesn't know its fanbase as well as they claim if they don't see how that's so important.

I don't think Dragon Age fans want an Endgame style reunion of all of the games' cast or even for previous characters to all have major roles. But it's just been revealed that the only thing Veilguard will acknowledge, as far as state of the world goes, is the fate of the Inquisition, who the Inquisitor romanced and if they vowed to save or stop Solas. That's it.
What's been drawing people to Dragon Age is the ability to impact the world through our choices, even if it ends up in subtle ways, we are playing in OUR world. Our playthroughs will always be different than someone else's.
But now everyone will be put back at square one of a new board with only 3 choices that don't even begin to capture all the variations in Inquisition. Basically the only thing that matters now is the final DLC of the last game. This has got fans rightly pissed.
Veilguard is feeling more and more like a soft reboot of the series.

Modern Game Developers make games for themselves and not for the consumers.
Which is why no one buys them.
They are not entertaining. The themes and plots in those games are in service of the developers dogmas and not a story that makes any sense in the worlds they vandalized to push them.
This is getting old. And we will watch them ALL fail until they learn that the consumers are the only thing that matters. Keep them happy and entertained, give them a good story, and you will be successful.

Woke writers do seem specifically bad. I think it's because they keep confusing surface details for character and depth. Their characters always seem so one-dimensional. I suppose that makes sense if you're a Foucault fan, you wouldn't actually believe character development and growth is possible.

My issue with Veilguard is that its no longer the dragon age games I showed up for, its now an action rpg power fantasy. The dark themes are gone.
