- How to join or combine two or more videos into a single video, using a free tool called Losslesscut. With Losslesscut you can combine videos into one, provided they have the same resolution, framerate and codec, without re-encoding. This is very fast and easy, it takes only a few seconds and I've used it to combine multiple videos in one, such as a long course that I edited as a multi-part course, and uploaded as a single video.
Losslesscut allows you to simply drag all your videos on top of the window, confirm the order you want them in the final video. It allows you to rearrange the videos and then you click 'Merge' and it will export a final video with all of them combined.

Note : If the software seems to crash at 99,9% this is normal, in fact the cpu must generate the new file and if the file is big it can take minutes to make, check your cpu usage to see if the software is working before giving up. I merged 4 files with a total à 10,7go in 8 minutes, while the current re-encoding process take 15 hours on the same computer. Amazing. This is the first time I see a tutorial that actually work like it must. I was sure it was possible to merge them using code, I even tried to code it myself in msdos but I failed.
Thank you! I'm glad it worked for you! I never needed to merge such large files like you did, but it's cool that it handled it. In fact, this program is a UI for ffmpeg - which does all the heavy lifting. You can technically achieve the same things on the command line but of course, with much more difficulty and trial and error. Losslesscut just makes it all easier. I put 1 intro in a 1:30 movie and 3 more videos at the end of 1 minute each, it was very fast to put together, a problem that was garbage, freezing the video, audio out of context
That sounds like a keyframe problem, particularly if the videos are different framerates or sizes or formats.
How do I use the Losslesscut for windows to cut every 30 seconds for whatsapp video
Easy! Open the file in Losslesscut, then go to Edit > Segments > Create fixed duration segments. Enter the duration for a segment and Losslesscut will try to create as many equal duration segments in your video file it can. Hope this helps!

Thank you, for showing this tool. For my work Camtasia is the Problem and lossless-cut the solution.
My Camtasia Projekts are based on up to 150GB Source-Video-Code and Camtasia dies...or is absoluty extremly slow.
So i always produce 4-5 Parts of the mainvideo and merge them after rendering, that works.
Glad it helped. You know, if it's just for cutting videos, you don't even need to use Camtasia. You can just load the original video in Losslesscut and just remove unwanted segments and produce the file without the cuts.
@@Graphicious Yes i know. but if you see my videos, there are tons of effects, Text, animations etc. So i have to produce the single parts in camtasia(but at this time i have some experiments with VEGAS 18 Pro).
@@xrcontrol Got it, yeah, if you need to add effects and animations etc. then you do need to edit somewhere. Have you tried DaVinci Resolve? That's Free for HD output.
@@Graphicious Yes, i have tried DaVinci.......but if you work many years with camasia, it is very hard to change to another video editing software(for me!).
small things editing in camtasia in maybe 10 minutes. in DaVinci i need 3 hours(animation, workflow etc). but camtasia missing many functions what the other has.
So, my plan is, the mainwork i do in camtasia, other things(videoclips runs backward, motion tracking, color grading, special greenscreen features) with Vegas(or DaVinci).
@@xrcontrol Sounds like a good plan. I used to do everything in Premiere, but Camtasia is much easier to work with for quick projects.

Yes, if you combine without encoding and the pieces are the same bitrate, all will be kept.

Look just below that. The one that's asking you to pay is via the marketplaces of Microsoft/Apple. But just below those, there's the free version. I think the creator of the software is trying to perhaps make a little money from it by making it available in the marketplaces, but the free version is also there, on the site.

My old lappy (12 years) is far too slow for the merging process.Before testing this app I tried another open source app:same problem.I just had to give up.I wanted to merge 100 video segments each 3s long & same properties but I stopped the process after 10 minutes.Meanwhile I took a different approach.My cheap smartphone (bought 5 years ago) has so much processing power that it combined lossless with a free android app 200 video files each also 3s long under 10s.Bigger files are also extremely fast combined.Drawback: I have to copy my files from my lappy to my smartphone and then combined video back to the lappy.But given the the time I save it's acceptable.....nice video anyway: didn'y know about this program.
Thanks for the comment. It's weird that this app didn't work with your specific case. It uses ffmpeg in the background to do the processing. But if your phone worked, that's good too.

Nice video. it's not often I find tutorials from people who know their stuff and right to the point. This is the best software I've come across so far but I have problems with video mismatch.
I have videos I need to post but need to add a 2 or 3 minute blank video section at the end. Instead of re encoding the main videos, I was wondering if there's a quick way of just making the 3 minute videos match the main video so I can use this software since it's so quick and easy.
Or maybe there's an easier way to add a blank segment at the end of the main video without merging the smaller video with it.

So I am not sure I understand, do you have this blank, 2-3 minute video as a video already? If so, you can just join it at the end using this tool. It needs to match the framerate and characteristics for it to work though.

I just used this to merge 4 files, each 30gb in size and 2 hours in length. Worked great and didn't take long (I mean it was like 30 minutes, but using editing software it would take days?)
Yeah, it would take a lot for 30 gb, because of the re-encoding. And a ton of hard drive space.

Good video ! Thanks for sharing! Could you make a video showing how tutorial screen captures from Camtasia could be put onto a DVD which could played on a TV? Also, showing best screen capture resolution settings to use in Camtasia for a final output to DVD? And also any DVD author programs you recommend.
Oh, I haven't produced a DVD in ages! Do you really mean DVD or Bluray? Because DVD, you'd have to record or resize your video to 720 x 480 -- that is kind of small and not too sharp for screen recordings. You could capture at a higher resolution, 4:3 aspect and use Windows scaling to make things look larger, and then resize it down during export to the DVD resolution. As far as authoring tools, I can't remember what I used in the past, it was so long ago. Adobe Premiere I think and something from Powerlink I believe.
@@Graphicious yes, I have tried making DVDs from Camtasia recordings (many different resolutions including one you mentioned) but they end not looking very sharp. If you can do one on Blueray instead that would be good since it is newer. Either way, Thanks for sharing what you find on your channel !

I don't think it can do that. It would require re-encoding the video I think, to replace the audio track on it. I tried it recently and it crashed or failed. I think it depends on the formats too.

It seemed like a good software until it started to go over 250% and adding hours of frozen frames thus making one hour video to last 5 hours? Using the option for correction provided didn't help. The individual MP4 files were previously codded by the same online UA-cam downloader are working separately just fine. I tried several times but it seemed it was not meant for bigger files than 1 GB (more or less). Is there a limit to the file size that may cause this issue?
I don't think it's a file size limit. I've done larger files than 1GB with it. I think it comes down to whatever the underlying ffmpeg software can handle and also whether the video file has enough keyframes.
Do not work to me. Simply because of different bitrate of files to join. Boilsoft joiner works fine . =/
Yes, the promise of Losslesscut is that there's no re-encoding. If you're using multiple bitrates, naturally, you have to re-encode the video.
@@Graphicious it's hard to tell. Boilsoft used to work very fast on my old 10 old laptop all the time. But now on a new one with 8 cores it's difficult to feel the difference is there a reencode while joining or is'nt.
@@Graphicious they might have included a reencode option as well. 400 mb of code and such limited options.

Yeah, the author of the program has thought about this and provides a kind of workaround but it is not 100%. See here: github.com/mifi/lossless-cut/issues/88

I don't think you can do multi-project combinations, but if you can define the segments and somehow use command-line ffmpeg for it, that might work. Losslesscut uses ffmpeg in the background.

Try enabling the precise cuts in the settings.

In theory, yes, but test it and see. It depends on your media file.

Extensions for what, exactly? You can buy add-ons for Camtasia, such as templates and various pre-built animations. If you are referring to add-ons related to this video, combining videos, Camtasia does this, you just load all the videos in it, one after the other on the timeline and render them, but it won't be the same as this Losslesscut tutorial, because it will mean re-encoding the video to export it.

Yes it is free. Download it from the site, not from the app store links. Look below those.
Hope there's a settings for the Chapters and Subtitles
You can import a video and then use UA-cam chapters to create the segments, if that's what you mean. You can also create the segments manually and export chapters from them, for UA-cam. As far as subtitles, not sure what you mean but you can see the media and add subtitle file and then split and it will split the subtitle with each portion/segment of the video.

Maybe it's a keyframe problem? Not enough keyframes? How long are the videos? Maybe try the solution here, keyframe cut: github.com/mifi/lossless-cut/issues/75

It's likely your videos either have variable bitrate or don't have enough keyframes. I don't think there's a way around it unless you re-encode the videos, maybe using Handbrake... I can't say exactly what the problem might be without having the actual files, but Losslesscut is probably having difficulty getting the video and audio to match.

That is a format used only by the UA-cam app to break down offline videos into chunks. It cannot be converted into anything because it's encrypted and broken into pieces.
