the controversy is why does purdue need a 38 free throw shooting advantage to beat northwestern at home(46 to 8 should not happen at any level of basketball above elementary school) and is a complete embarrassment for not only purdue but the entire conference and it will be one of the reasons only a couple of teams will be left after the first weekend of the tourney and no final four teams, once again-let alone a champion(TOO MUCH HOME COOKING IN THE BIG TEN)

That's why we love pass first point guards. It's a pleasure to watch Sheppard with Kentucky and Smith just manipulate defenses despite their lack of athletic gifts.
People talking about the foul discrepancy being the deciding factor and not realizing that Purdue also hit over 57% of field goals and over 47% from 3. If anything, out abismal FT shooting effectively canceled out whatever additional points that couldve gotten us vs if NW, ya know, just didn't foul like crazy
But it was the deciding factor lol. 46 attempts to 8?! Purdue shot lights out and still almost lost is what you just said lol.
@@thegreekfreak3471 What I'm saying is that people are trying to act like Purdue didn't actually make their shots from the field when in all reality they shot slightly better from the field and nearly as well from 3. They ended up getting those points from the line because NW fouled like crazy, but they would've still scored AT LEAST as many points if NW didn't foul like crazy to try and get another hack win.
The biggest takeaway is that if you're Chris Collins and your strategy is to hack and gamble instead of playing straight up, you don't get to cry because you didn't get away with it again and you STILL got beat by a team that played you straight up and clean.

@@thegreekfreak3471 Good m8, we're first in KP offense and second overall in KP with the toughest schedule according to KP and currently ranked 2nd nationally behind a team that is behind us in all statistical categories. We are quite literally not overated 😂
@@thegreekfreak3471 Additionally, out of all 351 D1 schools in the country, we are 16th for least fouls per game while NW is current 271st so you tell me what that says about why the foul discrepancy was what it was lmao

big 10 is embarrassing and why they are so non-competitive when it comes to the ncaa tourney, home teams get such an advantage but 46 free throws to 8 is just awful, 46 to 8, now if purdue were the underdog maybe it would look a little better but their the top team in the conference, no wonder when their best player shoots 9 more free throws then the entire other team
NW public relations shared post-game that Coach Chris Collins apparently had a bad reaction to his pregame meal of Linguine which set him off at the end of the game. Penne for your thoughts Collins. Boiler up.
Replays showed Green standing in full view of the offensive foul and ignored it! He should be done; can't trust him.

I think he was upset that Purdue shot 46 free throws and his team shot 8. Also that 3 of his players had fouled out and the most a Purdue player had was 3. Just a guess tho.

conveniently skipped the play where Coach Collins was triggered. Should have been an arm hook on Purdue for the offensive foul, instead, the inexplicable call on Northwestern for the foul. But then again, look at the foul call disparity and you'll soon see that it was home cookin' in Jest Lafayette , go boilers

Their game plan was literally to foul as much as possible. On the flip side You don't get foul calls when you are chucking up 3s and talking step back 2s. Learn basketball.

convenitenly skipped over the play that triggered Coach Collins. It was clearly an offensive foul on Purdue for the arm hook in the corner of the court over by the Northwestern bench with the referee standing right in front of the play. Good Ole home cookin but I root for purdue
