I really really love this song, it has so much depth lyrically and celine's version just took it to the heavens. Very beautiful. But such a great job to jordan for this creation. Really.
He didn’t write it for her, he wrote it for himself and then didn’t like it so he trashed it and then someone else picked it up from him... same thing happened with the song “bleeding love” Jesse McCartney wrote the lyrics and got help from Ryan Tedder with the arrangement but Hollywood records (the label he was with at the time) didn’t like it so Jesse shelved it for another album and just so happened lionna Lewis went on to win that season of the factor I believe it was in Great Britain and Tedder went to Jesse and basically said “this song is to good to sit and Simon wants it” so Jesse gave the go ahead and they gave it to Simon for Lewis and the rest is history
How many songs do you think Celine dion has written? I bet your three favorites of hers, only have her credited as singing. Writers of songs, are smart…they sell them to singers and get paid, for not singing them.
I feel Dions version left me in awe of her amazing vocal ability and power, but this version....man. it makes me really think about the songs meaning and look inside myself, and I feel like that's what the song was meant to do. So, I think I prefer this one
I don't know why people keep comparing both versions..i don't even call this a version even though it was recorded by who wrote the song.. This is a DEMO. and it's clearly not produced and mixed to be released officially as Celine's version. which is a final recording. on this demo you can basically tear apart the track because it's too simple as a demo should be.
Mrkø G not being produced as a final recording doesn’t make it not a version of the song. It may not be a finished version, but it is still beautiful music and a version of the song, albeit a demo. This version was also used in the movie, so although it was a demo it is intentionally used to juxtapose it to Celine’s. They’re meant to be compared - not to say one is better than the other, but to be seen as different and fitting a different purpose in their usage.
I bawl my eyes out every single time this version hits my ears. I am traumatized from the loss of the love of my life, and the last movie we saw together was Deadpool one, and their relationship and playfulness described our relationship to a tee. And when Deadpool 2 came out it took all of my might to go see it, and when the intro came with Celines version, I felt it so hard, but oh man...when Wade goes into dreamland and meets her, and this version starts playing I cried so loudly it affected others in the theater....the hurt I feel and bottomless loneliness will forever be a part of me, and this song soothes my soul and gives me the space to let it out and lyrics tells all I need to get said each time. It really doesnt matter how much I try to build after she left...it has no purpose, no foundation, nothing...and to all others that feel this bottomless sorrow in your lives....we are many...and we are alone. But know that others go through it as well...and find solace in the fact that this happens to individuals, deserving and undeserving. Do your best to keep moving forward to the best of your abilities...much love..
I fell in love with Celines version. Her voice is amazing and powerful, it hits you hard and doesnt let go. Then I find this. And it's like smoke that curls around you slowly and before you know it you cant breath. It does hold onto you like Celines, it follows you and infiltrates your core until it overpowers you emotionally. So yeah, thanks for making a 37 year old man cry at work.
it’s amazing to hear this version after hearing the Celine version. So pure and honest, although i love the power added by Celine Dion. It’s just a great song, hearing more versions only makes me love it more.
The thing about his and her take on this. His: His version is haunting, its beautiful, modest and relies purely on its lyrics and melody, it doesn't rely on a bombastic vocal and the song still tugs at the strings in your heart and it soothes your soul. It reminds you that you have a soul at all and its nourishing. This one pleads and holds out hope Hers: Its bombastic, it burns itself into your brain making it very difficult to forget, it relies most on a powerful vocal and is not restrained for the most part. it uplifts you, makes you feel powerful and makes you feel like you actually have control over your emotions and how you will handle things. This one demands\ In the end both takes are so impressively interesting in such different ways
Agreed. Though this is actually the original song. The song was originally a prayer which is why it's fitting that it was written and recorded this way.
So it's my understanding from the interview with Ryan Reynolds that the DP2 producers brought the rights to this song and said "you know what would be crazy? If we could get Celine Dion to sing this." The rest is history.
I honestly believe that beauty can come out of ashes. I'm 39 now and my only child died in my arms when she was 5 weeks old. Winter (my daughter) would be 7 years old now had she not died and she would be so beautiful, my life would be so beautiful but that's not my life. Losing her changed me so much and brought so much pain but it also made me a better man. I'm a kinder and more caring man than I was and I know I've helped people I may never have even noticed before my life crumbled to ashes. Someone right now is happy all because of the ashes left behind when my daughter died and that in its own way is beautiful.
I love them both really. Celine's rendition is like a powerful feeling of joy and strength while Jordan's rendition is soft; invoking feelings of love, vulnerability and tenderness.
I was wondering about that! When i saw it in theatres, they played an acoustic version of "Take on Me" during that scene but then when i watched DP2 again at home it was replaced with this. Come to think of it, there were other songs changed from the theatrical version like during the juggernaut song. Anyone know why?

What a beautiful voice. He is so talented, his ability to write beautiful lyrics like these and sing them perfectly is a gift. I love his version as much as I love Celine's. Both are talented vocalists.

Jordan sings it with heart, calm and a touch of sadness, Celine sings it with an experienced lifetime of performance and hers feels more as a anthem of power and defiance, you cannot compare them as they are a completely different take of the song, I don't know why people are trying to, I enjoy the soft calm feeling of this version more TBH but that doesn't mean I feel it is better just more suiting to my taste at this time of the night. just close your eyes and try enjoy the music for what it is not what you feel it should be or what it's lacking.

I love how dynamic her version is but I absolutely adore how personal Jordan's version is.
Just. Amazing. Thank you :’) hearings it from your voice makes me see the message behind the song
Those writing skills tho😮
Army?
Damh Celine blown away this song with her powerful voice! She is incredible.
Michael Velez that’s not Celine Dione it’s the guy that wrote the song for her to perform, it’s his demo for her
Sean Kruk I know this a demo from Jordan...
If he really wanted to he could turn it up to an 11 though lol
@@ernestoc153 he really can. He is a vocal beast
Wow I got goosebumps from this version, I love this equally to Celine's version
