Bitcoin processes 4.6 transactions per second. Visa does around 1,700 transactions per second on average. It takes about 10 minutes to process a bitcoin payment. This can't be used as a currency yet. The lines at the stores would be huge.
The real heads aren't looking to use this are a currency, instead as a store of value.

I've never wanted a time machine so bad until Bitcoin. This new virtual money is aggregated to the very few who heard about it early and hold way more than the rest, which is not too different from today with the fiat money is aggregated to the top 1%. There's poor people no matter what because there's always so many left out.
It's not about getting bitcoin for the cheapest price. It's about preserving your money in a form where it won't loose value over time. You just want $100 of bitcoin today to be equal to or greater than $100 in the future. With fiat that will never be the case. With bitcoin, it's not guaranteed but much more likely to hold its value because it's the hardest money we've ever had. There will never ever be more than 21 million. You are still so lucky & early. Imagine at $500k or $1M what getting in at $60k is gonna look like to them. They'll want the same time machine. But you don't need it, you already are really fortunate!!!

Bitcoin is to volatile to be a currency. Maybe a store of value in the future. But it’s very hard to say store of value if bitcoin can go down 50% in a day, week or year. However with that being said. Bitcoin is indeed the pioneer for this new technology! To be a global currency you going to need well beyond 21 million coins. Also you gonna need something that is relatively stable and doesn’t fluctuate when people tweet nonsensical things. You gonna need a coin that hedges against inflation and stable one that has a backing of various assets. And this is why Reserve rights is a suitable project. Not only is it a stablecoin but it will also increase in value in the near future once it goes off the dollar peg.

The value of 1 bit coin to USD is easy to calculate but you can't go the other way you can't calculate 4trillon of baseless currentsy into Bitcoin
Banks will create central bank digital currencies (CBDC) and pitch them as cryptocurrency to uninformed people. Banks will be able to program their currency to automatically collect sales, income, and payroll taxes at the point of payment, prohibit purchases of certain items, and socially engineer populations and industries by rewarding or penalizing select purchases or investments. This will also eliminate bank runs as there is no cash to withdraw. Not to mention governments and corporate entities having access to an indelible record of every purchase made or money earned. CBDC is not the same as Bitcoin. Don’t confuse them. They are polar opposites.

more bitcoin can't be created left of the decimal place but how about to the right of the decimal place?
All it will take is an update to the protocol by a human programmer and the Bitcoin block chain can start printing Bitcoin. (True story)

Blockfi will lend u money depending on amount of crypto u have so u don't need to sell ur crypto. Basically ur crypto holdings are like ur credit store. I'm sure there's a bunch of place that offer this. I've never done it cuz I'm not 100% in crypto but I'd def consider doing it down the road. I believe u pay 5% on what u borrow. Again this is probably different depending on where u get the loan from.

But Bitcoin or any other currency or monetary system doesn't mean that I/we will not be exploited. You are just exploited (or seen the other way), you/they are just enriching themselves with a different means.
At least with BTC, you have limited amount of coins which guarantee you rising value.
With FIAT currency, you have goverment which can print as much money as they want. You can work all your life, have million of dollars and if goverment decide to print another trillions, you will lose significant percent due to inflation.
What will happen to poor countries with no digital currency? Will they accept Bitcoin after certain groups of people already invested into it? Sometimes I thank Chinese for banning cryptocurrencies.
If the CCP gov is banning it, it must be good.. 👍
