That’s very clean time-stretching for a free plugin! The granular effect from Portal sounded great from the get-go. Also, efficient use of Kontakt when importing the altered sound. Would be interested in seeing how to get as much out of Kontakt as possible. Always fun to see use-case examples like these, with a scoring/sound design approach
It’s so clean and you can stretch it so far beyond what I show here - it’s really radical. I can do another video diving deeper into kontakt and adding effects internally - the possibility are endless!
Couldn't agree more! I’ve already got a folder of 30 sounds and growing to start creating new instruments with - really a sandbox for those who love music and sound design
Super dope. Just got into Ambient production….You already had me with the plug-in itself… then you brought it into Kontakt and that made me 🤯🤯 Thankyou and #BeGreat
Hi Jonas, I just discovered your channel this morning when this video popped up in my YT feed, and so glad it did. I'd forgotten that I had this little application sitting on my computer, so a big thank you for the reminder and for your inspiring demo of what it can really do. I remember downloading this some time ago, fiddled with it for a bit, but then got caught up with other things and it slipped off my radar, but it's now firmly back on as a wonderful sound design tool. Looking forward to checking out more of your content 🙂
Really happy to hear this video inspired you to reach for this app again - been having a lot of fun with it myself (as you can see!). excited to know the video is inspiring others to either discover something new, or in your case use what they already have to make new sounds! Looking forward to sharing more with you on the channel
This is fantastic Jonas and love how you make all your content in very focused, bite sized videos that get right to the point and don’t waste time. Can you please do a video on how you make samples for playback in Kontact or whatever sampler you use. Thanks!
Depends on the sound - in this case I know the key of the piece of music but because it’s coming from an entire track - usually I’m just going to use this to create textures with octaves with the track has harmony baked in. If I were to use a monophonic sound I’d label it as such and when bringing into kontakt I place it with the appropriate key.
Nice video, thank you. I've Paulxstretch in my apps & plugins folders since ages and I played with it. I confirm it's an excellent tool but my only problem with it is I'm a kind a pad+rev slut, like many of us, and I've many, too many maybe, of this kind of long etherial sound in my patch folder 🙂 This tool itself has the tendency to lead us toward long ambient pads, like you demonstrate in your video. It's good but, like good alcohols, it's maybe too good for me.😁
Ha! I know what you mean - just wait because I address EXACTLY what you’re talking about in an upcoming video where we take these pads and add another awesome plugin I found to turn them in to really sick pulses - stay tuned
Recent subscriber. Just found your channel and absolutely LOVE it!
Thanks so much!

@@jonasfriedman If so, I’d be looking forward to seeing that! Found nothing but great stuff on here :)
I’m looking forward to another video for sure 🔥🔥🔥
Great video! I absolutely love PaulXStretch! It's like creating your own universe. Love the granular sound. You can get lost tweaking for days!

Ah! Paul Stretch has long been my secret weapon for making ambient tunes. The new X version is an improvement too.
It truly is a secret weapon - I think the slick new gui will help people new to the app dive in more easily

Really cool to see how you combine this with kontakt at the end!
thanks for checking it out
Wow, that's super cool! It didn't occur to me that you could drag a sound into Kontakt and create something from scratch. Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure! Appreciate you checking it out
Oh yeah Paul Stretch for years!
I’m late to the party! Super cool tool
Wow, thanks a lot for this extremely valuable hint, Jonas! I checked it out and the first results were already amazing 🤩
That’s awesome to hear! Really happy this has been able to help people creatively

So happy to hear the content is helpful @brentlevasseur - yes I have a video about creating my own kontakt samplers in the works !
Man I didn't know of that plugin! Need to try it ASAP! Thanks man for in the depth walkthrough!
Love when I hear that this video or channel can help someone discover something new! Thanks for checking it out
Fascinating tool! Reminds of Michael Norris spectral plug-ins but with a cool sampler
I haven't heard of those plugins - I'm going to have to check them out. Thanks for sharing!
Will defo check it out. Thanks for the video
Hope you enjoy it!
Amazing 🔥 could you do a video on making a full ambient music with PaulXStretch?
I will try
Awesome thanks ‼️💯🙏🏽🔥🎶🫶🏽🙌🏾 it doesn’t have to be a long video maybe a short video will do💯🙏🏽 i just want to see examples
Been looking for that for a longtime ! Thanks
My pleasure!
That's what I was looking for years.❤
🤘
I had no idea they updated the UI. I’ve been using the one that looks like it’s from 1993 for years.
It’s very intuitive to use - I’d recommend getting the update
@@jonasfriedman it looks great. Thanks for another awesome vide!
@forcedopinion1 my pleasure - appreciate you checking it out!
It's a legendary plugin that's lasted a long time (not sure if it's been a decade yet, but possibly...or longer).
This is a game changer!
Great video! When you drag it into Kontakt, how do you know what key and scale your playing in?

WOW combine that with a granular and heaven will be born....
Yep! The possibilities are endless 🙌
