One of the stories I was rooting for. The castle is beautiful and they seemed like good people.

Thank God they are both doing well and accepted change and criticism instead of the usual owners who refuse to adhere to the advice and have their businesses go under

This is one of those odd episodes where everything was there for success but because of poor management and ignorance they wouldn't have ever found success without a push. Honestly the son probably didn't fully understand his mom's struggles simply because she in turn didn't want to upset him but in not communicating what he could do to take on more responsibility she enabled his slacking. Because as soon as he knew what he could and should be doing and what he needed to to to be able to do those responsibilities right he embraced it fully and seemed to do them well to excellently. Gordon didn't really need to do much other than help them get the correct management and help them update to fit standards at the time to get them on the right track because once they got that nudge they got rolling themselves and went above and beyond what Gordon helped them do even well before the episode aired. This situation was one where they did need help, actually accepted even the difficult criticism, and fully embraced that they needed to change and adapt when necessary to succeed in the future.

We went there a few years back and it was awful our room was in rough shape we stayed in one of the cabins. The food was awful an over priced our personal hot tub was disgusting. The cabin was so dated an full of non working appliances like record player TV the usuals

I took my kids there to see Santa one year. It was beautiful on the outside. Couldn't afford to stay. It's pricey. Dang, I had no clue it was like this on the inside. It's almost not worth the price from what it seems.

    "A castle in Ohio..."
Look up Loveland, Ohio. We have two. One is a skating rink and the other is a recreation of a medieval castle. Don't recommend the skating rink (its well known as a drug trafficking place) but the other castle is pretty interesting.

I live about a half hour from this hotel and have never heard of it. I’m glad it’s doing well! Very happy ending. Most restaurants should be so lucky. The owners recognized the opportunity Hotel Hell presented and they took advantage ! Good for them! I could use a part time job. Maybe I’ll apply there. Kind of a long commute tho.

Yeah, landolls treats their staff like garbage. I know a handful of people that have worked there and quit within a year because they get harassed via text, are expected to do all jobs not just their assigned job, and will fire you if you have a better idea than them for public events.
