PID: "A proportional-integral-derivative controller is a control loop mechanism employing feedback that is widely used in industrial control systems and a variety of other applications requiring continuously modulated control." What's the simplest or most easily understood example?
This is the single best explanation of PID control I have ever come across since I was first exposed to it 4 years ago. Often times as engineers, we get math equations thrown at us, but the intuition behind that math is lacking. This video is perfect for developing an intuitive understanding of those concepts.
I look away for one second and Wall-E is there. The drawing is on point, the viewer doesn't have to wait for you to draw so you're always engaged, and the lecture is really good.
Very cool , thank you! I've just starting electrical engineering and now I need to ask my robot to move on a straight line , which is why I need to know more about PID. Again , very good video!
If I'm honest my age means we didn't have this technology available when I was a lad, but I watched the video 3 times and it actually began to make sense. You're a very good teacher.
I just want you to know, this basic but wonderful explanation is hugely contributing to the beginning of a new and powerful inventions for the world in the future!
We love this channel and it was one of the reasons to start our own. We are a very new channel and will bring content on control theory, linear systems and systems identification. Keep inspiring people, thank you very much!
Seriously thank you so much Brian 🙏✌ I am studying electromechanical engineering and whenever I need to understand anything related to control I open your channel and you have all topics covered. You are a great teacher.
Excellent work! I'm so glad I found your channel. I wish I had access to this 10 years ago when studying control systems in college. Your explanations have given me a whole new interest in getting back to these topics. Thanks and please keep posting you videos!
Hi Brian, You are doing a great job, easy to explain and understand for everyone is interested in control system. I suggest beside the title on each video you make, put a series number to catch up continuously for watching. Great job, thanks.
I just passed, and it was due to your videos. Thank you very much. ;) You're help is going all the way to Portugal ! And I'm not the only one, I guarantee it
Wow the best intuitive video there is on the PID controllers out there. Either you have an exceptional ability to simplify stuff or others don't know how to explain this simply enough. Thank you so much for this.
Dear Brian, I hope you and your significant ones are healthy during the current Covid outbreak. Thank you for your efforts on UA-cam, I really enjoyed the content and am still following. Due to the way you explain the control theory, I wanted to ask if you may do something about the Integral Sliding Mode control structure. It will be really helpful. Thank you very much, and I wish you a great day.
Good day. Thank you so much for sharing your video lecture materials. Because of the covid19 pandemic, online classroom strategies is now a must. This video presentation will be of big help for me and my students. I need not start from scratch developing online Instructional Materials but rather focus on sharing to students the learning they opt to know. Thank you once again.
Brian, your videos are great. I'm surprised that you don't have more subscribers. I find these lectures extremely informative and easy to follow. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos available. This is how we advance the human race.
Thanks for the informative video! It looks like you might have forgotten to link the next video at 7:37, but google's recommended next video has your back
Hey brian first of all thanks to you for such a great video series on control system. I request you to put videos on ipid(intelligent PID) as well as ADRC(Automatic distortion rejection control).
Thanks for an excellent video, I found it very interesting and I actually think I grasped the basic concepts. And that says quite a lot on how clear and well paced Your explanation was. Best regards.
You're probably just joking, but here's the video: ua-cam.com/video/XfAt6hNV8XM/v-deo.html It's not in the box because UA-cam recently ended support for annotations, so tons of old videos are broken like this
Great lecture! I have two questions concerning the paths (4:09) thought: 1. Why is it only k_p and not k_p*s on the proportional path? 2. How comes you multiply the k_i with 1/s and not f.ex. s on the integral path?
PaJo GaMo 1.Kp. is a linear function not a exponential function. So we do not multiply anything to it 2. Ki times integral of e^st is simply Ki * 1/s 3. Kd times derivative of e^st is simply Kd * s

Good video and the followup video was even better. Subscribed to the guy's channel immediately.
