I do agree with you that I wouldn't interfere with nature in order to prevent a Red Tailed Hawk attack. Also, you did a great job caring for those babies for a short time! At the end, one of the parents was dive-bombing at you because that's their way of saying, "We'll take care of our young ourselves! We can catch our own worms!" Just wait and see what happens when that hawk comes onto your roof! First, it'll be on the roof, then it'll swoop down and snatch one of those baby robins. Its nature's way after all! A hawk can figure out how to get inside that box!
Till the trash man shows up and recycles your whole project. The hawk has babies that are starving. The robins don't learn a harsh lesson for next year.
Trash isn't for 4 more days. Don't insult my intelligence by acting like I am going to forget about this entire thing the neighbors and I have been monitoring closely. Parents are back to feeding young. These two wouldn't have been hawk baby food, as I already addressed, they were about to be wet, rotting corpses in an alley.
