- Guitar World tech editor Paul Riario checks out the KX300 Etched from Cort, a guitar with 15㎜ Solid Swamp Ash top that received a sand blasted open-pore finish with red and gold color accents on a matte black background to add a layered look called “etched”.

We're in the era where the brand name on the headstock should no longer matter, at least not as much as before.
I'm starting to realize that about the latest guitars.
They make a large part of the guitars you see anyway. Might as well check theirs out too.
Black paint marks at neck heal joint, Cracked neck heal joint, Super dry fret board, Super scratchy Frets, Super wobly 3 way toggle switch, Tiny dents and scratches, Untidy paint job, Truss rod is very tight, Volume and Tone knobs has stops while moving, Tuning pegs aren't smooth they too have stops while adjusting. All and all a substandard product combine with negligent and Horrible Quality Control.
@@aakaashbulani9237 you have one like that or you just have good eyes?
@filhodaoutra I own one, and I regret buying it after watching youtube videos, they all are just paid reviews ....
Cort has always crafted top professional quality guitars whether they're own brand or for other major brands Corts quality of craftsmanship is remarkable
Cort stepped it up a notch
Paul stepped it a notch. People used to burn this guy all day.
Cort has Always crafted top professional quality guitars whether its their own or for other brands excellent quality craftsmanship
Damn. That looks good!. Pls do more cort
Very nice looking guitar!
I've been trying to find a decent guitar in the 600 to 800 dollar range... I think I have finally found my guitar!! Black and Red are my favorite colors so this is right up my alley!
How was the guitar (if you purchased it)
@@humangaming2024 I ended up spending a few hundred more and went with a PRS SE Custom 24. I spent a lot of time trying to find the right guitar in the 600 to 800 range, and I felt like the PRS was a better guitar so I pulled the trigger on it.
Etched version is there different spec and sound with original KX300
I just got one of these just not an etched series , its impressed me that im now looking at the kx500 with the fishmans .
How much price in usd to you bought sir.?
@@aerokurt1 in India its around 32k man...for KX300 Etched Black Gold, Red one is not available yet
What's the nut width of the kx 300 etched? Looking forward to buying it if it's 1 3/4" / 45 mm
I'm looking for something I can comfortably droptune and keep it their. Would this guitar be suitable?
Awesome🎸👍
Do you think this guitar is good for classical hard rock and prog rock (genesis, deep purple) and jazz fusion?
Yeah great guitars. Good Value for money
Hot tone 😮
It's such a great time to be a guitar player.
The hardest part is the amount of choice.
yeah it has become "normal" to own 6 or 7 guitars, instead of smart buying one or two that can do the job.
Would look nicer with a darker fingerboard, but at least that can be dyed. Glad they have the volume knob out of the way and no ugly pickup rings.
Yea, ebony board and black binding
How are the pickups ???? I am really looking forward to but one of these.
It's pretty awesome, I love them
EMGs
Now they need to dive into the Floating Floyd world and I would purchase one. Especially if it looks like this one
There are actually a few more new releases with Floyd. Just check them out. You'll love them👍
Yeah they should look as heavy as Metallica riffs and play as smooth as ac/dc solos
@@pranjalsharma3370 yeah but with Floyd special which is total crap
@@rahuldev5519We may upgrade it?
TBH Cort's Floyd systems are p.i.t.a. Not recommended. I had to deal with string height quite often till the mounting hex-screw gave up got stripped. These hard tails look very promising on the other hand.
No brand can beat this Brand👍
Cort dominates..
Fender beats them all bro !! Versatile guitars but cort khali metal kia a66a hai !! And their are tons of brand for metal music
@@bibhasroy3815 Yes you are right. But Actually I was talking from the perspective of Cost. This guitar costs much less. You get EMG's. They are a beast And at this price point , no brand comes to my mind🤔
@@pranjalsharma3370 yes if u it see that way there r squire series Also but thats for players like me who plays blues jazz country funk fusion type of stuff and how can i forget rock and roll...
@@bibhasroy3815 agreed👍
@@bibhasroy3815 even squire series are same price as this kx300 (talking about squire affinity rest are shit). Cort dominates in price to perf ratio
I own one, the body is light so it goes down by the neck side when standing
Can I get a leftie please
it makes me kinda sad to see how both Cort and Harley Benton apparently were the only bigger manufacturers who were interested in putting EMGs newest PUs in guitars and make bulk deals for them. On the one side its great to get these kind of budget guitars with namebrand killer PUs, on the other it tells you a lot about how fishman fluence is kicking EMGs butt.
The Kx500 I believe has Fishman moderns in it 😬😬
Everyone I know who owns Fishmans say they suck really hard. I say noone swings like the king, especially with EMG's new offerings.
Fishman great for metal you know what you got in Emg s
that looks lawsuit levels of the acle kahney signature from mayones
This!
Mayones use this top on most of their models
@@nazarf1884 i mean fender use these finishes too
Timbre Lindo
And the price......??
$499 au

Damn nice guitar that, cort has really stepped up their game but the fingerboard throws me off👀
why is that?
Pao Ferro fretboard.
Well that's a guitar I'll never be able to touch then.
Why
what?
Wow they finally made a decent guitar for Players!...
After all those years of making cheap bundle guitar sets n stuff ....
lawsuit from mayones incoming
why not PRS SE LTD Sand-Blasted Swamp Ash ?
"Is Mayones an instrument?" - Patrick Star
Cleans are not that good but it's good for metal.
Honestly doesn't sound that good
Absolutely
It sounded good imo
Its for hard rock, metal and it has high output active emg pickup.
@@raibiksarkarbardhan8732 I know, but I still didn't think it sounded good for anything. Just my opinion.
@@ridge9451 yeah it might be,many people don't like emg sound. Many users tell that dynamics is lost in that sound, cleans are not good. But I think the active emgs are good for metal.
Stop lying Paul. It's an electric guitar not acoustic. The wood doesn't have any effect on the sound once plugged in to an amp. Pickups are magnetic. What is that ? Some magical ferromagnetic wood ? Cut the shit. You plug the guitar in , adjust your bass mids and treble, then you add reverb delay and gain, therefore the sound of the instrument is colored. Stop lying to people. Tonewood on an acoustic is a thing. On an electric fuck no.
Appreciate that you have accepted that fact yourself, but perhaps Paul, like many others, haven't, and your message may be just a liiiitttle too aggressive for non-believers to even regard you seriously buddy :)
I'm sure Paul isn't intentionally "lying" as you so vehemently accuse him of doing.
It's amazing that its 2020 and so many people still believe in thst tonewood nonsense😂
Body woods and necks actually make a dramatically big difference in sound. You need a developed ear to recognize all the tonal and sound differences, that takes awhile on its own.My body wood preferences are alder and mahogany.
