He's wrong on the 400 being the only production supercharged outboard. The Seven Marine 557/627 supercharged engines have been in production since at least 2014.

I bought a brand new Mercury from Denver bass pro shop . That was the biggest peace of junk I ever bought I will never buy a Mercury motor ever again !!

Mercury keep boasting about 3 year warranty and buying 2 more. Evinrude has 10 year non depreciating warranty on their E-Tec series. I'm part of a FB group for bass boating and guys are having way too many issues with these Pro XS and Verrado engines. Brand new in the first week many guys having problems...not rookie anglers either guys been boating for 30 yrs and their confidence is getting shaky in your product. I realize these are not the top top top of the line racing motors but they are still a pretty penny to buy. Mercury I think you can better with your new base model products. Your old stuff was great...got a 90hp Tracker 2 stroke on my other boat and that thing is bulletproof.
FYI I'm not bashing here...I think you make amazing engines and I use one everyday but this is just feedback I'm hearing from a 5800 member page of avid anglers and every week I'm seeing posts and Guys saying yeah that happened to me too more and more. Most local dealers are great for service but your corporate service is not anything to brag about from the comments I read.
