- This dance comes from the island of Mindanao. It depicts a famous legend where a princess, who was in the forest, encounters the earth rumbling and the bamboo trees falling around her. The dance shows how the princess weaves skillfully around the fallen bamboo. A prince from a neighboring village arrives and falls in love with her. After pursuing and eventually winning her love, the two dance together in celebration.
