Dudes, this one is a fucking masterclass groove. Absolute rock wisdom.
I remember this song and seeing them live back in the day. Very good musicians. This song gets my energy up straight away. Great to hear it again. I need to dive back into their catalogue.
Man, this takes me back! I remember watching this performance, great band!!!
Thanks for this 👍🏻
Saw them live a few years ago in Scotland. Amazing night!!
So cool!
TFI Friday was the name of the TV show. Big in the 90s and this was a live studio audience.
Such a good live band, especially around this era. You should definitely try The Day We Caught The Train, and if you fancy a b-side, try Robin Hood.
…absolutely brilliant band…!!!
I'm feeling some late 60s vibe from this group, and in a very good way. Great mix of R&B/funk/rock in what feels to me a unique way. Thanks for a great Saturday morning wake-up song.
Yep this was tfi (thank f#£% it's) friday, like a late night 90s show that had interviews, guests, comedy and music, the usual late night talk show type stuff. It wasnt a concert. This band also did like the main theme tune to the show, probably why they let them take some liberties with their performance.
I saw them live around this time at Shepton Mallet show ground (a sort of big cattle shed) near Bath, we got the bus to the gig wearing parkas and the same hat as Steve Craddock (guitarist) wears, then had to walk from the last stop to the venue, we had a few joints and beers and then got picked up by a passing car on the way to the gig! Lots of joints being smoked at the gig!
I also met Steve Craddock before a gig in Bristol about 6 years back, in an Italian restaurant near the venue, he was having a meal with family and came over and had a chat, nice guy!
Great story! Thanks for sharing!
Yes !!! I was 15, the first gig I ever went to. I couldn’t believe they came to my town.
This takes me back! I remember watching this when it aired.
TFI always had great bands on.
Brilliant 👏
OCS pre-date Britpop as a proper low key indie band ... should note TFI Friday adopted "Riverboat Song" as their theme/signature tune
That's from a show called "TFI (Thank F##K it's) Friday" that used to air in the 90's. And "joint" in this context means "together with".
Saw them live in 96 along with Kula Shaker in Newcastle. Shamefully underrated due to Oasis mania.
Classic performance on a classic show
…great reaction… one of my favourite bands…
I have grown to love this band. So underrated! - Greg
N you may wonder why the lead guitarist is the keystone of Weller's "band" to this day ... lad has serious "chops"
Your grin at 5:35-ish.
That's when I realised you'd "got" the song.
Talking of Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels - it has a fantastic soundtrack. A few of the songs you’ve featured already.
Love this song 🤗👍
Shaun Ryder from The Happy Mondays pretty much got this show taken off air if i remember right lol
He was doing a cover of Pretty Vacant and after promising the host he would not swear, he proceeded to just shout every swear word he knew for the first minute of the performance (at 6pm on a live show) :)
I saw OCS supporting Oasis and thought OCS were the better band.
Thanks for the input! Interesting as always. BTW, hadn't seen a comment from you for a while - thought we lost you as a viewer. So, very glad to see this! - Greg
@@intothemusic908 always watching lads, just not commented in a while, been on my holidays :)
They were..and far better musician's.
Absolutely the same. Only went to maine Rd cause the then girlfriend was into oasis but these guys were the stand out to me
As an being mod , this to me is one of the most complete tunes
U guys need to do Pulp Common People-Live at Glastonbury....iconic.....The Stone Roses were supposed to headline ,which is why I was there , Squire hurt his wrist just before the gig so Pulp were called up to the main stage .....anyway this is historic
I’d say Pulp Common People from Reading 2011 I think is best ua-cam.com/video/-XlCFJA3yL4/v-deo.html
I absolutely love your reactions. Best iv seen online and iv found myself down a few rabbit holes watching people react for hours 😆. Could you please react to anything by an Icelandic band called Sigur Ros
SKILL N FIE as it states on the amp ... end of lol
Check out Day We Caught The Train and Profit In Peace, both awesome, they also did a live Beatles cover of Daytripper with Oasis that is defo worth a listen
Great band shame Weller nicked the guitarist
