- The Argon are on the verge of complete destruction and collapse. After loosing a two fronted war with the Xenon and the Paranid, I must decide if I should get involved. And if I do... how will I save the Argon?
This video is a bit dramatic. But I enjoyed making it none the less. Let me know if you like the tone, or if I should change it to more humorous.

This really is the perfect content to watch while playing X4, add more depth to the game and just makes it more immersive for the player.
If you pay attention and watch, though, you'll realize this is how the game plays, aside from that ram job... That worked way better in earlier X games.
But more impressive is how he went ahead and rolled with all that.
I love how inconsistent the A.I. of this game is. Sometimes it struggles to pass through a gate sometimes it makes battle winning plays like the Leonidas one.
This was really well made and I'd love to see more like it if you ever felt inclined.
You deserve so many more subscribers, sir! Well, you have my subscription now anyway.

Damn, that was intense. The Leonidas Maneuver was something on another level, I wonder if it was an intended behavior or a bug in AI that played out as a feature :) Dramatic is nice, funny is nice too, but in the end - it's your choice. You are the creator. Liked and subbed, keep it up!
I wonder if it was a bug or intended as well. Either way it saved my fleet/ station. So I’ll salute the AI for doing whatever the crud it was doing.

i had a similiar situation
facing 1 I and a few K's in my rattlesnake the xenon took out its engine and i was death in the water.
the I was almost dead but i was in a shity angle until out of the blue my raptor who was in the sector charge the AI guns blazing blewing it up.
and it looked amazing how the raptor was stil slowing down from its travel drive while all the damn batteries opened fire upon it.

While such a scenario was a common encounter in my play time, the narrative in this video makes it more interesting... 👏👏

I've been looking for a some nice cinematic type content for x4, you did a great job. I'm at the end of the road squishing K's like they are bugs it's nice to remember the pain of the first engagements

I just stumbled over your channel. After watching some of your vids, found this one. WOW. This is very well told and you made a story out of it that was worth listening and watching. Well done.
I have been in this situation on my 2 playthroughs as well and it turned out that the abandoned oddy does wonders in the gate patrol at HAT I , esp. when combined with an M-class sector-looter 😉
After picking up the free Syn, it was basically a no go area for xenons after that.
But ridding Hatikvah I from the permanent xenon influx is the best and most intense and fun part of the early game

I'm glad I found this channel, I recently got the X4 2022 Bundle and the Star Wars mod for it because.... well, reasons (not that I won't play vanilla of course for the lore there). I really want to make cinematics in this game (but also the flying and such is amazing). I appreciate these videos and am watching them. Thanks for the entertainment. :)

More Split Ships, less Argon Scrap = Profit
You are honestly not the first person to tell me this. Looks like I need to get me a Split fleet.
Yes indeed Odi Vanguard will do a much better job and Nemesis on the fleet, Argon is very weak in many ways in this game
Split ships are just so sexy. They look awesome and wreck. I’m going to need to make an investment in some.
This was so well done. The fact that the Argon were on the verge of collapse and the fight to save an entire race from annihilation. The captain and the crew of the Leonidas will be remembered.
Loved it! I once criticized your pronunciation of a word, I said then that you were a good story teller, but I want to reiterate that your stories are riveting. I can't imagine what goes into to these videos with the production values you have. Well done.

Very cool, and encouraging, I'm very new to the game; but keeping the hapless Argon alive has been a constant challenge in each of my three starts so far, It's utterly frustrating. Nice to see someone succeed.
Today is when I saw your video what day it is haha I was going to pass it up because I'm not playing X4 foundations I'm playing X4 foundations with the Star Wars mod but something was telling me to look at it and hear I staying I added you to my favorite show I like to see more of this and star wars mod too.

I really struggled and wondered why the economy just won’t work at all.
Started a new game, went to trinity sanctum instead of argon and built defence platforms at heikvahs choice asap. PAR space had a working economy and everything was just much better working. So if you think your save is kinda messed up, don’t hesitate to start a new game. When the sectors aren’t over flooded by xenon you will progress so much faster that there is no real time loss in the end.
And maybe don’t settle in argon. Hetikvahs tends to be a xenon conflict zone disrupting the circle highway, forbitting your trade wares to be sold to multiple sectors. Trinity sanctum 3 allows you to sell profit Center Alpha… Paranid space and if you manage it to get some standing with holy order you can trade yourself filthy rich by using M-traders and deliver through the highway circle
The economy is holding so far in my save. But it is sluggish and the updates have messed with it some. I wouldn’t mind starting over, I just know it would suck for the series.
I know I'm late, but yet. I discovered your channel just due to that Xenon invasions and looking out for "tips" and stories. And damn you are a great story teller. Loved it.

No problem! I’m still learning myself. This game has sooo much to learn and understand.
That sector on the otherside of that gate is no joke. I sent a lone fighter in there and did a manual scout with it, even in the beginning of the game they are set up there, and growing. I found 6 stations in there with him before I tried to get him to retreat but he died inside of the space right before reaching the gate.. but he did tell me valuable information before he wet down, includiing to show me ther there was no warf or ship yards there. The issue I currently have with that space is the fleet of I think 5-7 ships, waiting at the gate and patrollng it..
It is crazy. And they just uncontrollably grow if left untouched. You scout ship died with honor.

I would love that. I am currently trying to get on better terms with the Split Free Families. I'm almost to a reputation that will allow for me to get there war ships. Then you better believe I'm going to purge some Xenon with those Split Ships.

My pockets hurt just thinking about it. But that would be an epic sight to see.
The Leonidas was aptly named.
The answer is simple and much more cost effective. From early on you destroy every K you see with just a Nemesis corvette. You can also do I's but the turrets on those are much more difficult. Don't let the Xenon build up. You also earn a good amount of credits and rep when you destroy K's near stations. You can take out the engines first if you want to freeze the K but this is not necessary. Take out it's large turrets (6), some of the smaller ones, and then the XL shield generators on the underside - I use the split thermal weapon that goes thru shielding to destroy them. Then it will die. Have a few nemesis parked in stations where xenon appear and teleport to them when needed. Ianamus Zura is a must and profitable - you will get Teladi asking to build defense stations.
Do you know how long it takes to destroy all the hard points? I mean you get it down to a pattern hiding in the blind spots and using the ships momentum to move yourself but it is so time consuming. I would rather smash them with a picket of cruisers.
@@justinfrazier9555 I was referring to early game before you can even afford capital ships. That's when K's apppear in 1's and 2's rather than as a fleet. It does take a while, especially the XL sheild generator. Taking K's out this early in the game will slow the Xenon expansion considerably, and even save those trading bases that you can sell nvidium too. When I had only 1 or 2 capital ships then I would just take out the 6 graviton guns on the K and then send in the ships to finish off the K. Anywhere on top of the K is a blind spot.
The Argon deserved everything they got after betraying holy Terra and allying themselves with filthy Xeno against their own kind.
What horrors that betrayal wrought upon them... What divine fury they unleashed, cursing themselves and their children

Older video, but I wanted to comment that the "tone" of this video was perfect for me. I don't quite like the overly silly stuff in the other videos.
Ha, great fight! Recently I had basically the same scenario at that gate. A killbox of laserturrets helps a lot against the smaller ships and doesnt cost as much as fighters.
That was such a good vieo. I love your story's in the X-Universe. Particular the communication from your Behemoth Leonidas was greate.

If you don't know how to do any other mission; the criminal traffic missions are an aquifer on a hot day.

Lol I tried to do the same thing. I ended up with a station on both gates out of that xenon sector because they were hammering the split too. The one in argon space was kinda small because I had two on each side of the gate. One was a refit factory station. The one in split space was massive. I called it door stop lol. It had factories and was a giant wall of defense platforms right in front of the gate. I had so many platforms that it could insta pop a K and an I would take 10 seconds. The xenon then tried to flank around with four Ks and a I from the teladi sectors and started to come thru the other gate which I had up over 200 laser towers as a last ditch defense plus my fleet. I ended up pushing them back but had massive losses. That xenon sector that goes to yaki space is a monster
I am not having much luck fighting through the xenon to the Yaki. It seems like it can be done which gives me hope. But man, no kidding, it is rough.

something i do, that makes fleet combat easier, and safer, is i quickly fly around and drop a bunch of advanced satellites. i have them everywhere. like literally every station in every discovered system, has an adv sat covering them, and every gate.
this way i have loads of intel on what is going on in the universe, and i never have to worry about being blind sided by anything
situations like these are why every ship of mine carries laser towers. if nothing else, drop as you retreat.

Xenon are pretty easy to stem. I just put about 50 laser towers at the gate and used it as a resource farm

in my save as soon as the game began, the HOP had loads of ships in second contact. there was nothing i could do about it, and they clearly outnumbered the argon, somehow without any intervention, the argon won, pushed HOP out, and HOP havent tried anything since.
on top of that, the argon are also keeping the xenon in check in hatikvah's choice 1 they have a shitload of destroyers just camping the gate into the system. and they havent failed yet.
Zyarth on the other hand, i discovered them at around 18 hours, and they were completely overwhelmed with xenon.
so i ran some missions as quick as i could, bought a dragon, and started engaging Ms and Ps.
eventually by day 2 i had a rattlesnake, and began the pushback in earnest.
by day 3 ive got 3 rattlesnakes, and im slowly draining the xenon, and pushing them out of split space.
unfortunately due to all these shennanigans, i havent even seen about half of the universe so i have no idea what is going on the the south. because the xenon wont give me a break up here in split space

I figured a way to kill a K and I solo in a Nemesis, but it takes a long time, and by the time I delete an I, another ones already coming into the sector... more then 1 is impossible.

how far "ai" in computer games have gone (: a destroyer baiting a fleet diverson and when he sees he does not succeed he turns back and joins the fight again. nice (:
I’m far from an expert at this, but you would do better if you exploited the differences the way the game handles in and out of system battles. E.g. fighters vs a K in out-of-system stand no chance at all, but cause it a lot of trouble if you fight the same battle in-system. In-system fights using fighters loaded with torpedoes and missiles can be surprisingly effective. Also don’t be shy about spamming defence towers in the midst of big battles. Defence stations are definitely the way to go when trying to stop the flow of Xenon into a system, but make sure to also place a fleet there or multiple defence towers. The stations wont always engage the Xenon and they sometimes just fly right past. Once in combat though the stations with usually join in, even if not targeted. Don’t forget to give the stations drones.
My only issue with this, and I agree with you completely, is out of system battles make for lousy video content. Hahah. It has crossed my mind a few times.
@@guildofnoobs I get what you are saying, but. At the point in this video where you realised you just sent your fighters out of system right into the middle of a Xenon fleet near a K. Im surprised they didnt just die instantly by the way. After ordering them to run, you could teleport to one of them so the escape was in-system and they would have a much better chance to survive. You have to change the default orders though so they dont ignore your move order and fight back if they get hit. I find that Xenon fleets dont follow me back through gates, even when I want them fall into my trap setup on the other side. Although this may be changes to the AI since this recording was made. I had a similar situation to you, when I realised there was a K right ontop of the Argon warf and had almost destroyed it. Out of system it died very quickly. I reloaded and went into the system. The Argon station lasted long enough for me to get a fighter there and manually take out the Ks weapons. I then had the time to get a destroyer over and finish it off. So what Im actually suggesting is that you do more in-system as that helps more often that not against Xenon :)
Just by going in-system when you see a K in Argon space will probably help them out a lot with dealing with it.
