I literally could not believe how incredible Matt sounds!
Literally
Sadly this is BEFORE the accident. This was recorded in 2017
@@rksdmf I was thinking this was not after his accident. I wonder how he's doing now
I thought the same thing because his first interview after the accident he did not sound this good
Right?🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This was 7 years ago.
They got me. Way before his accident
Man for real, Once I heard he filmed Kingdom, I thought finally ALVEY AND NAVY STREET is coming back!
Ah, thanks. I, too, was thinking that he made an amazing change in the last year or so.
Thanks for the heads up. EVERYTHING, now a days......DECEPTION. Doesn't matter what. Deception. Smh.
Before the accident?
@@shaungoodall9285 YES!!!!!! CLICK BAIT THUMB NAIL
Matt Hughes was why I watched UFC for several years. He is MY guy and I loved every fight he had. Everything Matt said about UFC parties to watch with your friends to stop watching because they sold out with too frequent fights is 100% true. He did fight in the golden age of the UFC and he was an amazing champion. What an incredible guy. I wish Matt & his family the very best and to continue staying blessed.
You might have a different perspective if you read his autobiography. A great fighter; a terrible human being.
Same. Him and Rich Franklin.
Illinois born and raised. My first job was working on a neighbors farm. Walked over every day at 6 in the morning and fed all the animals. Hard work but id do it all over again. Matt makes me proud to be from Illinois.
The accident was not part of the interview. And Matt sounds great. I believe this interview must have been taped just prior to the trainwreck back in 2017. One of the best welterweights of all time.
Matt's truck wreck happened in June of 2017. This interview occurred just prior to that.
Shoot. For a few minutes I thought he was healed.
@@GermanFrisbeeDogme too
Old interview. You should be ashamed for not disclosing that!
Damn I thought this was after his accident
2017 from what i seen
Oh....:( i thought maybe he had recovered this much... Hopefully he is still improving.
Damn I thought he got better ...my hero I was a wrestler in highschool this guy along with my team mar vista wrestling 2002-2006 love my team thank you matt
Stop whining like a little b-tch
I was hopeful that this was recent, and Matt made a complete recovery.. Unfortunately, this was from 2017 before his accident. Now, I'm just happy that he is still alive.
After watching this video/interview, I now have a new found respect for Matt Hughes. This is one incredible man with an abominable spirit! Matt is a first class individual that is very humble. Now, it's his time to shine as a father and husband! Much respect
Matt Hughes was an absolute beast!! I hope all is well with him after his near fatal accident😢I had the privilege to watch Matt inside the octagon! The man was/is a true warrior
I’ve always loved Matt Hughes and can remember watching his fights back when you had to wait quite a while for a pay per view and just loved his way he went about it and how he carried himself, wasn’t a cocky fighter or a talker.. that man always came to work with one goal in mind your will is not going to outdo my will and he’s such a smart guy and can tell that from this interview on the mindset and how he was brought up like that of the old days an old soul.. love his story
I'm happy to see this guy has recovered so much his life story would make one hell of a movie..
this is prior to the accident
@@joshyman91297 thanks I had no idea just because I know that happened many years ago and this interview looks like it just dropped on this channel..
lol this was 7 years ago dummy
He’s a sick little weirdo if u read his book. A true sociopath. Happy BJ and GSP whooped him
Great interview with one of the legends in the sport of MMA!
I've seen akot...but 7 minutes in..THIS is my favorite
I'd pay for my kid to listen to a speech from Matt Hughes in person.
Great interview!
I'm so glad he's still around one of the greatest...
Grateful for his story.
I became a huge Matt Hughes fan when I was in the Navy. This is back when the UFC was only in the 30’s. I have followed his career ever since. It’s great to see him make such an amazing recovery.
wow. the progress Matt's made is incredible. What a recovery!!
Wow! Matt has come along way! Glad to see that he’s doing so well
Interesting video on Matt Hughes. Thank you. This interviewer obviously is unfamiliar with actual work. Farmwork can exhaust a newbie in 15 minutes. Hard working men and boys do it day in day out for decades. God bless our farmworkers and their families. 👍🏽
I’ve watched Matt fight so many times, and now I have even more respect and appreciation for this man, Love ya my friend 👍🌹
Wow he's doing so much better. Amazing recovery.
This is before his accident jeez pay attn.
It's good to see him get back. God bless you Matt
Unfortunately, this is before he got hurt.
Wow... Matt has came a long ways.
Sadly this is BEFORE the accident. This was recorded in 2017
@@rksdmf yeah, I figured that out at the end when he said he was 43...
The farm boys i wrestled in high school were the toughest men i have wrestled. In fact, there were 2 men in high school, the same weight and age as my brother and I. We never won a match between these 2 fellas and we met them had lunch and discussed our childhood wrestling practices. The only differences we all agreed on, and is, the reason these guys were tougher than us, was, we ate fast food, shopped at the groceries store, and we had no animals to wrestle with, really, these guys would wrestle the baby cows. Loved my time in this sport.
Great interview Matt and Joe!
Great interview JB. Matt is a UFC Icon😎
It's great to hear Matt he has come a long way. He was the best fighter to watch good job Matt💪
The mans an inspiration. I grew up in western Kentucky in the 80s doing that farm work. Tobacco. Hay. Farm work made me into a hardworking and mentally tough and strong as f for my size. Matt used this to achieve greatness. The kinda work does breed a kinda hatred for the people who has it all give to them. The funny thing is theat we were actual the lucky ones having to work and learn. Builds strong men. Getting hit by a train. To come back to this. What a triumph. Well done hughes. I would love to train with you. Couple old farm boys
A lot of great memories of the farm.
Wow! He’s 100% back! Hard work and dedication Matt
This was 7 years ago. 😂
Wow! He sounds incredible!! Good for him!
This interview was in 2017, pre-accident.
@@Quaerite_VerumYeah they conveniently left that out in the description. For whatever reason this interview is being reposted on social media & forums..majority of ppl think he's made a full recovery, fooled me at first as well
That guy in the day was our "country", all American Hero. He made the UFC worth watching for alot of us. Not taking anything from any other fighter, he was our favorite.
Matt sounds so much better! Put an instant smile on my face to see he’s recovered to the point he’s at! Matt’s a UFC legend I loved watching fight! Best wishes to Matt! Happy to see you in a better place!
This was 30 days before the accident...
I don't get how ppl don't understand it was before his horrific accident
1st. So Glad Matt seems to be fully recovered 2. I was a huge Hughes Fan!! 3. God Bless
This interview was awesome
Even with the darkness that lives in the shadow of Matt Hughes, he had some unbelievable moments within that octagon, that will always live on. Definitely breaks your heart to learn how he may or may not actually be as a man in general. Staying within his career, I’m grateful to have witnessed many of these moments as they happened. Wish Matt the best and he as an athlete will always be one of my hero’s and on my Mount Rushmore of fighters from what I call the second coming of the UFC. During the era of prime Chuck Liddell, Randy Courture, Matt Hughes, BJ Penn, Matt Serra and the beginning of GSP, Anderson Silva Karo Parisyan
Love the Hughes serra gsp days
WOW. So happy to see he sounds exactly like he did before his accident. Absolutely amazing...
this is prior to the accident
Absolutely astonishing recovery. Wow
This interview was in 2017, pre-accident.
Matt Hughes is a savage and a legend. I also really respect Joe Buck. 🙏 Thanks for the interview.
This is the story that should be called 'UNBREAKABLE'
A True UFC Legend 👏
Im so excited to see he's doing better. God Bless You Matt .
Ohhh yes!!!!!Matt sounds like his old self again!!!God can heal any wounds 🙏..Great job Matt,I'm 43,I remember when I was younger,me and the boys would order ppvs to watch Matt.
This was filmed before the accident.
I love how he is now! I remember watching the ESPN documentary and i never would have thought this is how he communicated now.
oh wow hes recovered so well! amazing
Hay matt its so good to see you! you are so blessed! I wish you the best!
Thanks Matt!! A time in my life when going to a neighboring small town and throwing down was common. The best years of UFC were when you were the champ! Never been so happy when you overcame the Trigg cheap shot and took him out…just wish you could have been on top giving him even more of what he needed!!
This is great!
We love you Matt
Such an elegant speaker, humble and yet immensely confident. Great fighter and a great guy. Truly a baby-faced assassin.
I remember this man encouraged me thanks Matt
Respect to Matt Huges one of the best welterweights in UFC history. He’s a hard working farm guy. Watching Matt fight in the early days helped make me become a big MMA fan. He trained at the Milatich camp with a bunch of killers at the time they were the top camp in mma for having a bunch of top level fighters. The heavy weight champ Tim Silva, guys like a young Robbie Lawler. Pat militich, list goes on. Matt was a clean fighter never did steroids but he fought guys juiced to the gills this was pre usada no real drug testing. He still had a very successful run in the ufc multiple defending welterweight champ. He had some of the most entertaining fights I have ever seen. He fight prime BJ penn, Carlos Newton, GSP, frank trigg a juicedto the gills Thiago Alves. Matt helped put UFC on the Map it’s guys like him that got the sport to the level it is today. Without guys like Matt UFC would of went bank rupt and died that’s a fact.
This is the staple for a true family! It breeds a person that knows how to get it done!!!
Man... what a comeback. Happy to hear him speaking so clearly. You're a legend Matt. A country boy will survive!!!
Unfortunately this was filmed 7 years ago. Well before his accident :/
Gee wiz, dude. lol You truly couldn't figure that out? Should've took you 3 seconds.
Love the Matt he has become such a loving talk
Wow. This is amazing
Wow! Hell yeah, this has me stoked af man. I'm so glad to see Matt's recovery going so damn well. He's such a strong willing mf.
Wow, our boy is back!
OMG - people need to know about that treatment he had in Columbia. That's amazing.
I'm so glad he's doing well
Why no mention of the train incident and his recovery???
This was before it brother
Holy shit! The last time I heard Matt speak he sounded really rough. I can't believe this isn't an old interview.
Guess country boys do survive. Got damn!
This was years ago before the train incident.
i think so notice they don't mention accident @@DXT61
I’m not being a dick, but is this recent? If so, I couldn’t be happier. My man Matt’s progress is inspiring.
A country boy can survive!!!!!!
obviously not
Unfortunately not, it’s pre accident
2017
Wow Matt Hughes speaks so good now! Im happy he’s recovered from his injury for the most part
😢nah...this is before the accident..
So glad to hear that he is recovering and sounds so good. There was an interview a long time ago where he sounded… not well.
This interview was in 2017, pre-accident.
Buck, great interview! Of course, a legendary guest.
Well damn, I guess Matt is back to 100%. He sounds better than he ever did. Congrats on such a fast recovery.
It’s great to see Matt’s recovery from the accident. He looks great and the medical science he has available to him hopefully will be available to more regular people sooner rather than later
This was filmed before his accident.
Grew up w farm kids and wrestlers just in different state. Matt is from same cloth, only better. I understand his work ethic and it’s a great way to raise your sons.
I'm glad to see Matt doing well.
Matt your back .. hell yea crazy seeing superman damaged.
Woah he is getting better ?! Holy crap !
One of my all time favorites 💪🏻
I'm shocked! I thought that he was so badly injured, that he couldn't speak fluently ever!! You are something Matt Hughes 💪
This interview was in 2017, pre-accident.
Great come back bud!
Wow, so glad he looks and sounds great.
Unbelievable but so Awesome Matt
wow, he talk so much better now, amazing recovery
This is before his accident
Matt is amazing. What a story
I seen him aftr the accident, couldn't walk couldn't talk full sentences, this man is a true blessing, great role model, so proud of him
no he isn't go read his autobiography openly abused his wife beat up normal people for no reason guys a piece of shit
My favorite UFC fighter that entrance to the ring with Country can Survive is the best entrance of all time.
So wonderful that Matt is speaking just as good as he did many years ago! It saddened me that he said his dad never said 'i love you' even though he did.
This interview was in 2017, pre-accident.
This guy is tough as nails. Not too long ago he couldn’t walk or talk due to the injuries he sustained from the train accident. My favorite UFC fighter by far. We are the same age and both from Illinois and I’m glad I’ve never came across him at a bar. I used to get in fights but this guy would have tore me apart. I would have liked to see him fight Connor or Khabib.
This interview was back in March of 2017, 3 months before his train accident
My fault. No wonder why he’s doing so well.
Wow he is looking and sounding great! Glade to see. He seems like a great guy
Why does this series always cut the videos out?
One of my favorite fighters of all time.
Amazing! happy for Matt and his next chapter in life you never know when your last breath is gonna be
This interview was in 2017, pre-accident.
@@Quaerite_Verumdang well I hope he continues his road to recovery wishing him the best
@@jaycash8a me too, but in reality, he sounds awful, attacked his now ex wife, and even his twin brother took out a protective order against him. Very sad
Matt is so cool, what a humble dude 🖖.
He sounds like himself again it's fucking amazing
Age old..but wrestling was more dominant in the old days...this is the best interview by the way...😁👍💯🙏
What a great guy!!
One of my favorite fighters to live. Matt was a weapon, I’ll never forget when he slammed and knocked out Carlos Newton when he himself was basically out from the triangle.
So happy to see matt like this
This interview was in 2017, pre-accident.
Wow absolutely amazing, I haven’t seen him much since the accident. He looks ands sounds amazing 🙏🏽😁❤

A straight legend right there.. they don’t make them like that anymore.. 💯
Unstoppable Matt Hughes ❤
