Absolutely. He played off himself to a tee. Sidney was my favorite character. I realize it is a huge book, but, I wish so bad that they could have kept his conversation with Lucie intact. His declaration to her of his love and how he felt and that he would protect those she loved....balled reading that. Chris Sarandon has the voice and expression to convey it perfectly. Always wish that, also, for Lucie's speech to her father as she comforts him upon finding him alive. "Weep for it, weep for it..." so touching. Elizabeth Barringer was like a China doll and with a sweet personality. She would have done so and torn your heart out. Love this movie and the book even more. Billie Whitelaw as Therese DeFarge?😚 Perfection.
its sad when the very qualities the oppressed suffer under and despise in their enemies are then picked up by the very ones who should know better and strive never to repeat it.
The part he plays as Sidney Carton, walking through the Place de'la Greve, his expressions spoke volumes. A beautiful man.
