You should do an update on all of these organizational videos after like a month or so, so we can see if the organization was helpful, or if it didn’t make any sense, if you found yourself using them all the time or just going back to the unorganized mess it used to be (I’m guilty of this!)
I look at this and think about what's under my own bathroom sink and I'm guilty too. I don't use hardly A THING ...honestly... I think we just FEEL like we have to have a bunch of products and stuff. it's no good after a while anyway.
Thankfully Lord willing I am moving and I ONLY WANT TO TAKE WHAT I WILL ACTUALLY ONLY USE AND TRULY WANT/NEED.
Totally. I decided to go back after a year when I first decluttered, an got rid of even more stuff because I never used it.
strange thought but i never thought of putting extra hair care tools in the guest bathroom, for them to either use or just so they are out of my bathroom.. You're a genius!
Samantha Marie I have a basket under the sink (on some shelves I put in) that is just travel size everything, male and female, for anyone who visits and may have forgotten an item or just suddenly say, omg I need _______....
TL;DR: great job for donating! I’ve been meaning to mention this for a while, but I am so glad that you always mention donating excess products to your local woman’s shelter! I’m sure that makeup and skin care are one of the less often things supplied- so it’s wonderful that, even in a period of their lives where women can feel so vulnerable and have minimal funds to spend on themselves, that they can enjoy having access to products that can make them feel like change is possible (or at least that’s how I feel about makeup). Thanks for doing such a service to your community, even if it seems small.

There's a lot of wasted space in your cabinets. You could make a lot more storage space if you got shelving. You can even get pull out shelves for under your sink. Good for you for decluttering and downsizing so much!
I agree. You can find a shelving unit that is designed to fit in a cabinet that has exposed pipes like this. I used to have one under my kitchen sink and it was wonderful.

I put a shelf in under my kitchen sink and I now have so much space under there, it's totally easy to do!!
I love these types of videos but an FYI standing your sheet masks that way dries them out. They need to be laying down so all the serum and essence inside of them doesn't drop to the bottom and is evenly on the whole face mask.
True. I hope she saw this comment and switched their place. It will be such a waste if they dry out.
The way I control my product collection (clothes and shoes too) is if one comes in at least one must go out. Otherwise I would be overflowing!

Same, but also empty shampoo/conditioner/soap bottles in my shower. My excuse is that they are 98% empty and I might use them when I run out of the new one (does it makes sense? probably not)
Rachel, you need to let the command hooks stick for about 24 hours before hanging anything on them! they will always fall if you don't do this!

Mine always fall anyway. I buy metal screw in hooks instead now because I am sick of them falling
Alliecat1697 is right. My command strip hooks have never fallen. I’ve used them for many heavy products without a problem.
I remember a couple of months back you talked about how sometimes cleaning up your filming area/makeup stuff can give you tons of anxiety and I related to that so so so much, but for me it’s with some other things, but I find it so inspirational to see you turn something that can be hard into a video for us. I hope it helps you power through these things as much as it motivates me!

It is a hard video to do and share with people ....opening up one's personal life.
You should keep your sheet face masks laying down! Otherwise the serum falls to the bottom of the package and not evenly soaking the mask. Trust me, I’ve made the mistake and even ripped a few sheet masks cause one part was super soaked!
How about an extendable shower curtain rod across your under-sink cabinets and get those hooks and hanging baskets from IKEA? You could hang a pile of stuff under there (like a basket for brushes beauty blenders, makeup wipes). That’s what I’m going to do with my cabinets under the sink :)
DlchMcV I was going to comment the exact same thing, only I'd go with command hooks. I've tried finding cheaper ones that actually hold, and in my opinion they do the best.
I have that under mine but the problem I have found is that it makes accessing stuff in the back a little difficult.

This Israel the first organizing video that really seams REAL! And I've seen hundreds of them! They end up looking like magazine pictures, with few stuff or close to nothing shelves (bins with few items on them)...THANK YOU! I'm gonna try it! Blessings!

This gives me hope for my bathroom lol! I would love to see you declutter your makeup area actually....the place that is the worst for me is where I actually do my makeup. My brushes just start piling up as I use them and the whole thing ends up a huge mess.

With command hooks you have to wait a certain amount of time before hanging anything. That's why they got unstuck.

I've used those types of command hooks and hung stuff immediately and always sticks well.
It also has to do with the type of surface it's used on.
For my makeup brushes, I got clear glass mason jars and organized them in different categories... for example one is eye one foundation one blush/powder etc... that way you can quickly grab 👍🏻❤️ I store the oddly shaped brushes and beauty blenders in a basket next to them.

I have to admit that after watching this video I went and organized my own bathroom cupboards. I already had some baskets that were just sitting there and turns out they do wonders for saving space. Thanks for the inspiration, Rachel!
my shelves behind the toilet-I keep a small plastic box with the items people always seem to need...tweezers, nail clippers, Bobby pins, glasses repair kits, etc. I keep q-tips in cube tea tins (perfect height and width for about 200), command strips inside cabinets (even on the doors) to hang tools (easier to get to and clears space in cabinet). over the door hanger for back of pantry door (shoe holder) is great for face masks, perfumes, wipes, girl stuff, etc

The dollar store has great shelf liners. I always use them in my drawers and cabinets so the actual surface doesn't get dirty or stained. I buy the clear ones and they're amazing. You could also use over-the-door hanging baskets in your cabinets. I use them in my bathroom. I got mine from the dollar store and also Homesense; Amazon has a ton of them. You can also get baskets that stick on your cabinet doors. I have some by Command and use them to store my cleaning products in the bathroom.
Omg, you're adorable... I'm almost 43 and I haven't worn full face makeup or worried about any sort of fancy products for my face or hair for 20yrs... The OCD in me is loving your decluttering vids... 💜
Kudos to you for donating/giving products that you don't need to women's shelter, family AND friends!! You're benefiting your face and everyone at the same time, while keeping things clean! Please please please do an update video a couple of months down the road and show us how functionally it's been and how you would change it afterwards :)

I have been enjoying these Pinterest inspired videos. The OCD in me is very happy with watching you declutter and organize.
I use magazine holders to store my brushes upright and to store my straighter and curling wands.. that way you can use vertical space
And I have seen them attached to the doors. That looks brilliant!

I use the Yor Health body line. It works wonders. I got to get rid of so much lotions and soaps. Their products are top quality and all natural. My favorite is their serum, and now that I'm pregnant I'm using the body lotion to prevent stretch marks. So far none have appeared!!! 1 drawer is all I need. It feels so good to just de clutter! ❤

I put a couple "locker shelves" under my bathroom cabinet to maximize the vertical space. I got mine at Target in the back to school section a couple of years ago. They cost maybe $6 or $8 depending on the size and you can still utilize the bins you already have with them. I LOVE all those fancy two-tiered slide in/slide out organizers, but they can be very expensive and there is no way I am spending a lot of money on an organizing item.

Use large command hooks on the inside of the cabinet door, wrap your hot tools cords around the tooland then hang it from the hook.
Watching this is giving me energy to clean. I’ll have to keep your tips in mind esp when I move to an apartment! I liked how you were creative about using bins for things besides their intended purpose like the magazine holder for the face masks. It’s also a good point to do things in sections. I always end up bouncing from one thing to another.
Blow dryer and curling irons can hang on the inside of the doors on those hooks. Be sure to check expiration dates on all cosmetics and pitch them when they expire. Looking good.
I use the magazine holder to hold up my hair appliances 1 flat iron, 2 curling irons, 1 wave iron, 1 barrel curler, blow dryer and blow drying brush. All of them are in a heat protected pouch from Sally beauty. It takes less space then your basket. And when I travel I just grab and go.Wish I could add a pic so u can see.

For organizing face masks, use a binder full of page protectors! Each face mask could go into a page protector, and you could keep the info sheet in it too so it all stays together.

Not sure if someone else has said this, but PVC pipes are perfect on the sides of cabinets to hold things like your hairdryer, flat iron, and curling iron! They are up and easy to grab and take up unused space!!

Hi Rachel! The hooks work if you get the name brand, and follow instructions on purchasing the right kind for the weight you're using them and the time you have to let them set before actually putting any weight on them.

Just organized my bath. What I found most useful for myself was to go to my bedroom and my other bath and gather up all my makeup stuff take it to the kitchen counter and put all like items together. Then I could see the ridiculous amount of stuff I had and was able to get rid of the junk and organize my favorites and stuff I really use.

I'm sure plenty of people have mentioned it but try the command hooks for hanging baskets. They have some that can hold like 8lbs so a few of those should hold anything you'd need and it'll utilize the empty space in the top of your cabinet.
