Should the UK do soft openings for every new coaster? Is this the most unreliable coaster in the uk?

Fun fact they did actually try to call it Icarus but they filed for the rights of the name Icarus and hyperia and due to issues went with hyperia, but I believe Icarus was their first choice.

3.5 hours wait for a couple of mins long ride is insane! You could be halfway across the Atlantic in that time! There is no way I'd wait in line for 3.5 hours for any rollercoaster!

Valid opinions. I watched it all.
When I went on it I can’t deny, my first feelings were;
“That’s it?” - I loved it but at the speed it goes it’s over very quick. Whereas with Stealth when it finished I just think “wow”.
I felt a bit rattled. It was a bit shaky and maybe we were in car or row 4. I can’t deny, if I’m honest, it felt a bit rough.
It’s definitely intense, first drop is amazing. Love the upside down airtime but once I’d finished it and the hype was over I asked myself…
Is it really better than stealth and the smiler?
Stealth has that beautiful launch and is so exhilarating and the smiler… makes me smile every single time. 3 minutes of smiling.
But yes, I really like Hyperia. Just, if I’m true to myself, not sure it’s the best of the best. Not even sure it’s the best at Thorpe Park and I’d struggle with best in the UK when smiler is in town.
Thanks for watching and 100% agreed. The first drop is fantastic and provides a great rush. The remainder is fun but over too quickly and slightly underwhelming.
It's a great addition to thorpe and a good modern coaster for the UK however, it's definitely not the best the UK has to offer (and the downtime and issues haven't done any good for the ride either).
Been looking for a video or comment about the rough ride. We also sat in the middle.
The smiler is my fave in the uk and yes i have been on hyperia. Smiler has it all and it is just so much fun.
Hyperia needs to be longer but it is still the best ride at thorpe park now just ahead of saw in my opinion.

That's the first coaster that I found to be too much. Absolutely incredible ride.
We've not been on Voltron yet however it does look immense.
Next on our European list (in no particular order) is:
Europa Park
Phantasialand
Eftelling
All 3 look great but we're in the process of deciding what's next 😂
Big one has been shit since it opened. Northerners being bitter about London went out in the 90s. Alton Towers and Blackpool need to catch up
Thorpe Park is my favourite park in the UK, however I just love the thrills that I get on The Big One 😂🎢

Haha, to each their own. Personally, Big One is my top coaster in the UK (Axl), but Sean however highly disagrees 😂
It is a fantastic ride for sure, however it is definitely overhyped only because this is the first of its kind to hit British shores, I mean seriously, there is no way it is better than Shambhala or The Smiler, these rides offer full packages with rich theming and a good length, hyperia is good, but i hope it encourages more like it in the UK.
Solid opinions there and 100% agreed. Let's hope it sets a trend for more of these high thrill modern coasters in the UK.
The big one is crap…. How can you be a coaster enthusiast….and seriously think the big one… is good…
I don't care about the manufacturer that builds them, the names of specific inversions, or anything else. I just love the immersion and then I ride the coaster and see how it makes me feel. Big one is the one for me, however the best ride at Thorpe is nemesis Inferno but each to their own and I respect others (questionable) opinions 😂🧐

Well those are some crazzzzy hot takes 😅 the way he said ‘better than saw’ as if they’re on the same level. Saw is the second worst coaster in the park imo and in a lot of people’s opinions. Worse than the big one is even worse tbh. Imo it’s easily the best in the Uk, also top 5 in Europe. I think you guys are in the minority!

I can accept that people might prefer Stealth to Hyperia. The Big One s 1st drop shakes your head off. After that it's a monorail around the Pleasure Beach.
