    The contrast between how this movie and 1950s Hollywood (or even today) portray other cultures and ethnicities is as bright as day. Soviets were way ahead of the their times.

    • @AsgolVerker
      @AsgolVerker 4 місяці тому +4

      I think it is because the Soviets understood that everyone, regardless of our ethnicity, language or culture, is human with many peculiarities that make us unique, basically Soviet films have an unmatched understanding of human
      In Hollywood movies, the characters have no humanity, everything is based on stereotypes, "Native Americans, thieves and barbarians", "good cowboys", "the good guys always win", in the case of Westerns, in war movies, This disastrous trend continues, in addition to the fact that the stories are so simple that they barely reach the intellectual level of a teenager, for example: "bad Germans", "drunk and stupid Soviets", "cowardly French", "Americans are superheroes". ", "we saved the world", "war is great", and it basically boils down to the fact that the Germans are not human, but rather a kind of brute demons without personality or humanity, not to mention the Soviets who are portrayed in the same way. worst possible way, and by the way, the atomic bomb was for democracy, it was not a war crime according to these films, in addition to inflating and overvaluing the battle of Normandy, which is given titles that it does not deserve such as " the most important battle in history", "the battle that changed the course of the war", "the defeat of Germany", when really those considerations are for other battles such as Stalingrad, Leningrad, Moscow, Kursk, Operation Bagration and others like the battle for the Vistula, the Oder or the Battle of Berlin itself.
      Likewise, another defect is that the characters are pigeonholed because of their skin color, gender or sexuality, a black person will always be either an exaggerated hero or a stupid criminal, gang member and without impulse control, an Asian should limit himself to being an artist martial, gay characters base their entire message and personality on being gay, they have no essence, women base their entire participation on: "I am a strong and tough woman" or "I am a damsel who needs to be rescued by an alpha", no there is nothing more to that.
      And so I could continue listing different defects and shortcomings, but it would take me too long, in short, Soviet films better understood humans and what characterizes us, they were not reduced to pigeonholing anyone based on their ethnicity, gender, sexuality or religion

      the Tsarist government was already defeated, the the Bolshewiks Red Army made a military coup against the democratic Duma to establish their ONE PARTY DICTATORSHIP...Nazism and Bolshewism are exactly the same..ideologies with scape goats like Jews and in Russia the Kulaks...also the individual in both Nazism and Bolshewism ins nothing it is the religion of NIHILISTS.

    • @ounzarine5487
      @ounzarine5487 Рік тому +5

      @@jurgbangerter1023 I do not agree with you: the movie does not talk about Nazism or Communism! It is indeed a philosophic movie! Since the beginning, there were several RED people walking in the desert, with sand everywhere: it is the symbol of the REVOLUTION trying to find its path! This "long walk" throughout the desert is noticeable, and we can find it in the philosophy of other revolutions!
      The girl is the symbol of the RED REVOLUTION, since she separated from the group, and began her own history, without any concessions over the "RED" philosophy! Here precisely, we can add that REVOLUTION is "orphan", and have to look for the real beginnings of the REVOLUTION: with a group of convinced military, and not in the north and icy environment, but in the desert, the SOUTH! The entire movie is philosophy, not facts!
      At another sequence, the revolutionary girl did not present any concession to her "lover"! The "lover" here is a symbol of "espoir"! At the end, her "lover" dead, but his death is no more important for the REVOLUTION, because the girl has already chosen her path......I mean, the REVOLUTION!
      In all the revolutionary movies, not only the russian ones, there is always a "companion" to the "hero", in order to achieve the mental maturity of the REVOLUTION! So, after the "maturity", the "companion" dies! The movie here did not talk about facts, but it is rich in symbols, very useful to make the spectators understand the idea behind!
