McConnell had them on the list of "GOPe Approved" justices for SCOTUS and President Trump, still thinking he could trust McConnell, just rubberstamped them. Thomas, Gorsuch and Alito stood ground, "...calling the case 'one of the most important free speech cases to reach this court in years,' and accused government officials of coercing private entities - the social media companies - to suppress speech. The trio of dissenters criticized the majority for sidestepping the free speech issues raised in the case and permitting 'the successful campaign of coercion ... to stand as an attractive model for future officials who want to control what the people say, hear and think.' " Very well said, too bad Kavanaugh and Barrett couldn't see that reasoning. Roberts tends to swing anyway.

That's how it is for every judge. If they don't wanna deal with a case, they just say there is no standing and dismisses the case. It's not exclusive to SCOTUS. It's just more devastating when SCOTUS passes the buck as they're the last line of defense in the Judiciary.

During my career in law enforcement, I always had to remind myself of this: If you make your living by the law, you must also abide by the law.
Of course we wanted SCOTUS to examine the issue and rule on it. However, if they failed to abide by the law, they are no better than the people who abused the law by proxy...

I retired from the State Police years ago, but my experience was that the people who cared the least for the law were attorneys and legislators , who of course are mostly attorneys themselves. Ordinary citizens generally obey the law, police officers likewise, and even habitual criminals seem to more often than otherwise. So I long ago concluded that laws were intended for the orderly and safe conduct of the life of the citizens, but have long since devolved into a tool more like a sort of social cattle prod, to control and distract the citizenry while government enriches and empowers its members.
People actually think this court is conservative, till this day.

I know there are many Patriots who love America and it's status as a Constitutional Republic; however I am concerned about the nation's future and the very prospect of a civil war. There are some in the halls of Congress and at the White House who would like to see the Constitution and Freedom go away and a Marxist State take it's place. I am sincerely concerned.

Any potential Supreme Court nominee should have their voting history made public, so we have better sense of who they really are politically.
We do that and they still put them in what about that judge who allowed as known rapists and killer all of a sudden decide he wanted to be a female and judge allowed him in women's prison but I don't think he's had any sex change

In Oregon, a provider of cakes refused to provide service to a gay couple because they disagreed with their views. The court ruled that because they provided services to "the public", they had to serve anyone who came into the store. But social media customers are essentially doing the same thing - refusing service to people whose views differ. Either private companies can pick and choose their clients, or they must serve everyone. There are valid arguments on both sides, but, ultimately, the rule has to apply equally to all - regardless of whether or not the government is involved.
