bought the album when it came out, speaking of dreams, i was 14, don't know how many thousand times i've heard this song, carrickfergus and speaking of dreams, my three favourite tracks on the album... still move me today... true masterpiece
This is the kind of song that exemplifies her best work and vocal style including the guitar work that supports it all.

I agree with you, she gives her best with these so folky songs and shows how good she was at guitar playing. I love this song so much!

On of her most beautiful folk ballad she sang, so touching, moving and her guitar playing is so perfect, very nice job, nobody can suffer the comparison... She is unique in this folk music since the late 50's! Thanks for posting...
This is NOT an old folk ballad, but one of many incredible songs written by David Massengil, way back in the dying decades of the 20th century... Look him up, including his own version of the song and listen to his virtuosic arrangement on the dulcimer
As I already wrote, she gives her best in this so "folky" song. her guitar playing is so good and her voice shows so much emotion what she hardly did younger. I do love this song! Thank you for posting!
this is a lovely treatment of this lovely song, no question. I just can't help comparing it to the version done by The Roches. I still lean toward the Roche sisters, but each to their own.
I grew up with this Lady and sang her songs with my brother shes imprinted on my own singing voice forever
Ive searched for this song a long time I found it!

The Song Remembers When
What A Voice I Grew Up Singing Her Songs As My Brother Played The Guitar
