  • Florida's Parker Valby discusses her training before the start of the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
“I’ve been running two or three days most weeks this fall...Mileage differs. I do workout days and sometimes long run workouts. It depends which week and if you have a race or not…Maybe like 30ish.”
    _____
"Tuohy and Valby have a head-to-head matchup on their cards already headed into the championships. At the Nuttycombe Invitational five weeks ago, Valby set a course record in brutal conditions, running away from the NC State star over the second half of the race. It was a shock to see Tuohy - who went undefeated last season - get outclassed and an incredible sign for Valby believers to see her speed translate over the hills that hurt her last November. Tuohy has cruised to impressive wins in her two races since the defeat, and should still be considered a slight favorite until someone takes the trophy from her hands, but it's clear Valby is on a different level than she was last year, and it might just be enough to give the University of Florida its first individual cross country champion."

running isnt a big gymnastical craft - that you have to practice to remember. its a plus for her, that she doesnt beat up her joints... and obviously shes a monsterathlete with ridiculous legstrenght and obviously that strenght comes with crazy resistance training that she does.

Longest week was 30 miles. Her competitors are probably in awe after hitting some 80+ mile weeks.

Ya, that's a jaw dropper!! But I know the interviewer asked that just to get a response cuz everyone in the know knows she runs basically no miles/week🙂

yes but it doesnt mean anything.. because its not all of her training.. she could run 10 miles in a week. Running isnt a gymnastical craft that you have to practice to get it right

She is cool, I wonder how much better her and KT would be if they didn't have to navigate so many stupid and embarrassing questions
