Well this has become the most popular video on my channel, I have plenty of other EAA videos and also some from Milwaukee's Air Show too if anyone is interested, playlists linked in the description :)
❤❤❤
I had this guy as a student that’s why I drink now.
Makes everyone who stalled their plane into the ground look like total fools.
That is some amazing trust in one's ability and airplane.
I thought this video was about a pony tail.
I remember once watching something where a pilot had done a similar stunt. I believe he said it took every bit of his abilities to look like the worst pilot of all time while in perfect control.
Nice to see that Kyle Franklin is still putting on that show!
Just remember, this IS WISCONSIN we're talking about...🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah lacrosse has meth in the water I think
Kyle Franklin awesome pilot
He knows this airplane!!! Love it!!!
I'm not a pilot but that is really impressive flying. Such control.
I love this skit! Seen it before and still love it 😊
Funny how that guy has been at every big airshow I've been to, stealing a different plane, for 45 years. 🤣
sometimes, he's at two or more different airshows clean across the country on the same day ! !
I did that at Houston Hobby Airport as a 12 hr total time student on a crosswind take-off, longest 30 min solo in my life
I took a VOR heading to return to Laport Airport and after 10 min looked down, I was directly over Ellington AFB, luckily I didn't get fighter intercept

@@KhreamedKhorne in the mid 70s, student pilots were on "survival of fittest" FAA monitoring, so I got a few more Near Death hanger stories to complete my training
The legend! One of the most amazing Cub pilots on the world!
He's really good ! Highly skilled choreography !
Excellent airmanship as always
That was part of the show?😲I have never seen anything like that before😳
It’s ok 👍🏻 part of the airshow, most people realize that flying drunk usually doesn’t work out so well, for the airplane.😊
It was entertaining as hell. I had to hold my laughter while my wife sat there freaking out thinking it was real😂(we were right near the boeing ramp right where it started)
This guy makes all the fools that stalled their plane into the ground and became the list of shame Dan Gryders list, look even worse.
if gryder is not ashamed I don't see why anybody would be.
Burnet TX remembers this man😊
Rare footage of Trigger learning how to do PSMs

Don't let this guy talk his second wife into wing walking.
Plot twist : He's actually really intoxicated 😆
LOL good one, I saw that skit many years ago at the Sussex New Jersey air show. The Ruskies were there too with their amazing huge biplane that seemed to just float in the air.
I saw this skit a couple years ago. Was rather entertaining
We have a crop duster guy around me who does stuff like this.
Those guys are awesome....I've seen them in Monroe n.c.
This is how my check ride felt for sport pilot.
Pink Floyd's "Learning to Fly"
There was a gentleman here in Alabama several years ago that would do basically the same act with a J3 Cub. Unfortunately I watched him kill himself in a tragic accident performing the act at Shelby County Airport.
Pretty sure that's the alcoholic cropduster guy from 'Independence Day' (Randy Quaid)
But seriously, it takes SERIOUS skill to fly that sloppy.
One of my friends flies with tora tora tora, he said the pilot got tackled one year by an un briefed individual. Flying the plane fake drunk is less dangerous than stealing it fake drunk.
Pretty impressive flying really
I am absolutely terrified of flying. Flown a few times in my life but I sweated it out. The world is beautiful from up there. But this amazing flying was just awesome with butterflies flapping away in my stomach but will say with respect. YOU HAVE TO BE CRAZY!!!! 😂🎉
I wonder what he has on the wingtips to protect from excess damage when he drags them on the ground.
Ducktape
Don't let him talk his second wife into wing walking.
This is a great act for kids or first timers but it really needs some creative & powerful narration.
Dang it Dad! I'm on my first date with this girl and this is what you do.
He needs to check his toe in before he wrecks that thing.
His toes are always in when he takes off so it's all good.
Awesome pilot-skills! And of course he choosed a great plane for his stunt. After the show they could repair the wingtips...😄
For sale, mid time engine, no damage history.
EAA AirVenture- Where pilots go to die.
LOL we were supposed to go this year but a last minute emergency prevented us. I asked my wife to watch this clip saying "this is what we would've seen had we been able to go". Wife almost started to cry, saying "Effing drunk asshole, don't crash that plane! I hate drunks, he's going to kill himself and destroy that beautiful airplane..." LOL I had to break the truth to her after about a minute... Got her good! Thanks for great flying and a great airshow! Hope to be there next year!
Haha that's hilarious
To be honest he had me going there for a minute or two.
Ahaha this is hilarious. Pretty cool bit, never seen anything like it at an air show.
Edit: this is the kind of thing that goes viral after a few months
@@crusty_magog Yeah lol but this is actually a performance that has been done quite a few times before so it probably won't, who knows
Yup been happening since I was a kid! Lol
@@RookFoxsemi-called it :)
@@crusty_magog Looks like it haha
I'm genuinely curious and in an inner debate with myself: What were you referring to when you edited your comment to say that "this" is gonna blow in a few months? The video or your post?
Wow! Crazy skilled pilot!
That was clever 😂
Interesting performance.
Noting a bit of wingtip in the dirt occasionally, what do they do to the aircraft beforehand to ensure the wingtips aren't damaged by abrasion, etc?
ua-cam.com/video/URXaM5MyJUI/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared at 4:08 explains a bit
Awesome……👍

I've seen that before but still cool! Takes proper skill to fly that badly 🙂
Nice clickbait
This is quite literally what the performance is called/described as lol

Great pilot. The commentator is quite bad though
You tricked me. Shame on you.
This is a legit question, is this guy a copy of Erik Edgren, or is Erik a copy of this guy? I had Erik perform at an airshow at my airport a few years ago and thought he was the OG of this performance.
I have no idea, maybe someone else can answer
What is on the wing tips ?
Duct tape apparently
ua-cam.com/video/wWQyPV3IwVs/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared at 4:08
@@RookFox Very cool. Galvanized steel , duct tape and little bags of flower for effect. Thanks Cat
This shtick never gets old.
Enough of this scam already! It got old 50 years ago when he was flying an original J-3 Cub. How many times can people fall for ths?
@@MrSuzuki1187 Have you ever thought for a second that new generations of people go to EAA Air Venture every year? This song isn’t about you, you aren’t that important. Let others enjoy it like the first time you saw it and enjoyed it years back. Selfish!
That's what I'm thinking, all these people are complaining because it's been done before or because it's always the same, which you can literally say the same about maaaany air show performances. I don't get it, if they are bored of it, no one is making them come watch it again, and it's not like a 10 minute act will ruin the entire experience for them just because they have to see it once a year.
This act is OLD I made 48 consective EAA Conventions/Airventure till 2020 COVID so I've seen it all. EAA Convention was grate but te EAA with Airventure has gotten GREEDY so f'em.
stupid idea u dont think others would try u wait u all think its so funny
ahh, the drunk guy skit kinda like "3 (ethnics your choice) walk into bar" jokes. not so much anymore if any. i'm sure viewers who have lost family and friends in car wrecks to intox drivers not laughin'
This type of "aerial show" is irresponsible and should never be allowed to occur. It make light of the seriousness required to be an aircraft pilot.
I'm sure one silly show that actually shows a crazy amount of skill won't hurt when there are dozens of other shows that are taken much more seriously.
They have 500' lateral distance from the front of the crowd. 1,000' to the back. There are no items or vehicles to hit out there. This pilot, Kyle Franklin is one of the most skilled airshow performers of all time. He was a wing-walker at first. And speaking of seriousness: His father was a performer who died in a crash, colliding with his airshow partner. His wife also passed away in a crash that involved them both. He needs no lectures on seriousness.
That is a very silly comment. It’s a jocular skit as background to showcase this pilot’s amazing skill. No actual pilot makes light of safety. He’s a skilled performer.
@@markp1506 I wonder what the NTSB investigation will show if he ever augers his airplane into the ground. I don't care how "experienced" or "skilled" the pilot is, he is lining up the holes in the swiss cheese and is only one small mistake away from catastrophe.
It is not a silly comment. This type of flying exhibition demonstrates extremely bad flying habits that may especially influence younger pilots. Every year, we see even "experienced (+1500 hrs) pilots make devastating decisions by ignoring standard procedures.
My god you do not appreciate the skill
This routine has been around for years. It's still a bad idea, unsafe and not funny.
Not 🔥☠️🔥 Funny
