I've watched some phone uploads of club shows by Lovebites here on UA-cam. And they really kill, even in a small intimate club setting. So the big production seen here, just adds to what they can already deliver themselves onstage. And just like you, I have got to see these ladies live!! 🙂

Asami and Midori both seem to thrive on live performances. They seem to feed off of the crowd's energy and perform better when the crowd gets into it. This concert came in 2021 and came after they were all secluded due to covid for a long period of time, so the entire band was emotional and thrilled to be back on stage with their fans.

Asami used to rely on reverb for her screams, but she's really put in work. She held this and the final "War!" on Holy War twice as long as in previous live shows.
This is one of the songs where anyone watching the original MV would shake their head and say "Yeah, but no way they can play this live." And then they go and f****ng NAIL it. Every time. They are the Lamborghini of rock bands. No contest.

When you can get a following for studio recordings without touring that is unique. I only know of the Alan Parsons Project that put out most of their music catalog and built a following and never toured for years. Mustly because they had several guitarist and other instruments and multiple vocalist for different songs on each album They could never get everyone free to tour as being studio musicians they all had other obligations.
I am sure the Lovebites members are the same about the customs. The members of Band-Maid talked about this in various interviews. They said that now they can't imagine performing without their customs. They are literally their "combat fatigues" and they get more comfortable and ready to face the fans on the stage after putting them on.

If you carefully watch Miyako at this concert, you will see that she has a tummy. 😊A guitar covers him in front, but when the camera shoots from the side, the tummy is noticeable if you look closely.
The original dates for the ride for vengeance tour was postponed due to the C-19 debacle and government restrictions in Japan but once they were loosened the tour was back on and the ladies were excited to be there in front of a crowd again even bringing them to tears, I honestly think they thrive on the interaction with the fans because they know how we react to them live like the way you react to Midori (for example). I think the whole 'production' does help artists. Band-Maid did an online acoustic concert over Christmas, and they were saying on the commentary track how disconcerting it was to play in that well lit room. They could clearly see all the crew and each other. They didn't know where to look. They were actually feeling a little embarrassed. It was a great concert, by the way.

The Japanese primarily live in small homes/apartments, so their socializing is in neighborhood restaurants/bars. Karaoke is popular! The cities have many small clubs and venues for the bands to play creating a following. There are venue that have the amps and controls so bands just show up with their instruments and play. The Japanese audiences expect bands to play at a professional level, live. Bands form, reform, change members and some hit it, others disappear. Miyako has her own YT channel and the video are available with Eng Subs, just put in Miyako in search. Warning she's a bit of a nerd.
