Every teacher I've ever worked with has slightly (or very) different instructions. It's hard for me to figure out how to strike 'right' when I've learned 3 different 'right's. But I'm picking up bits and pieces that can be added into what my group thinks is 'right'. Keeping my elbow down is a good thing for me to practice. I've also been trying to learn to control the bachi with my hands instead of my wrist, and this video has a lot of great info for that!
